Neo center treated WayV horribly even gaslighting them to think they were not good enough. Prism has its issues but at least we are off to a good start with Wayv. I mean Prism is a team that was personally selected by Shinee so i have high hopes. i do know they don't have experience in the China market though so let's see. i do hope this is just the start for WayV finally getting what they deserve. WayV for me is the best overall- visuals, performance, and relationship between the members :)
WayV are definitely treated so much better under Prism Centre than Neo Centre. They used to get pushed aside for the other units, even the new unit Wish got more promotions than them. The staff even told them that they are not popular enough to be given better songs when their lack of popularity is the company's fault.
@@rokmanreactsthey’re honestly more of a global group since they speak 7 languages collectively and haven’t really been promoted much in China and Korea. So their lack of success isn’t due to them being Chinese it’s because of SM or Neo centre in particular not promoting them
Super late but WayV actually have a really solid chinese fanbase that has kept them pretty afloat over the years despite going super long periods without releases (and individually, members like Winwin are very popular in China). So it's not that they are less popular because of being a chinese unit - the c-market for kpop is big - but that Neo centre did the bare minimum promotion in China and even less in Korea. And then they are told (on camera, released to fans) that it's their own fault. Within maybe half a year of moving to Prism centre, they had their first win on a Korean music show, their first real international concerts coming up, their Japanese debut after over 5 years of activity, and much greater online/social media presence. Everyone I come across really enjoys WayV music when they hear it, but most just never have despite NCT itself being so well known 🤷♀I've got tentative high hopes for prism centre, they've done much better already and they treat SHINee well. PS. I really enjoyed your reaction! Getting to hear some of the technical bits/professional opinion is super interesting. Thanks!
@@nemi5778 the way they blamed their "lack" of popularity on the members was so vile omg- each member worked so hard in an industry that is unwelcome to foreign idols like them, I can't imagine what the staff tell them off camera.
0:43 It feels great to see them finally getting the treatment they deserve with this comeback! I just really hope this isn’t a one time thing and sm gives their future chinese releases the same attention.
This definitely written for WayV. WayV is the more dramatic, mysterious and sometimes theatrical unit especially cuz Ten is in it. There's even a mention of "mystic love" in the lyrics which has some parallelism to songs like Miracle and Nectar. Dream songs have younger, more hip and more popular/commercial themes and have to somehow fit Mark (and of course every member too). I can't imagine Mark in this concept and song.
So whenever songs get placed by an artist the company 99% of the time will always change the lyrics to the songs to match the story they are creating for the group or to match what the groups vision is. Also lots of adjustments are made to the production to make it feel like it's the right fit for the group. They're definitely was some moments in the production and writing where a myself is a producer could hear the versatility of the song whereas with some small changes it could fit a few different NCT units it feels great with wayv probably my favorite song I've heard from them in a while
@@rokmanreacts I know what you mean but disregarding the arrangement, production and even the lyrics, the melody itself is very WayV for me. For me WayV songs (as befits their name) usually have stronger melodies compared to other units (except maybe NCT U) while 127 and Dream feel more maximalist and experimental but not so melodic.
@@arien_000 I’m a fan of all NCT units, but especially WayV… and I would have to say that I don’t know if this is true… WayV has their own sound for sure, but calling the other units maximalist and experimental kinda feeds into the whole “noise” stereotype which is so so wrong when it comes to NCT… all units have their b-sides; so I would recommend you get into some 127 and Dream b-sides if this is how you’re thinking of their music in general
@@ONLYBRITTA sorry, I should have added the word "usually" or at least for their highlight songs. I heard many of their b-sides (not their entire discography). So of course their songs are not all maximalist and WayV also have those noisy songs too like Bad Alive. Okay let's be more specific, WayV has more songs with more discernible, coherent melodies (usually with a dramatic climactic point) and just the right amount of complexity in other elements for them to be digested more easily than other units' songs. Other units (especially 127) usually (not all the time) push the envelope more and are way less traditional in their approach. Like that's just the effect of branding on the music they put out. But yeah, they do have their fair share of RnB and a few ballads but I don't know, for me WayV songs are less provocative and adheres more to the classical rules of what makes songs good. Like they bring something new but they are still rooted to the familiar that's why they are less rough and are not disconcerting. I'm not generalizing the discography of 127 and Dream, I'm just saying WayV's discography feels more listener friendly and balanced to me.
Always fun to watch your reaction. Wayv dance style are louder compared to other nct unit or SM as its more contemporary based unlike other more hiphop. It suits thier music style And they have ten, the one known for that. For such concepts these moves for every lyrics makes it so intresting. Especially chorus and dance break.
She A Wolf is SO EXO, lol which is probably why I’m obsessed… especially since WayV has been one of my #1 ults since I got into kpop in 2020… I seriously need them to stick around for a very long time🥺
Love the reaction ❤. Also this is the first time since debut that WayV have had actual promotion after releasing stuff and they’ve had so many achievements in this short amount of time. Which just goes to show that Neo centre was the problem since they would never promote them properly and would even try to make it seem like the members are the issue when in reality it’s because they were not promoted enough and they never made an effort to understand the Chinese market to promote them properly there either so they were just blatantly pushed aside for all these years. Glad they’re with prism now they’re even having their 1st concert this year ‼️

I noticed the Dance moves too.. and also fitting for the song. They probably thought it was OK to recycle.. can't wait for the behind the scenes and Dance practices videos.
