You are the man I can’t believe I was able to snag one of your codes! Ha, if you remember I decided to cancel big boi pro as it was too expensive/ heavy for me, and now I’m canceling my original 2.3 order to use your promo. keav saving me money! Good man.
Code worked perfect! $585 out the door! Thanks for your reviews of the new products. This is what I was waiting for before I decided between the Bigboi, 2.0, & 2.3. I think the extra $ for the 2.3 is well worth it for the serviceability alone. Thanks for the video and code!
Although I'm just a DIY guy that's happy with his little $99 Greenworks pressure washer, I thoroughly enjoy watching these video reviews of pressure washers that I'll never need and never afford. Thanks for all your work Keav.
I have been using this same preasure washer sprayer gun from Amazon since around 2018ish 2019. Never any leaks, and I have abused it and dropped it and thrown it anywhere. I got it just for the swivel, and like you mentioned, how it's shaped. I love it.
Detailed Hose Performance Comparison: TLDR: Very satisfied and impressed with the ability to run a 100' Kobrajet hose. If you're on the fence with getting a longer hose and think you could ever use the extra length, go for it knowing you won't take any performance hit. Got my Kobrajet 3/8 100 foot blue hose (steel braided). It's working flawlessly with no hesitation shutting off when releasing the trigger. I ran a flow and pressure test with a few different hose setups. I tested each configuration 3 different times to reduce error. This was all with my garden hose supplying 60 PSI and 6.5 gpm using the stock 4.6 nozzles. The setups were: the stock 40' hose; the 50' Uberflex; the Uberflex+stock hose (90 feet); and the 100 foot Kobrajet. With all of them the flow rate was 2.16 gpm, each within 0.03 gallons of each other with no repeatable advantage for any one setup (water weighed on calibrated scale). The stock hose and Kobrajet are giving ~810 PSI; the Uberflex ~800 PSI; the Uberflex+stock hose was ~790 PSI. Admittedly, the pressure gauge is hard to tell if there's a change less than about 10 PSI since the graduations between lines is so small, but from many tests there is not a considerable change in pressure between any of the setups. The ONLY real world difference between any of these setups was the time to achieving full pressure. I took a video of the gauge and measured the times from pulling the trigger until reaching full pressure. The stock hose is the quickest on the pressure gauge taking ~0.75 seconds to reach full pressure; the Kobrajet 100 foot was ~1.5 seconds; the Uberflex and Uberflex+stock hose were ~2.3 seconds. In use you don't notice any difference when using the Kobrajet, but you do notice the slight delay from trigger pull to ramp up using the Uberflex, as shown in other videos. Not sure why I'm only getting around 800 PSI, but my gauge could very well be mis-calibrated as it was an Amazon buy and not an expensive calibrated gauge. It's at least repeatable and shows differences with other setups I've tried it on. The flow tests are very accurate as I used a high end calibrated scale. Foam Canon: With MJJC Pro and included 1.45 orifice I'm getting ~800 PSI at 12.5 amps. With 1.25 orifice was getting 1250 PSI at ~17 amps with the pump sounding audibly like it was working harder. Conclusion: I was surprised to not see any difference in the flow rates with any of these hose setups. This could be due to my setup, errors, or resolution of measurement. The internet would make you believe the flow and pressure will take a huge hit and the pump will work harder when running a 100 foot hose. Physics also says this, but looking at Hazen-Williams or Hagen-Poiseuille equations shows that increasing the diameter to be a much bigger factor than length. In my tests I simply did NOT see any discernible difference between any hose with respect to flow, and only the slightest change in PSI that was hard to even discern on the pressure gauge. I know I've heard Matt at OG mention he hadn't seen any difference when using 100 foot hoses, but again all the keyboard warriors will tell you it's a bad idea, when (at least in my tests) there's no difference. The pump also did not appear or sound to be working any harder with the longer hoses, and with the Kobrajet hose I'm pulling a consistent 12.4 amps. I'm still waiting on a Coxreel to put the Kobrajet on, and part of me wonders if there will be any change using the reel since it has a 90d elbow connection, which in theory could reduce flow due to increased turbulence but I honestly doubt it will make a discernible difference. Will update if there's any change. I think these pressure washers are just not moving enough water to see any real world hit to performance. Maybe if I was testing with an 8.5 gpm gas unit it would be different... But, for my particular unit of the Active 2.3 it is no problem and you should consider going for the longer hose (steel braided) if you think you will ever need it.
I would not except any change in flow due to the inner diameters being more than enough for the flow needed I would expect going beyond 100 feet you might start to see pressure drop on a 1/4 hose. Might even see pressure drop on a 100ft 1/4 hose vs a 3/8, but I don’t have that length to even test. Uberflex makes sense taking longer since it expands beyond its actual diameter due to not having braiding to control it.
@@CarsWithKeav for sure I think when going longer, a 3/8 hose will more than make up for any increase in length. If you really want to deep dive check out the Hazen-Williams equation and you'll see that diameter makes a way bigger difference than length. I think you're right on the money about the Uberflex expanding which would absorb some of the pressure energy which is probably why we're seeing the differences when using it vs the steel-braided. Anyways, hope this unnecessary deep dive will help anyone else with the same curiosity haha!
Thru your video, I learned that the Uber flex hose was what was wrong with my new active 2.0 (returned it because of the issue) my unit would surge a lot. I didn't know what it was I honestly thought I had a faulty unit and didn't even think to think that it was because of the Uber flex. You restored my faith into giving active another try. My unit would take some time to build pressure and it would also surge
I pulled the plug and decided to buy the 2.3 my thought process was that since i got the refund for the 2.0 i might as well use the 350 it costed to buy the new one for not that much more and it already comes with the 40ft hose
@@seashackf1 well I tried to find a reputable brand that isn't sold out and ended up just rolling the dice and ordering some chinese brand from Amazon because I need the surging issue fixed right away, no time to wait for restocks
Should’ve had a drain and fill bolt for the oil. You can change the oil of any “sealed” pressure washer the same way active showed in their video. Also now I know why my Portland pressure washer intermittently surges, I thought it was a bad pressure switch but it must be the uberflex hose I use. Great video as always!
The design of the 5 piston pump doesn't allow the room to have the oil filler or drain plug is what I have been told without compromising anything. Its possible on the Portland, but could just be the unit itself. I might have to expand my testing, but Uberflex has always worked well on all the cheaper units I have reviewed.
