Thank you for this. here's a Summary for those in a rush. >Tube amps can kill you. don't be stupid. >Multimeter Pos lead to R20, Neg to Chassis. Set to DCV. >Turn on amp and turn the bias pot. >Get to .40mv for factory recommendation. >Do more if you want more drive.

Thanks for the help! Superchamps are great amps. The stock tubes in mine lasted about 15 years of regular gigging before they failed. I’d been meaning to replace them for years but never got around to it.

Thanks for the great video. I did not still have the need to change the tubes on my amplifier I purchased new, but on the basis of your video I wanted to check how the amplifier came saet from the factory. To my great surprise, instead of 40 mVs, it was set at 59 mVs by the factory. I set it to 40 and got a much nicer and cleaner sound.

Thank you! This was my first time setting the bias on an amp and this video is easy to go back and forth to important information.

I appreciate the sharing of information. Maybe a steady overhead placement of your camera would be a good idea. Watching this video felt like I was watching the "Blair Witch Project" movie.

Btw, it's not a preamp tube. Its the Phase Inverter. Some people call it a preamp valve but to me its part of the output section. After the preamp section which amplifies the signal. It simply splits the signal for the 2 push pull 6v6 valves..

These amps are actually pretty good and cheap, just make sure you use the Fuse app to dial in sounds otherwise you are not going to get much you like because not all the controls are on the panel. Most notable by its absence: the Middle knob, and trust me, they don't think you need mids with how it is by default.

Hey Goober, do you have any special setting for this middle knob in Fuse app? I use to turn it to 0-4 if I'm using fuzz pedals

Excellent video! Seems like it was close from the factory, is it because you made a prior adjustment? In general amps leave the factory biased cold.

6:50 it figures the most important part is where it lapses into gibberish Engrish. Also, nothing like learning about a life-threatening procedure, with spastic cartoon music having a seizure in the background, while you're trying to read important instructions. Yay for mute.

Love the video. I am so happy that I am going to be able to bias mine. Can you explain at 6:49, when you says ( whiteout pass, that's is why I said the errors of the multimeter) ?

Is there no way to access the bias pot from underneath the chassis, without having to remove the chassis?

Thanks a lot for the video. It was interesting and you saved me a lot of money and time. I noticed that you have sound deadening pads inside the amp. Did you put mic into back of the amp for the recording? Sounds very nice and without any noise. Would you think it would be worth buying new speaker for this amp or 12 inch cab? Can't decide :D

I have the eminence legend now, its better, the cajun for me is bit inestable, but more powerfull...but the action you want maybe is with a 12'' speaker, thats why I use it sometimes in cabinet, I have one friend that uses the 12 speaker in this cabinet, making some holes in chassis and the cabinet to fix it... the problem is that the cabinet has the resonance for each speaker too...so depends(thats other point of why I didnt like the cajun, cause is more power and has diferent resonance, I mean, it not depends of the volume only, yo will have that problems lower than 5-6), the beauty of this amp is that is so portable... but 12 inch cab always is better for the sound,

Looks like a "FSR" version (Fender/factory Special Run) in aqua Tolex with a wheat fretcloth , its got the Limited Edition plaque on the back. I've just bought one in cream Tolex with oxblood fretcloth.

Sorry but I thing you're making a mistake! The OT is not rated as deluxe reverb amp. The output section is much similar to a Princeton reverb @15W. you should stick whitin fender specs, which is 40mv!

Hi! I would like to ask you, it turns out that I have a Fender super champ x2 which works at 110 volts. It happened that a friend connected it directly to 220 volts without the transformer and it now turns on but does not emit any noise, the F1 fuse was changed and the valves apparently turn on but still do not respond. Would you know where the hand can come from? Thanks!
