Hello I have a question. I have a duck who is sitting on 3 eggs. One of them seems to have developed spots and when I candle it it acts different. Like the embryo seems looser inside while the other two has no spots and seems to be fuller inside. Is it dead?
Where did you get your blue incubator the one that you said it's more visible to see when they're hatching I like that one. If I make an ask you where you got that one
That one I borrowed from a friend, but she got it on Amazon. It worked pretty good, but honestly the most seamless hatching has been with this new incubator. I’ll share the details if it and unboxing in an upcoming video!
I’m not sure, I have only hatched khakis and recently the khaki/pekin cross and I didn’t notice a big difference in how vocal they were, I’ll definitely pay extra close attention this time around!
I turn them a couple times a day in the beginning, but have found that after a week they hatch the same whether I turned one a day or more. Often egg turners just “rock” larger eggs like duck eggs so perhaps the manual 180 is why once a day is enough. You can candle them daily if you want (when you open to turn them), sometimes I do and other times don’t. Later in hatching like now it is harder to see much because the ducklings are so big so I candle less.
Usually I keep the majority of them, however this year I was recovering from surgery so they were sold to local farms. Many people prefer to buy from smaller hatcheries as they know the ducklings are cared for and loved right from the beginning in a way that isn't possible in larger operations.

My khaki Campbell's are more focal than my Muscovy and my Pekin's when hatching or will tipping to zippering is that normal

How often do you candle them? And you flip them once a day?
I turn them a couple times a day in the beginning, but have found that after a week they hatch the same whether I turned one a day or more. A Libby Life ok thank you so much!
What do you do with all of the babies?
Usually I keep the majority of them, however this year I was recovering from surgery so they were sold to local farms. Many people prefer to buy from smaller hatcheries as they know the ducklings are cared for and loved right from the beginning in a way that isn't possible in larger operations.
Mention to say pipping .
Not tipping
I figured it out lol
Day 17 and none of mine are moving 😔
I hope they are ok! Sometimes toward the end it can be harder to see movement as they fill out the space inside the shell. Hopefully that is the case.
On day 17 I couldn’t see that mine were moving but the next day I went to a darker place and it was easier to see
@@ambera9862 my duck egg has moved about 4 times I the last 30 mins do you think he's ok? This is first time he got a small crack but I fixed it
