    I like how at the end Smith reassures Andrews it's not his fault.

      Plus Andwers defended the Captain. That was petty cool too! Islay was totes wrong when he said Smith ignored the ice warnings. He actually never received them. They were intercepted and some never even left the telegraph room.

    My school JUST preformed this...My best friend was Mr. Ismay. Every one thought he was he was 50 because of his talent but he's only 15! I love this scene!

    Just saying, the actor playing Ismay is also the actor who played Steve Rhoades on the show Married With Children.

      It was interesting how Andrew's came back when Smith snapped. He tried to calm him.

    I actually find it really funny how Mr. Andrews is bald.

      It's also funny that Mr. Andrews is played by Michael Ceveris here and Victor Garber in the James Cameron film(both within the same year 1997), as there are several instances where they ultimately either played the same role, or be involved in the same show, the other's been in.
      Victor was the original Anthony in Sweeney Todd, while Michael would play the title role of Sweeney in the 2005 revival, and both have originated/played the roles of John Wilkes Booth in Assassins(Victor in the 1991 Off Broadway version, and Michael in the 2004 Broadway "Revival" production), and Wilson Mizner in Sondheim's Mizner Brothers musical (Garber in the 1998 incarnation "Wise Guys", and Ceveris in the 2008(and official) incarnation Road Show)(the later two which also involved Sondheim regular William Parry(the original proprietor in Assassins 1991, and Papa Mizner in Wise Guys and Road Show).
      Now imagine if these two switched places and we see Michael's take on the movie's Andrews, and Victor's take on the musical's Andrews! :)

      The musical opened in April of 1997. The movie Titanic came out in December of 1997. Basically the movie came and buried it.

    What does CQD stand for?

    • @TesiaCullen
      @TesiaCullen 6 лет назад

      Like the above commenter said, CQD and SOS don't stand for anything specifically, like an acronym would. Both are basically a general distress call to ALL ships within range of the ship in distress. So it's basically a way of letting all ships within their range know that they are in distress and require assistance so that all ships nearby can respond and they can all work together to find out who is closest in range of the distressed ship and determine who is able to get to the aide of the distressed ship the soonest.

      CQ is a code for “all stations.” D is “distress.” So “all stations: distress.”

      The musical premiered early in 1997. The film came out later that year. The musical was in the works long before the film. I believe Yeston (the composer) has the idea in the mid 80’s when the wreckage was discovered.
