    I have a black one… 2nd best guitar I own. 1-Eastwood gp 2-jag 3 mim strat with Floyd rose… I like it better with a thick string and a stage 1 shim in the neck. I’ve also tried it with flat wounds tuned down… damn it’s such a killer guitar with fuzz and flat wounds in a drop or whole step down. I did install a metal 2 way switch in the top to make it easier to flip pick ups- cutting my hand to switch real quick sucked. The bottom I kept the reg plastic - but put a metal top pickup selector in… one of the best out there

    I have this in the FSR purple. Very nice. Only my J Mascis Jazzmaster is better in my small collection. Prefer it to my two LP copies as it just wants to get a bit weird and wonderful.

      I got a purple one and a J Mascis as well. The J Mascis is the not so best kept secret amongst guitar players nowadays- so yeah it's hard to beat.

    There's no such thing as tonewood on a solid body electric. How can we take anything else you say seriously when you are still regurgitating that nonsense?
    Beautiful guitar though. Looks a lot like a 1963 original in Silver Sparkle that was up for auction a few years back. The custom shop also makes Jags in Silver Sparkle.

    • @3rdStoreyChemist
      @3rdStoreyChemist 2 года назад

      Its better to say the role of the wood is extremely diminished on a solid body electric guitar rather than "no such thing". If it doesn't exist at all then it wouldn't apply to acoustics either and choice of wood makes a huge difference with that type of guitar.
      Guitar pickups are essentially really weak, terrible microphones (Otherwise microphonic feedback wouldn't exist) and wired into the guitar, so reflections & resonance do play a role in the sound of each guitar. Also the body is capable of resonating, otherwise resonant feedback wouldn't exist either.
      But yes, there are more significant factors when it comes to electric guitars.

    • @jetpackband3523
      @jetpackband3523 Год назад

      @@3rdStoreyChemist "wouldn't apply to acoustics either" huh? One is a basically slab that a magnet (or two) are attached to and those transmit electrical interference to produce a sound to and the other is a vibrating soundboard and air chamber producing the sound. The difference in what wood actually does between the two can be best described as "nothing and almost everything".

    • @3rdStoreyChemist
      @3rdStoreyChemist Год назад

      @@jetpackband3523 My point is if wood had zero impact on the sound, it would apply both to electrics and acoustics. In the case of electric it’s just severely diminished, rather than outright zero impact.
      Electric guitars are not necessarily always solid either, not just through chambering to reduce weight, but also cavities for pickups and electronics. There’s also quite often metal and plastic which also have acoustic properties. So there’s plenty of factors that guitarists don’t consider, the difference between a Tele and a Strat could be the metal and plastic around the bridge pickups for example.

      Dude- the day you learn to make raging thunder with a single coil guitar is the day you become upright and stop dragging your knuckles on the ground. Put your EMG's and your pointy headstocks away, and learn to become a real man. Your wife's boyfriend will respect you more.