This looks like a pretty good option. When my 5 year old Karcher finally gives out I will definitely look at the Active options. Curious to see some more on that new Ava pressure washer too.
Both are pretty good products. Active has much better performance at the moment. AVA has not brought any of there better units to the U.S. yet just the cheapest ones.
So happy to see this review. Still waiting on mine from Adam's pre-order as they have changed the date three times. This thing is going to be amazing with my pf22.2. I think another thing to point out when it comes to longevity is they are doing a 2 year warranty for residential use. That really sold me on the unit.
Yeah the two year is a big thing. I think it will have good longevity. When I pre-ordered with Obsessed garage for the 2.0 it was multiple date changes as well and I bought a second one form Active and it came quicker. They have to receive at their facility first then send it to Adam’s which includes a border crossing and customs.
Hello everyone including Cars with Keav Let me start by saying that received my 2.3 today. Ordered on Monday and received on Friday @10 am by FedEx. The box was in good shape for the weight of this unit. I attached my 50’ braided hose rated @5000psi to the 2.3 and changed the orfice that active gives you for the after market foam cannon in my case the MTM foam cannon, and started the testing. I bled the line of air and I noticed more water flow from the gun, no nozzle. Using the stubby gun and attached actives included 25 and 40 degree nozzle to and immediately notice how much more water the unit was pushing and the force of the water….amazing😊 The the MTM foam cannon was next and put maybe 100ml of 3D foam cannon soap to about 300ml of water and the shaving cream of foam was amazing, I could never achieve this quality of soap with my 2300psi with 1.2 gal/min old induction pressure washer. As for the loudness of the unit, honestly from my old unit to this one. The 2.3 is infinitely QUIETER. I get the side by side comparisons to the big boi pro and duo that it’s louder. But honestly, the 2.3 is quiet I can talk to people as I work. If any of you guys are on the fence, don’t be this unit performs and brings detailing to another level…. It’s worth it!!!! With the 10% off and no tax and free shipping from Nevada to California in 4 days from order , this is a win!!!!
That’s awesome. The sound doesn’t bother me either, but it could some. Man if they would have the sound dialed in this would be the easiest choice over the others.
@@CarsWithKeav your review of the big boi and Active is in point. You really did a great job in presenting the real world performance. With your 10% off with Active it was a no brainer. Great quality for the money. Once again the sound of the motor is still very quiet and very good. Keep up the vids looking forward to upcoming ones
any chance you can do a spreadsheet comparison for psi, gpm and amperage between the more common nozzle like 3.5, 4.0, 4,5 and 5.0 as well as an amperage for the most popular orifice sizes? just trying to see what 40degree nozzle and orifice i should get? thanks
I'll put it on the list, but I am at the limits of my extra time already. I will try and do something when I do my full comparison video between the Active, AR, Big Boi and Comet.
Have you tried a 100ft hose with the 2.3? I tested with the 40ft included and auto start/stop worked great, then moved to my OG wall setup with 100ft and noticed it running for additional second or two after releasing the trigger.
Appreciate you posting this. I’ve been trying to ask around to see if it runs a 100’ hose as I just ordered a 100’ Kobrajet and had a concern it wouldn’t run it due to micro switch issues that were seen with the 2.0. I called Active and they said it shouldn’t be a problem with a steel braided 100’ but now I’m concerned. Guess I’ll put it through its paces and see. Will report back after I get the hose next week. Let us know what happens with yours.
@maxs7976 See my recent detailed post about using the 100' Kobrajet. Conclusion is it works perfectly without any hit to my tested flow rate or pressure when compared against the stock 40' hose. Perfect start/stop function. Still waiting on my Coxreel, but don't see that changing anything. I've seen you comment elsewhere that your 2.3 isn't shutting off properly even when switching back to the 40' hose now? Any update as to how it's doing or if Active has responded to your concerns?
@@BradRussellisAwesome Oh that is sweet, super helpful. I reached out and shared videos, it works perfectly with the 40' hose but switching to the 100ft OG hose wall setup behaves very similar to reviewers trying out uberflex hoses with a surge and multiple second delay. Active initially was going to replace the unit, but later said that's expected moving to a longer and larger diameter hose. Going to order a new one and if that doesn't work out will jump to the Kranzle.
As a content creator for my current as well as past employers, I very much enjoyed the blooper reel at the end. So real, I felt every moment. 😫 Great work and appreciate your efforts! I'm probably going to buy the new Active 2.3 based on this review! 💯
It’s just a closet organizer shelf from Home Depot that I cut to size and used heavy duty supports. It on a track so can be adjusted easily up and down.
Keav, been waiting for this review. I'm glad I waited, as I've seen one other review in Canada, and he did not perform the GPM and amp test, left it up to you, IMJOSHV and OG to do it. Was on the fence with Big Boi pro and Active 2.3 and when active released 2 videos claiming the unit is serviceable, that made it even more enticing. Your video and the discount code, brought this unit well within purchase territory . I ORDERED IT JUST NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome! Serviceability and rebuilding were big things they really didn’t answer till the last few weeks. Everybody was debating if it was going to be serviceable.
Would love your help on this. Side note this will be a wall mounted unit for home use only. I ordered 2.3 from Active, but it hasnt shipped yet. To set it up how I would like (new hose, reel, etc) I would be all in at around 1000. I can get Ar630Tss all in for 1200. Would I see much better results for the additional 200 or just stick with active. Thanks for the help.
The AR630 would have slightly less performance and at over 15 amps and is meant for a dedicated 20 amp and comes with the plug for a 20 amp outlet and will not fit in a normal outlet. Two things if you like quiet and have a 20 amp dedicated then the AR is the pick or if you want a machine that is known to be reliable. The 2.3 we don't know yet how reliable it will be, but it does more flow than the AR and at a higher PSI while still being under 15 amps.
@CarsWithKeav I already installed a dedicated 20 amp circuit in the location where I am installing my pressure washer setup in case I needed it. I guess I will wait for the Active 2.3 and just hope it will last. I enjoyed your review on it. Thanks for the reply.
@ You can swap out the small nozzle in most all the rubber nozzle guards. If not MTM Aqualine is where I got mine. amzn.to/4gek1NG They are not cheap though.
