Makes sense that it would end here as there needs time for theory crafting and debate if Cell might end up being influenced by the dragon.
A cell dragon... That is kind of terrifying if you think about it.
That and the potential for he and Porun-guy to Fuse during Buu are, imo, the biggest potentials of this What If. At least during Z.

There's a chance Shenrons and Porunga "Shenrunga" fusion might be permanent cause they are technically divine beings but I don't believe Masako will go with that route, two dargons have to remain seperate in order to protect both of their respective worlds

I always find my self wondering what would happen if bulma figures out geros motivation before the Androids are activated, and she suggests to revive his son and reconcile as a gesture of good will along side an apology from Goku. And this could be an interesting route for gero to slowly join the group in appreciation.

I’d assume “Emperor Gohan” isn’t long for the world. Beerus will eventually look for a Super Saiyan God. This Gohan would surely insult him and lead to the destruction of Earth

That was truly amazing. I've liked Shenron's development and resolve to become Guardian to protect the Dragon Balls. I can't think of a better end for this Act 1. I'm looking foward the next step. Happy New Year, Masako and everyone else.
I can see this going on with Dragon Cell, Shenron making friends with Buu, a Shadow Dragons Saga, Human Toronbo, Shenron fighting Hit,.... So much more can be done in future Acts.

Ooh, Guardian Shenron is such a massive shakeup! Love it!
Makes sense that this is the end of "What If Shenron was a Z-fighter", because he's no longer a Z-Fighter. Now, he's the Guardian of Earth, and I imagine the continuation will reflect that in name. That said, it's an interesting one, a lot more existential than most, but makes sense. It's fun, seeing Shenron as a true character and not simply a plot device. The most characterization we get out of him in the actual show is reflecting on how stupid some wishes are and the slight kowtowing to beings like Beerus.
I "wish" this series continued!

Awesome what if Masako. Thanks for not ending the series just yet. And now that Shrenron has experienced the pain of being a human firsthand, in addition to witnessing Kami's incompetence, maybe it would make sense for him to become a much more involved Guardian than Kami was (and like Kami told him too). Interacting with the people, helping them with their everyday problems, announcing the presence of dangers, etc.
I cannot wait for the next part of this grand series!
Really excited for Act 2!
I hope this will be the one holiday what if to continue in some way. Personally I don't like that the holiday what ifs end prematurely. This would be an amazing story to continue passed cell and into super with when gods start to play a huge role. Hell even in GT this story has a lot of untapped potential with the likes of the black star balls and shadow dragons.
Anyone notice that while Shenlong has a large presence, he doesn't actually do much for the central plot? Both Saiyan fights end the same way, Namek's arc keeps every major bit from rescuing only Dende to SSJ Goku vs Frieza, and now he's taking even more of a step away by becoming Guardian and letting Piccolo vs Cell also go unchanged. Despite everything said, he's just along for the ride.

That's what always bothered me about Kami and the whole "guardian of Earth" gig. There is absolutely nothing that states that Kami or any guardian had to remain on the Lookout 24/7, or that they couldn't fight and be more proactive...
It'll be interesting to see how granting wishes will work now that Shenron is completely unbound...

That would be a awesome story maybe he and prounga could go on grand adventure in space for the balls some of the Z fighters train on yardrat along with maybe Bojack on earth make it a massive new chapter of fighters and action with GT and a movie together.
This is awesome story like that Shenron was able see something wrong with Goku and like that he kinda lectured Goku for take the heart medicine and like that Shenron went with Piccolo see the Namekian Fusion and like that Shenron took The Mantle Of Guardian because feel like it full circle and he becoming Guardian didn't lose his dragon power and The Dragon Balls excited see what Act 2 have in-store awesome story Masakox
Next one: What if Chi-chi or Bulma became a saiyan? I feel like Chi-chi would probably understand Goku better, and on the flip side, Bulma would have that long lasting beauty as well as brawn to complement the brains.
Overall I think act one is good. There were some lulls I personally did not like towards the earlier parts but as Sheron's character development grew I like them better in hindsight. I can't wait to see what Act two has in store :D

If u go into the Buu saga, I’d like to see Piccolo and Shen-Lang fuse together.
If GT continuity is followed shouldn’t the Black Star Dragonballs now be a thing? How would Shenron react to having a sibling(s)? Would he try to do something with the BSD before such an issue arises? Would he know what the cracks meant and be able to repair them? Would his dragon form be more powerful now that he is in control of them since the strength of the dragon was directly related to Kamis strength?
I keep hearing 17 and 18 described as teenagers, and I can't help but think that their counterparts in the Future Trunks timeline should look like they're in their 30s.
He asked me what the dragon saga would be like in this universe with human Shen Long, maybe it could happen sooner due to all the existential doubts and problems that accumulated over the years, Added to selfish desires. Each evil dragon can represent a shen long fear and problem.
This story needs to head into GT later on. Wether it be act 2 3 or even 4 but it needs to be done like you’re Raditz story. I’ve been saying that because the shadow dragon saga is needed here. Sometimes the greatest battle is ones self and that would be perfect for Shenron
First off the love this series so far❤ secondly every time I hear Kami was a failure as gaurdian I always try to remind myself that was only in the English dub his real job is god that’s why his name means god😅

Now with Shenron as the new guardian of earth, how will things continue from here? How will Goku and the other Z fighters react when they discover Lang's new position? And more so, what is this approaching threat that Kami told Piccolo and Shenron? Could it be Cell or something else? Will Shenron still join our Z fighters in future battles? We'll find out on the next continuation of Shenlang's story and beginning of act two!
Does anyone else think it would've been funny if in response to shenron wishing to be guardian, some part of kami's response involved the words "your wish is granted"?
