    dude holy shit I applied this tip during a my sesh tonight and I'm fucking flipping it so easy! I actually almost teared up how much time I struggled with trying to understand the flick all I fucking needed to do was open up my hip a bit and it feels like it just flicks on its own. 2:30 You also need to add the force the nose of the skate is making when rising, so the force you have to employ is for example 502g (from the foot for the rotation) plus the Relative Force that the board is projecting while going up.

As a brazilian skater and I'm a bit older than Luan I can virtually guarantee this is a stile choice, we brazilians consider stile as: speed + high pop + catch the trick before land. You have your chest facing your front foot when you kick flip. Looks great but I’m thinking what’s the reason to your technique? If I do any flat ground trick witj my chest is facing my front leg it rotates my body and I won’t land

    looks like your back foot toe is hanging off possibly adding to a more pressure flip-ish scoop. You might find a little more snap on the tail if you don't hang off your toe too much. You can counter balance that change by hanging your weight over your back knee more when you load so that you're not falling backward. Not a pro like you, just something I've been messing with recently.

I put a rock mark at the top left of my board and it made it something to aim my foot at and right after I scraped the mark I landed the first one! Super stoked

    want to know some really interesting physics? so the board is balanced, but also with areas of higher mass. when you press down on tail or nose it adds and uneven amount of inertia into the board. the lifted truck has more rotational momentum based inertia, which actually make it physically "heavier" than the other truck. the "lighter" truck then being able to leveraged up using the axis point of the highest mass. which isn't actually in the center and why good flips and ollies are caught with the back foot pointing down. front foot determines lowest height, but back end should be higher and press to the foot
    there can be a drag, but the flip comes from flipping through the pocket, which curves over your foot at a certain angle, an to the side of the highest mass of the high mass area i.e. the baseplate. if you flip it before the truck it rockets, on or just past will go kind of even, and extended out will actually get leverage on the axis point and rise to your back foot forcefully. if you do it right, you preserve or redirect some of the rotation based inertia up while still leveraging the flip off the side of the highest mass of the reference frame. hardest part is learning to pick you feet up again. if entropy takes over or you bleed too much inertia, them tricks either don't work or are messed up. it's the basis for tricks like nollie front foot flips i.e. initial leverage to inertia juggle leverage to inertia juggle flip...

    I think I'm going to give up on skateboarding...
    I'm trying to do a straight kickflip, but it always turns into a kind of backside flip (Angled). I've watched all your videos about the kickflip, but I can't understand why my kickflips are turning into backside flips. When I try, it doesn't seem like before when I used to land them; sometimes it does a Hospital Flip but it's probably because of my tired foot.
    I don't know what else to do.

    Lately I’ve been wondering why no one talks about the crouch in kickflip. It seems like it should be important yet I’m not sure if I know what is best practice. I see some pros squeezing their knees together when they crouch and others skew the knees in odd ways.

    • @whythetrick
      @whythetrick  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the comment. Knee angles when crouched largely depneds on the stiffness of their ankles. Kindly refer to this if interested.