Hi man great review as always, What’s your suggestion for one time purchase and not changing or regretting, ar blue or bigboi or active 2.3 or kranzle ? Thanks for your time reviewing all the good stuff
Kranzle is so much money for me. I’m going 2.3 just because of the numbers. I’ll probably end up reviewing a Kranzle in the end just because it is requested so much.
Only if sound is not an issue for you. They are both amazing and I pick the 2.3 because of performance and don’t mind the loud sound. The AR630 is the much better choice if you don’t like the loud sound.
I have been waiting for your vid, and man am I glad that I did. Just ordered it with your code. Thanks so much for saving me 64.00 which should be enough to order a 'real" foam cannon. It is sure to be a big upgrade over the giraffe tools all in one wall mounted unit that I have been using which can be heard from 2 blocks away! Thanks for the great vid!
Does your Giraffe have that crazy thud sound when letting go of the trigger? Sounds like a sledge hammer hitting the wall. 🤣 They work though. You’ll be amazed at the difference when you try the 2.3.
@@CarsWithKeav Yeah, It was a good starting point, and the form factor cant be beat, but honestly it is a trud all the way around. The sound is one of the most awful things ever, the hose is cheap and kinky and the ou put is not very good. Yes it sounds like it is going to break every single time it shuts off. it is also mounted on a wall shared with the house so it is almost as loud inside the house as it is out in the garage. I do love that it has 100ft of hose, and again the looks and formfactor are great, but it is total garbage overall. I wish I had the 300 bucks back, but I have used it for a year and if nothing else it has proven that I can justify spending more on a more prosumer level machine. Thanks again for the vids!
I was debating to get this when I was searching for a new pressure washer. But just recently upgraded from a ryobi 1800 to the active 2.0 and I am blown away. I ended up going with the 2.0 as being mobile it’s smaller and also half the price. I would probably get this for the garage though. Seems like a nice midrange priced washer.
Wow, I hadn't looked at any specs or other videos yet on the active 2.3. But this shocked me at what the numbers are. Plus the cage soecs and it doesn't sound too loud, actually sounds better than the 2.0. If I had the funds, I would buy one right now. The discount code, free shipping and no tax. That foam blaster is a joke, I agree on that and not sure what active was thinking. I wish I had my setup figured out as it is I don't get access so easily to wash my car unless I go to a friend's house. But I tell you, the price and it surplants the AR630. Oil maint and sound, those would be a good trade off to me.
No way!! You got yours!! Man I’m bummed, I preordered this too!!😂 can’t wait for mine, but I thought on their website it said it came with a steel braided hose and short gun.
Awesome Keav, I was wondering if the active 2.3 wants to jump off the shelf without the wall mount bracket on because the active 2.0 wants to jump right off the wall shelf ones on
I do not currently I was given some for Father’s Day, but those got used up pretty quick. Check around on reviews there might be a smaller channel that has not used them up yet.
In your honest opinion, active 2.3 or AR BLUE.. both are in the same price range. I have a dedicated 20amp outlet.. what about the Kranzle? The oil change on something you have to unbuild to means more problems long run as aposed to something that has a drain and fill. What's ur opinion
If the drain fill is something you think will be an issue then I think Ar630 is the pick. I myself don’t think it’s that big of a deal to change the oil, but it’s all preference. Honestly the numbers are too much for me not to go for the 2.3. Detailing Enthusiast I’m not doing to use it at the volume or level as a business. More than likely 50 hours for me is probably at one year.
You can usually only find them as the nozzles that come with a specific pressure washer. Custom sized by the manufacturer for the machine. 4.2 would be a nozzle that comes with a Big Boi duo pressure washer.
I wonder if my uberflex hose was what was causing issues with my Ryobi. When I ordered my Big boi duo I also bought an Adams 60ft super flex sreel braided hose. That hose is very nice !!
@CarsWithKeav the main problem with the Ryobi was the surging and sometimes after releasing the trigger it didn't want to shut off. I haven't tried the Adam's hose with it .
@Keav I Like 2.3 but Pan the organizer he said the noise was so loud it had his ears ringing. My only concern is I’m going to wash my cars in my garage. I just can’t make my mine between the active 2.3 and the AR630tss
It doesn’t hurt my ears at all compared to say using an EGO blower or a shop vac in the garage they are way louder. It is loud, but I feel like the video made it louder than it was. I think all depends on the location and if the wall it’s mounted on has a bedroom or another room on the other side. Most of the time when washing I’m far enough away from the unit that the spray gun and water pressure is just as loud. I’m rarely ever standing within 5 feet of it when it’s actually running. I’m near it reeling the hose, but it’s never running then. AR is much quieter for sure and there is nothing really negative about it you can’t go wrong choosing it. The 2.3 you could not like the sound. If you sat next to it at ear level for extended period of time I could see maybe the ears hurting. Don’t ever see myself doing that. If you are on the fence at all about loud get the AR630
Hey Keav! Looking into upgrading my pressure washer for my mobile unit. What unit would you recommend for mobile detailers? The 2.3 or 2.0? Running a 55 gallon tank which usually lasts about a car and a half depending on severity. I’m a little worried that the 2.3 may suck through the tank… but in reality it’s only be about a gallon more every 3 minutes. The 2.3 catches my eyes for the rinsing capability and noise level. Either way my generator is going to drown out the pressure washer noise, but I occasionally run the pressure washer off an extension cord. What do you think? Lol. Looking for a real honest opinion!
I responded to your DM on Instagram. For those wanting to know I don’t know enough yet about the 2.3 on a generator to be able to answer. Imjoshv had some issues getting it to work so not sure if it’s the generator not having enough juice or something else.
It’s about the same Kranzle has a bit more kick to it. The Active is a little more linear. The timing is the same on most all these types of pressure washers.
Unfortunately only way to get a special sized nozzle is with a a pressure washer that the manufacturer made it a specific size for certain performance. Big Boi Duo uses a 4.2 size nozzle. Possibly you could contact their customer service for a replacement set to buy. I’d not see them for sale on their website.
Sweet!!! I am more excited to receive this unit. Thanks for the review. Do you happen to know or maybe you can get an answer faster than the rest of us from Active…. With 50 hours first oil change then at 100 hours etc after, is that 50 hours of the unit being powered on or 50 hours of trigger pulled? And thanks for the discount code. Now we just need Active to get their accessory kit out with the new foam cannon and longer hose.
