Agree with your opinion! I love Japan Airlines for their dedicated services. Although it was not a modern one, it was well accommodated to bring the best service to the Customers. Omg cannot believe it is so clean.

9:52 A relative of mine snuck one of those similar red boxes off the plane from a Manila-bound flight. Still like to hold it to this day 😄

Actually, many (if not all) of the current 767-300's in JAL's fleet were purchased toward the end of the production run of this aircraft type at Boeing. Historically, Japan Airlines was the largest operator of the 747. Unfortunately, they found that having so many of this huge aircraft was not economical/efficient on many of their routes. So, they completely removed the last model of this plane from their fleet in 2011. They now essentially employ much of the same strategy that Delta Airlines employs - namely, utilizing aircraft models that best matches the market and/or conditions. It should be noted that JAL was the second airline company to purchase the 787 (ANA was the first "inaugural" customer), but the delivery was delayed over 3 years to early 2012. I suspect a part of the reason for JAL purchasing more 767's was because of the delivery delay, especially since the last 747 disappeared a year earlier.
It should be noted that models of planes nearing the end of production often have nice discounts on prices. DAL uses this tactic, and apparently JAL did the same with most of the current 767's that they continue to operate. As a result, the 767-300's used by JAL are rather young in age. It's an "old" model, but the planes themselves are young in age.
JAL is my favorite overall air carrier (ANA is a very close second) for the way in which they care for, and treat their passengers.

Thanks for the comment! It's really informative, and yes while the 767 is an an old model JAL really takes excellent care of their planes and passengers.

Fantastic trip report. Liked and subscribed. I've flown on a B767-300ER. I think it's a great plane, but it's less comfortable than other widebodies like the B777 or B787 because the seat is a little narrower. The breakfast looked interesting. I haven't seen any Japanese airline serving a box breakfast like that. I have only flown ANA, and it'd be nice if I have a chance to try JAL.

And the price you paid was insane! I remember the day you fly was in the post COVID period when plane ticket was extremely expensive!

Oh no sorry for the late reply! I do think that the 767 is comfortable with the JAL seats. You’d feel like you are flying in premium economy on JAL when other airlines don’t even offer that much space on similar planes

That is a cool flight. I am wondering what times you departed and arrived and the dates for your Tokyo to Vancouver flight. I know that you gain time because you crossed the international date line.

@@dexplorer_vids I expect it to be better, as the amenities in Narita Airport have definitely bounced back, even better than pre-COVID, based on my last time there earlier in June 2023.
