We have usually seen the police in the morning on the edge of town stopping riders/drivers. Usual stuff checking early morning drink drivers and docs etc. This happend again when in the Pryenees in June. Speaking to locals they love to stop foriegners as we tend to drink in bulk the evening before!!!!!!
I've biked in the Pecos, Police attention to bikes and cars when driving through the the villages is Normal Normal, breath test and machine check is expected, be warned !!
We are going next year 4 of us - going Santander then Spain & Portugal- have you any ideas or good routes to try out & good roads - been to Pyrenees last 2 times and now fancy Portugal cheers
WT absolute F. I've never had cops check anything like that in all my years of driving a bike. They wouldn't have a clue what they're looking at most of the time anyway.
Nice they didn't hassle you and just let you on your way after checking all was in order. Good cops.
yes, He was very polite and friendly!

I thought he had a bag of sweets.
Did they check your gloves were up to European standards - forget the jargon - as it's a fine if they're not?
Great question! No they didn’t ask about my gloves, maybe he looked at them? I don’t know.

@@Jungleland33 Hi, I have ever had my gloves checked either ....yet! But it is coming ! New laws mean gloves have to meet CE Standards. Ride safe Oly
I see loads of riders wearing no gloves in Spain.
all the more reason why they might start checking gloves soon? !
They are short of funds !