I’m am waiting for that foam cannon just to drop test it. 🤣 50 hours of the motor being used so whenever you pull the trigger till when you let go is part of the 50 hours.
It sounds like the general consensus is that the 2.3 frequency response is better, though it is quite a bit louder. The 2.0 frequency response is concentrated more in the higher frequencies, while the 2.3 is in the lower range. Also, yeah my uberflex 50 foot hose is garbage and does the surging thing.
I’ve heard many so they use Uberflex with AR and Kranzle without issue so wondering if it’s just Actives design that doesn’t jive with the Uberflex. Maybe the 5 piston pump design causes it? I like the sound way better than the 2.0 that is for sure.
@@CarsWithKeav I imagine maybe the higher end units have better pressure switches or something so it doesn't show up, but I really think the Uberflex hoses are terrible and everyone should try to use more rigid and braided hoses like you said. I got some random hose off of Amazon Vine for free (Coyardor brand) and it's way better than the Uberflex, seemingly because it is has the steel wire layer for rigidity.
@CarsWithKeav Hey Keav, I use mtm hydro PF22.2 foam canon with 1.1 orifice. I can just remove the orifice from active canon and swap it with my mtm hydro orifice? I didn't know they were standard size. It seems you removed active orifice and put it in your generic foam canon. For a 40degree sprayer with at least 4.5 orifice. I would have to get MTM Aqualine 4.5 nozzle too. I do have McKillans nozzle but it is only 4.0 and that would get me a little over 15amps.
The active 2.3 should come with a 1.45 orifice that you can put into the MTM. Actuve cannon that comes with the 2.3 doesn’t have a removable orifice. You can remove the nozzle piece in the Mckillans nozzle and replace it with a 4.5 from MTM would be cheaper.
Keav, been recently watching your videos and becoming a fan! I wanted to ask to see if you can do a comparison between the Active 2.3, Bigboi Pro, and the AR 630 TSS? Also will you be getting the Kranzle K1322TS? I'm in between all of these and I love how you test and I believe your opinion as honest vs some of the other channels on RUclips.
I think I will end up getting a Kranzle the channel is doing good and I have enough money to get one now. I am also right in the middle of making a comparison video between 2.3, both big boi, AR630 TSS and the Comet 1700. SInce its 5 pressure washer I will just pick the best nozzles that get them all at the same PSI between 950 and 1K and just do those numbers. Ill also report issues brought up in the comments and what I have experienced and I talked to IMjoshv and will give some input he gave me when it comes to using a generator with them.
It’s a bit quieter without it not really from a DB measuring perspective though. There is less reverb from the wall of the cage and to me sounds better by itself. I’ve actually thought a good idea might be to try and sound deaden the cage and enclose it a bit more to help with sound. Most of the structure is already there to build a full cage around it.
How do you establish when you’ve used it for 50 or 100 hours? It would be nice if there was a screen on the unit letting you know how long it’s been used or something to tell you that it’s time to change the oil. Like how a car odometer works so you know how many miles you’ve driven till your next oil change
This is the problem there is no way that I know of, but I’m trying to figure it out. Problem is most hour meters are designed for gas or diesel motors. I’m just going for the good ole once a year. That an hour a week of straight trigger pulling.
Keav,,,I just purchased the 2.3 and love it...was thinking of adding a 50ft Blu Shield Aramid Braided hose and coupling the OEM 40ft. together on a Cox reel...what do you think of that and which hose would you attach first since one is 1/4 and the other is 3/8....I was wanting to wait for the new Active 50ft. hose but still not out yet...thanks for all your video's they are very informative!!!
Thanks for the kind words 🙏 it really doesn’t matter which one is first when dealing with less than a 100 feet. I would say the one you want to deal with the most should be last. Be careful with where they are joined when going on the reel they may not want to roll on there easily and you will have a very long straight part. Ideally for optimal performance the bigger diameter should be first, but we are not dealing with tons of flow here so should not matter.
@CarsWithKeav So, is that Active 2.3 still on your shelf, or have you gone back to the AR630? Wanting to get a replacement for the Pro on order (it will be going back ... Tired of the issues), and the results you got on the 2.3 have my attention. Thanks Keav!
Keav, I used your code to buy the Active 2.3; Thanks! Any thoughts (pro and con) on mating the included stock 40' hose with the Active 2.0 stock 25' hose with a hose coupler, yielding 60' of steel wrapped hose?
VE52 did have issues with the pressure switch on 50 ft 3/8 hoses depending on if it’s an older model as they updated it over time. I would stay 1/4 inch hose with the VE52 many really like this one. amzn.to/3We9uvm
Have you tried it with a 100 feet hose(with 2.3), I have a kevlar Blue shield, I see a slight delay in start. Not sure if its the length or kevlar that causing it.
Anytime you go longer in hose there could Be a slight change in ramp up. Many are using on 100ft without any issue. What exactly is a slight delay? Issue with the hose type has always been about the unit turning off or surging.
@ I watched both and don’t see any issues. It will take longer for the 100ft hose to fill up after turning with more than double the length. No hose related issues to be worried about.
Keav would you be willing to do a video on the best hoses to pair with the Active 2.0 or 2.3? I am looking to upgrade from my craftsman 1700psi and 1.2 GPM pressure washer to an Active 2.0 (or maybe VE52) and don’t wanna skimp on the hose
Kobrajet is a good hose. I got one similiar to it. I got mine from Obsessed garage. I forget how much I paid for it but it’s just as good as the kobrajet.
I’m partial to the Blushield Kevlar due to its smaller diameter and being very light, but the gray steel braided ones on Amazon are good as well very close to a Kobrajet gray hose.
@@CarsWithKeav I have the OG version. It’s not a kobrajet. I think he said it’s made by Continental. I could be wrong though. Bought it about a year and a half ago.
@@Jonathan-pr1wo yeah he makes his own lengths and they crimp it themselves I think. In the end to me they are all steel braided 3/8 just some have a more durable outer coating or jacket that sets them apart. If you are running a pressure washing business with crazy pressure machine then I would be much more concerned with the max pressure and build. With car washing pressure you are usually only 25% of the max pressure the hose can handle.
