With your large scale demonstration I can now understand better how these contraptions work. The small table top baubles that you see on some videos are neat, but don't make understanding the balance of forces apparent. As soon as you sit on your stool it was very clear how the parts interact. Thank you.
Because the plane of the seat is not reinforced and so, a little flexible, then the lower apex of the inverted triangle would move laterally to the line joining the other two legs. The triangle with its feet on the base will hold well. Due to the " give" in the seat the stool will suffer a twist too unless the top apex of the triangle at the center under the seat is well anchored to twisting/ rotating of the seat. At 7:44 the distortion of the seat and the looseness of the chains are easily noticed and he stabilizes it with using his feet. I would add a small invisible triangle made of a fishing line to hold the lower apex from lateral motion and maybe a strong invisible fishing line for the suspension chain!
*Wow, that's a great idea! I am excited! I'm going to try to upgrade your stool. I will definitely make a video about it. I wish you many successful projects in the future!)*
Very nice. I love the look of that stool, simple and a little industrial but very slick. Really nice balance. I want one of these in my office so bad it hurts now.
Wow!
Hans-Peter
@ Thanks. I'm on my way (...slowly) to making one. Any additional suggestions will be appreciated. Cheers!

@@Arupnara1000 before you start, watch this video ruclips.net/video/ZlOfNrf1JGQ/видео.html here I explain all my mistakes I made and how to improve the chair.
@ Thanks. I think your original design where you used the chains is still an excellent design. Although, I would recommend that you enclose the "V" shaped legs (top and bottom) in sockets (4 total) made of wood, glued and screwed/bolted. You could make the wooden sockets 1" High x 3/4" thick, mitered on all 4 corners. I would prefer 3/4" x 3/4" for looks. Doing the socket thing will give the legs greater stability after they are glued and bolted. Also, I think you should adjust the chains so they are very stiff --real stiff. As a side note: I built a square "Tensegrity" chair (..still finishing work in progress) and have stiffened the 4 chains and my chair does not wobble. My chair is designed to carry up to 300 pounds. It is very stable. Nonetheless, I still like your design better because of the "V"/triangular shape look. It is compelling to watch. I'm not a fan of using rope; but I will use cables if I have to. ..You do great work, Stephan!

You do realize this is just the central chain taking the load and the other four balancing the lateral movement under tension. No different then a spoke bicycle wheel. The more opposing tension elements added the more stable it will be.
First question, what is the name of your new furry friend, how do you think these things up, could you not give us a wee clue to some of the things like the angle and lengths of the legs, and a comment, you really look the part as a hoodie. Keep em coming o wise one.

The name of my cat is Timo, the angle of the legs are 45°, the length is to long :)

Thank you.
The easiest explanation is that the middle chain holds all the tension from the person/items above, and the side chains keep it balanced
Kastro44 this comment should have 1k likes this made me understood it😂
Absolutely magnificent. And such a compelling video. Excellent job Stephan - this is pure Pöhnlein!
I'm very glad to see you here, my friend. Thank you for your nice comment, I hope you are well 😊
your cat is so chill
Yours is the best and sturdiest ive seen. Mad props
Thank you :)
😊
love the cat snoozing on the stool as you work.
Eres la inspiración que me faltaba. Gracias por mostrarnos tu trabajo.

Superb Stephan 😊 I had an idea that you were planning something like this after showing the concept 😊 Really enjoyable to see 😊 ॐ
Thank you Yogi 😊
Awesome build. Also saw that you have a Tardis in the background. Nice!
I forgot to mention how much I enjoyed your choice of music.
Thank you Mark 😊

Sono rimasto stupefatto. Grande Stefano. Fabrizio 🇮🇹 proverò a farlo ciao
Sehr interessant. Klasse gemacht
Vielen Dank Kurt 😊

I was thinking the same thing. Until the grinder came out. LOL
That centre chain taking all the load? Great job 👍

excusme, how many degrees does the angle cut? 1:26
how is that possible!!!.....very nice work and idea.
Nice, man!
This is absolutely insane
There any available online
Nettes Projekt.
Stephan that is incredibly cool! Nicely done.
Thank you Clint 😊
Clever and artistic. I see a new cat 😀
😊
Basically, the center chain does all the work and the 4 corner chains keep it centered.
Fantastic!!!
Thank you 😊
Olá, boa noite! Belo trabalho e muito interessante. Parabéns.
The tensil force of the center chain is the heroe, all the 4 chains will react as balance force stabiliser only when unbalance loads is added.
Well done!
That was really cool
Super
That table saw looks like it can handle some large pieces for such a small footprint. Is that a custom build table?
Amazing, I must saw. Great job and design. What is the angle of your lap joint you cut on your sled? ..Thanks for the Video. I'm inspired
Thank you, the angle was 60°

if it work is it really impossible?

What hardware did you use to attach the hooks to the top piece of wood so that it is flush? Was it just a counter-sunk nut? Very nice craftsmanship!

Imagine using this principle to make a rope ladder that goes UP
You do realize this is just the central chain taking the load and the other four balancing the lateral movement under tension. No different then a spoke bicycle wheel. The more opposing tension elements added the more stable it will be.
That's actually possible you can stack these structures on top of each other
It's just a question of stability and tension