Thanks so muck Keav just used your code. I look forward to unboxing this puppy. I currently own a AR 630 and as wonderful and amazing as it performs I can't utilize it properly on my mobile rig with my generator seeing how it trips often. I love the AR but it becomes a nuisance after a while given my particular situation.
Better is a hard to say. If you have a 20 amp circuit it’s hard to beat the overall package of the AR especially when it comes to noise. 2.3 is cheaper and more performance, but it’s only 5% more flow and is much louder. Plus it’s not proven in the long term yet when it comes to durability.
@@datmayne Never seen them on sale. Best way is to join a membership program at OG or Car supplies warehouse. Not enough value to cover the cost of membership, but if you buy from them often it’s worth it.
Keav since the Ryobi or Greenworks doesn’t have surging issues do you think it would work as a dual setup? Obsessed garage doesn’t want to test it, they tried the active 2.0 then gave up
That’s a really good question I’m not sure the pressure switches are advanced enough to run together, but maybe it’s an idea for a video in the future. 🤔
@@CarsWithKeav yeah that would be cool and would give everyone a final answer on that. I’ve seen other pressure washer professionals use check valve on each jumper hose before going to the tee. In my mind that would stop water rushing the wrong direction and affecting the switches
@@pantac4493 a lot of them need those check valves just for a permit perspective many places require them to stop chemicals and debris from going back to the source. I have a lot of research to do at least with lower end machines it won’t cost as much. Usually on the water hose side though and not the pressure washer hose.
@@YuriTarded-hf1nv logic. this video is about a pressure washer that puts out 2.3 gpm. Two Ryobi’s would produce the same or more gpm for a way lower price if it works. Plus it’s redundant so if one breaks, the other is likely still working. Depends on the person, what kind of system makes sense for them or their business. It’s not a new practice, professionals for cleaning homes and parking lots/driveways have been combining pressure washers for years to get more gpm to get jobs done quicker
Hey - I have a 2.3 but I am struggling to get good foam. I have a mtm pf22.2 cannon and I use the orifice they provide. The foam is super wet and really doesn’t foam much. Been using GFX. On my last wash I think I used over 4 ounces of soap. Any thoughts here before I return? I would hate to return it
I would not think the pressure washer would be to blame for not having good foam. One of this caliber should do it quite easily. Have you changed out the filter in your pf22.2? The suction tube have any holes in it? Possibly the orifice isn’t fully seated? One other possibility is the orifice nozzle they gave you is not accurate to the 1.45 they claim. Might be able to call customer service and ask for a replacement one who knows they might do it. Pf22.2 adjustment nozzle at the top might be stuck at a lower setting possibly? I’m just throwing out anything that it could be.
Thanks for being so responsive- I truly appreciate it. I have new filters that just came in. Going to give that a try. Just doesn’t make sense on my chest tho I with a 1.1 I am getting good foam with that cannon. Stay tuned! I also reached out to support- just worried about the 39 day return/exchange window closing. I’ll be back after some more testing
great vid @CarsWithKeav longtime subscriber first time commenter... 100ft hose? 1/4 or 3/8? I am a BlueShield Aramid Kevlar fan. I have the 2.3, but wanted to see if anyone has tried a 100ft hose yet on it as I have read the 2.0 couldn't handle 100ft lengths, If the 2.3 cannot does the ar630? The stock 2.3 hose is nice I really do like it, but 40ft is not long enough for my needs and 50 is still not enough, 60 is most ideal in my case.
Hey Keav. Great Video. I picked up an Active 2.3 Pro. I plan to use it with my MJJC foam cannon after swapping the orifice out with the 1.45 that active sends. But i'm curious what gun would you recommend? Looking at the MTM, Active short gun or the McKillians Swivel gun pro. Or is there something you'd recommend different? Appreciate your input
Those would be my 3 choices to choose from. I prefer the SGS28 just due to the trigger. Mckillans they dropped the price on Amazon to $90. If you like the angle of spray to be straight that is a good choice. Active is coming out with a version 2 of. Their spray gun next month.
@@CarsWithKeav one other question. I have several foam cannons I use. where can the 1.45 orifice be found to buy separately? Ive looked all over with no luck. Have only been able to find 1.40 brass not sure the 1.40 would be big enough to keep under the 15 amp draw. Same issue with the nozzles if looking for nozzles with the soft shroud. 4.0 is the largest and they like 4.6
@@ConwayLStevens 1.4 will be no problem at all and stay a good bit under 15 amps. I know at some point Active will be selling parts on their site. A 4.5 works just fine and they are readily available. I use 4.5 on my 2.3 currently. You can get 4.5 mtm Aqualine with the soft nozzle guard.
This replaced the AR630 that was sitting on my shelf. It is of the same quality. Same type of motor. Ar630 is more quiet, easier to change oil and over time has proven its reliability. It however will only work on a 20 amp circuit which limits the garages it will work in. AR630 after taxes is over $800 for me vs $650 to me that’s a big difference. You can’t go wrong with the AR630 though and it’s an amazing machine.
I had this same dilemma. I’ve always wanted an AR Blue. However, even with no tax where I am, the AR is $202 more with shipping. With Keav’s coupon the difference stretched to $267 to my door which is not insignificant. Is the AR better long term? I have no doubt. But is it worth nearly 1.5x the Active 2.3? I don’t think so, especially not for a home gamer like me.
Changing the nozzle size to be smaller makes the motor work harder to force the water through which increases it’s draw in amp. Opposite for a larger size having less load/pressure for lower amp draw and since it’s larger more water flow as well.
Active has the better performance numbers it’s really up to sound and the environment. Business I would go Big Boi Pro and home 2.3 if you don’t mind the noise. It’s doesn’t bother me.
That must be the duo the pro is more comparable to an AR. Duo is not in the same league of the Pro or AR to me. You can get AR630 free shipping for $765.
What hose do you suggest for active products. I have a VE52 with a flexzilla hose at the moment. The stock hose was too short for my setup so needed a 50 foot hose. Too many options on Amazon to pick out the correct one.
What would be the reason to get this over the 2.0? I’m a weekend warrior that will have a mounted unit in the garage and I’m rocking an old Ryobi right now. Was not clear on why buy one versus the other? Happy Thanksgiving!
@@CarsWithKeav Went with the 2.3... buy once, cry once, I guess. Your review made me make the commitment, and it didn' t hurt it was Black Friday :) Thanks for being one of the better YTers on car stuff, and don't become like Pan by pimping products he gets free.
That’s a big spread in price. Maybe the 630tss is a middle ground and kind of a combo of the two of them. Me personally would rather spend the $750 on the pressure washer and use the rest to build a high quality the setup. One great thing about the 1122 is that it’s probably the best all in one unit out there so it’s very portable and take little room. If money is no problem that’s a good buy.
@@CarsWithKeav Thanks, the all in one and easy to move is what has me leaning towards 1122, but it’s hard to justify the money when it’s only going to be used 2-3 times a month. I’m old and frugal , the 630tss seems like the all around best buy for the money(easily serviceable). I just need to buy so I will quit changing my mind lol. Thanks for the videos
@@CarsWithKeav I backtracked again, I ended up buying the Kranzle 1122tst package from The Clean Garage, with short gun and MJJC foam cannon and tips. What sold me was I needed to be able to move from my attached garage on my house to my 60ft by 100ft garage across the street. I needed to be able to wash my toys (66 chevelle SS 100% original) and my Harley’s and my personal cars at my house. Now I’m trying to find best DI setup for small scale use. Thanks for your videos, it helps to know what is out and available. That Kranzle is nice comparing to my old Ryobi
Depends on how much you use it really. The 2.0 value per dollar is way better. 2.3 should last longer and has 15% more performance. It’s a nice thing to have, but not needed over a 2.0 is just a homeowner.
Will be very hard to find outside of having to buy another pressure washer. Those normally only come custom sized by companies for specific models like the 2.3 has a 4.6 stock.
Serious question here as to this process stated by active. Shutting Down and Cleaning Up 1 Turn off water supply and disconnect the garden hose from the water inlet on the pressure washer. 2 Pull the trigger to release any remaining water pressure. Set the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position. 4 Unplug the power cord from the outlet. 5 Engage the safety lock on the spray gun. Why would you ever unplug the water source and run ? This has me hesitant to do on my unit I currently have
Where did you get this info? Never heard of running a unit dry. I can reach out to them and find out if this is true. They are the manufacture so maybe their system is different. 🤷♂️ Plus normally if you don’t relieve pressure from the gun it’s really hard to disconnect the incoming water because of the pressure.
Active will be changing their manual as what was stated is not correct. They will add to release the water pressure before disconnecting the water hose. I’m questioning them on the on/off now since if you turn supply off, relieve pressure and disconnect the hose while it’s still turned on then it will run dry.
92db that’s crazy I got like 88 next to it. I measure 86db from about 6 feet. Crazy though the 2.0 can hurt my ears and sounds way louder, but measures 81db
Darn, I already have the AR630. This is making me wonder if I should sell that and get the Active 2.3. They’re comparable at different amp draws, both serviceable and setup for the 1.5mm foam cannon orifice that I got from OG.
AR630 is a great machine. I have the easy decision since it’s for a review so I’m getting it anyways, but if I had a 630 and not making review content I would just keep rocking it.
@CarsWithKeav I just got it warranty because I think like you said in the video about the 2.0 over long period of use it messed up its pressure cut off switch they warranty it tho new one is on the way talk about customer service I am def a Active pw customer for life look forward to seting up a detailing van with the 2.3
Second hose is 3/8 and very similar to Kobrajet just uses Kevlar instead of steel for the braiding. I should have said that in the video thanks for bringing it up. 🙏
I have new codes for Fathers Day! I have 16 codes for Active 2.3 use code KEAVFATHERSDAY23 and for Active 2.0 use KEAVFATHERSDAY20

@@CarsWithKeavjust purchased one as well using your code. This will be an upgrade coming from a Ryobi. Time to retire that one. Thanks Keav.
Just used it and I thank you!
Code worked perfect! $585 out the door! Thanks for your reviews of the new products. This is what I was waiting for before I decided between the Bigboi, 2.0, & 2.3. I think the extra $ for the 2.3 is well worth it for the serviceability alone. Thanks for the video and code!
It’s a crazy time right now never before have we had so many new choices and to me no wrong decision can be made as they are all good.
Although I'm just a DIY guy that's happy with his little $99 Greenworks pressure washer, I thoroughly enjoy watching these video reviews of pressure washers that I'll never need and never afford. Thanks for all your work Keav.
You’re welcome and nothing wrong with rocking a Greenworks!
I have been using this same preasure washer sprayer gun from Amazon since around 2018ish 2019. Never any leaks, and I have abused it and dropped it and thrown it anywhere. I got it just for the swivel, and like you mentioned, how it's shaped. I love it.
That’s awesome! Sounds very durable.
MOST ANTICIPATED REVIEW!!!! Love the consistency Keav!

Detailed Hose Performance Comparison:
TLDR: Very satisfied and impressed with the ability to run a 100' Kobrajet hose.
@@BradRussellisAwesome Never unnecessary when you have quality info!

I may end up purchasing this as I am in need of a new pressure washer. Looks legit! Great review! Always love that you leave the bloopers!!
Bloopers show the vibe behind the scenes and makes editing a little more fun.
I have the same problem with my 2.0 using Uberflex
Only problem is the 50 ft braided hose by active is sold out
I pulled the plug and decided to buy the 2.3 my thought process was that since i got the refund for the 2.0 i might as well use the 350 it costed to buy the new one for not that much more and it already comes with the 40ft hose
@@Bloodstrykemany other options available. They are far from the only ones that sell them.
They have to receive at their facility first then send it to Adam’s which includes a border crossing and customs.
glad to see your video on this, cant wait to get mine and start using it. great to see affordable mid/high range pressure washers.

Such a good video Keav. Thank you for all your work, for the culture.
Appreciate that!
Hello everyone including Cars with Keav
Let me start by saying that received my 2.3 today.
Using the stubby gun and attached actives included 25 and 40 degree nozzle to and immediately notice how much more water the unit was pushing and the force of the water….amazing😊
The the MTM foam cannon was next and put maybe 100ml of 3D foam cannon soap to about 300ml of water and the shaving cream of foam was amazing, I could never achieve this quality of soap with my 2300psi with 1.2 gal/min old induction pressure washer.
Once again the sound of the motor is still very quiet and very good.

any chance you can do a spreadsheet comparison for psi, gpm and amperage between the more common nozzle like 3.5, 4.0, 4,5 and 5.0 as well as an amperage for the most popular orifice sizes? just trying to see what 40degree nozzle and orifice i should get? thanks
I'll put it on the list, but I am at the limits of my extra time already. I will try and do something when I do my full comparison video between the Active, AR, Big Boi and Comet.
you the man Keav, love these reviews, you got me into the DI systems and now making me buy a 2.3 when technically I dont need it.
Same here on both things!

Have you tried a 100ft hose with the 2.3? I tested with the 40ft included and auto start/stop worked great, then moved to my OG wall setup with 100ft and noticed it running for additional second or two after releasing the trigger.
Active says it’s good for 100ft and they tested with mtm hoses. I only have 50ft hoses at the moment.
@@BradRussellisAwesome Thanks, please let us know how it goes.
What steel braided pressure washer hose do you recommend?
I like the Blushield Kevlar hose which is stronger than the steel braiding, but way lighter.

@@edwinvalerio8182 No problem. The good thing is in this category I have not reviewed a pressure washer yet that would be a bad decision.

@@DimensionMachine No problem! Glad to help.
2.0 is a great machine and unmatched in size and portability. Nothing that small can perform like that.
Everything you said is spot on. Hope you get that setup finished and the way you like.
No way!! You got yours!! Man I’m bummed, I preordered this too!!😂 can’t wait for mine, but I thought on their website it said it came with a steel braided hose and short gun.
The hose it comes with is steel braided and it is a gun just a crappy gun. Wish it came with a short gun. 🤣
@@nick-3808 I just got tracking info in my shop app for the one I pre-ordered from Active.
Awesome Keav, I was wondering if the active 2.3 wants to jump off the shelf without the wall mount bracket on because the active 2.0 wants to jump right off the wall shelf ones on
It doesn’t move at all from the month I have been using it so far.
Fantastic, great video. Awesome review. Thank you
You’re welcome
Can you do a retest to see if GPM increased after a couple months of usage?
My PSI has not changed from the review so GPM would not have changed.
Possibility for a new code for the 2.3?!?!
Hopefully they will give some more out. They just email me every now and then with 15 new ones and they go pretty fast.
Great content! One question....do you have any more discount codes for the Active 2.3 pressure washer?
I do not currently I was given some for Father’s Day, but those got used up pretty quick. Check around on reviews there might be a smaller channel that has not used them up yet.
@@CarsWithKeav Will do. Thanks!
Hi Keav. What’s your thoughts on this washer compared to the BigBoi WashR Pro?
2.3 all day unless you are running a high volume business then I would go Pro.
Where would you find a 4.1 or 4.2 nozzle? All I’ve seen is 4.0, 4.5, 5.0
You can usually only find them as the nozzles that come with a specific pressure washer.
Did the Ryobi die? Have you been able to see if that hose works better on the Ryobi?
Pan pro wasn’t compensated or paid by active.
@@WillieBeamin-t4v Neither was I, but I can’t tell if you joking at Pan or me. 🤣🤣
Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge. How does the delay (I think you call it "ramp up" in the video) compare to your Kranzle?
It’s about the same Kranzle has a bit more kick to it. The Active is a little more linear. The timing is the same on most all these types of pressure washers.
@@CarsWithKeav Thanks much for the reply.
where can you get 4.1 nozzles?
Thank you Keav. I’m one of those who got the discount w your code. Ty.
Glad you got one they sold out 3 times!
Hey Keav, any sound/db difference with the cage vs without the cage? I heard it’s quieter without the cage on…
It’s a bit quieter without it not really from a DB measuring perspective though.
I would say the one you want to
deal with the most should be last. Be careful with where they are joined when going on the reel they may not want to roll on there easily and you will have a very long straight part. Ideally for optimal performance the bigger diameter should be first, but we are not dealing with tons of flow here so should not matter.
Thank you...I may just roll up the 50ft on the reel and ad the OEM Active hose if needed.
@CarsWithKeav So, is that Active 2.3 still on your shelf, or have you gone back to the AR630?
Wanting to get a replacement for the Pro on order (it will be going back ... Tired of the issues), and the results you got on the 2.3 have my attention. Thanks Keav!
Active is still on the wall nobody has complained about the noise yet.
Keav,
I used your code to buy the Active 2.3; Thanks! Any thoughts (pro and con) on mating the included stock 40' hose with the Active 2.0 stock 25' hose with a hose coupler, yielding 60' of steel wrapped hose?
I see no problem with that as they say you can go to a max of 100 feet on the 2.3
Is there a quick connect/disconnect kit you recommend for this?
It’s not cheap, but the quality is excellent. Viton orings and gaskets make this the best to me outside of say Mosmatic. amzn.to/3U8FcHG
What is the best and most flexible 50' steel braided hose? I'm having surging issues with my V52 and the Uber flex hose. Great review thanks!
VE52 did have issues with the pressure switch on 50 ft 3/8 hoses depending on if it’s an older model as they updated it over time. I would stay 1/4 inch hose with the VE52 many really like this one. amzn.to/3We9uvm
Keav do you know if active is working on a new pressure washer for 2025
I have not heard anything. Their focus right now is on the accessories around the current lineup.
Have you tried it with a 100 feet hose(with 2.3), I have a kevlar Blue shield, I see a slight delay in start. Not sure if its the length or kevlar that causing it.
Anytime you go longer in hose there could
Be a slight change in ramp up. Many are using on 100ft without any issue. What exactly is a slight delay? Issue with the hose type has always been about the unit turning off or surging.
The 1/4 40 ft hose works way happy. ruclips.net/user/shortsD6r2q8_jEVU
I posted a video short for it, doesn't let me add a link here.
@ I watched both and don’t see any issues. It will take longer for the 100ft hose to fill up after turning with more than double the length. No hose related issues to be worried about.
Thanks Keav.
Impressive. Nice video Keav
Thank You!
Build a soundproof box around it ???
I have thought about that, but then you lose that great look it has and need to make sure enough air flow for heat dissipation.
Let us know how this works in a mobile setup. Curious to see how this goes in a high volume setup.
Is it better than the AR360
Better is a hard to say. If you have a 20 amp circuit it’s hard to beat the overall package of the AR especially when it comes to noise. 2.3 is cheaper and more performance, but it’s only 5% more flow and is much louder. Plus it’s not proven in the long term yet when it comes to durability.
@@CarsWithKeav Thank you. I’m in the market for one, your videos have been extremely helpful. Have you ever seen them go on sale?
@@datmayne Never seen them on sale. Best way is to join a membership program at OG or Car supplies warehouse. Not enough value to cover the cost of membership, but if you buy from them often it’s worth it.

Not for myself, but search some more reviews there has got to be a few out there with codes still available.
Why would anyone want to use a dual setup? No disrespect but that is just dumb
@@bloosey Let us know how it goes. I know some are going to a slightly smaller orifice at 1.4mm to get more foam.
great vid @CarsWithKeav longtime subscriber first time commenter... 100ft hose?
100 ft for sure I would use a 3/8 hose. The 2.4 has been tested by Active to run a 100ft mtm Kobrajet type hose so you are good there as well.

AR630, Big Boi Washer Pro, 2.3 no budget which pick?
Business I say Big Boi Pro for the home 2.3 if noise isn’t an issue.
I don't see why for this price point, you wouldn't get the AR630TSS. It seems far more robust. Am I wrong?
@@BradRussellisAwesome Agreed, AR is an amazing machine and will no doubt last. For the home user especially 15amp 2.3 does it for me.
I just bought the ar675. Reg price $844 on zoro. Had a 20% off coupon. Got it for $718 with tax. Highly recommend and oh so quiet!
@BradRussellisAwesome oh and the ar 675 only requires a 15amp outlet. But,you will only get 1.7gpm vs 2.3 of the active. If that matters
Hi would you recommend buying the bigboi washer pro or the active 2.3 curious!
So I think 2.3 all day if you are a home user or light detailer. High volume business I think the Big Boi Pro is the way to go.
is this surging issue gonna damage the unit?
If surging happens for extended times it can wear down the motor earlier than expected.
Can’t wait to receive mine Wednesday for my wash bay
Awesome! Let us know how it goes!
How would you have the system draw more AMPs than it wants, in this case 14. Amps are pulled not given. Honest question, I may learn something here.
Changing the nozzle size to be smaller makes the motor work harder to force the water through which increases it’s draw in amp. Opposite for a larger size having less load/pressure for lower amp draw and since it’s larger more water flow as well.
If your starting to detail a few vehicles what would you use the Active 2.3 or the Big Boi Washer Pro? Seems the BB has better numbers
BB is considerably more and for that I would do the ar blue
@@kellyk7553 You must live in a different area of the US because the Big Boi is cheaper than the AR by $200-300
@@adamrusch7112 I am talking about the bbwashr pro not duo

That must be the duo the pro is more comparable to an AR. Duo is not in the same league of the Pro or AR to me. You can get AR630 free shipping for $765.
What hose do you suggest for active products. I have a VE52 with a flexzilla hose at the moment. The stock hose was too short for my setup so needed a 50 foot hose. Too many options on Amazon to pick out the correct one.
The 50ft gray non marking hoses are always a good buy on Amazon. amzn.to/4aSXp3a
What would be the reason to get this over the 2.0? I’m a weekend warrior that will have a mounted unit in the garage and I’m rocking an old Ryobi right now.

Can’t make my mind up on buying this 2.3 or the kranzle 1122tst portable. Only gonna be used to wash my personal vehicles couple times a month
Depends on how much you use it really. The 2.0 value per dollar is way better. 2.3 should last longer and has 15% more performance. It’s a nice thing to have, but not needed over a 2.0 is just a homeowner.
Searching for a 4.2 nozzle link
Will be very hard to find outside of having to buy another pressure washer. Those normally only come custom sized by companies for specific models like the 2.3 has a 4.6 stock.

Does the Active 2.0 require oil changes?
It is a enclosed unit so no oil changes
Correct
Sealed units should not be taken apart so it is not considered changeable.
Serious question here as to this process stated by active.
Shutting Down and Cleaning Up
1
Turn off water supply and disconnect the garden hose from the water inlet on the pressure washer.
2
Pull the trigger to release any remaining water pressure.
Set the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.
4
Unplug the power cord from the outlet.
5
Engage the safety lock on the spray gun.
@@CarsWithKeav it’s in the operating instructions booklet page 13 , 6.2 “shutting down and cleaning up”
@@mtiger5 Thanks I’ll look it up and ask them about it. Could be a translation problem possibly.
Active will be changing their manual as what was stated is not correct. They will add to release the water pressure before disconnecting the water hose. I’m questioning them on the on/off now since if you turn supply off, relieve pressure and disconnect the hose while it’s still turned on then it will run dry.
They responded about the on/off and will be making that the first step. Thanks for bringing this up so we can save some others some headaches.
Damn! Can’t wait until this arrives in Australia
Hopefully they start changing the plugs out on these and send them down under!
A great unit but you will definitely want to wear ear protection if the main unit is nearby. Another channel measured 92 dB from a few feet away.
I have the easy decision since it’s for a review so I’m getting it anyways, but if I had a 630 and not making review content I would just keep rocking it.
nice cant wait to get one im still rocking my v52 originator !
Nice, still got my VE52 on display in the garage.
@CarsWithKeav I just got it warranty because I think like you said in the video about the 2.0 over long period of use it messed up its pressure cut off switch they warranty it tho new one is on the way talk about customer service I am def a Active pw customer for life look forward to seting up a detailing van with the 2.3
@@DJJDSKREWED That’s great got to
like a company that has good customer service. Makes you forget about a little noise with a pressure washer.
@@CarsWithKeav we got a big 350cc generator running to run it cant hear it any way lol :P
Has anyone tested if a 1.4mm orffice for the foam cannon stay bellow 15 amps?
It is safe
@@CarsWithKeavAwesome, thank you
So what nozzles do I get for this?
I explain in the video all my suggestions, but really the stock nozzles are the perfect sizing already.
@@CarsWithKeav I just got a little confused with all the numbers lol
@@waterslug4263 No problem.
Could you test with a 3/8 kobrajet(mtm) or is that the diameter of the second hose used?
Cheers
Second hose is 3/8 and very similar to Kobrajet just uses Kevlar instead of steel for the braiding. I should have said that in the video thanks for bringing it up. 🙏
@@CarsWithKeav that’s what i thought, it looked like it was, but just wanted to be sure! Cheers!
