First of all the end result is amazing! But the thing about cutting your hair curly is it’s NOT gunna be even when it’s wet or blown out. Ya just gotta shape it dry and accept that it’s gunna look crazy in every other form lollll
That is why you have to choose. Either a nice curly hair cut or cut on straight hair, and look good straight but not that nice when curly as you have different curls patterns on your head.

I get a blunt cut on straight hair. It looks great on both straight and curly hair.
I wear my hair curly more than I do straight, why would I cater to the straight form more when I wear it curly way more?
@@amayas570 Same, so i always do my hair the way she is if im doing a trim or just a regular cut for shaping! ill make it work if i ever straighten it.
As a hairstylist, they say not to pull curls when you cut. Just cut them as they are, but you can lift it up & cut just not a lot of tension.
This is so relatable. I just spontaneously cut my curly natural hair into layers with bangs and I’ve been doing it for hours. Like wetting, drying, styling cutting repeat lol. End results will come together!

You did good! See this is why I prefer to get my type 4 hair blown out and flat ironed to trim my hair. I like the clean precise cut I get and my hair looks great both in the curly state and straightened.
But everybody can straighten and avoid heat damage. Their are a lot of RUclipsrs going to salons and getting heat damage to get a precise cut. I thought when I became natural I would straighten every 3 months and trim but I changed my mind. I use my Revair and trim.
Curly cuts cost $200-$300 here in Cali and I have not found any that really immerse themselves in curly hair. The only curly specialists I know of that I would trust are on the East Coast or even overseas. So if I ever travel to the East Coast I will pay to get it cut. Until then I will be cutting at home.
Oh my gosh! Looks so awesome. This is what I want. I won’t go get a devacut because I have seen the horror stories. I love yours. Now I have 2C/3a hair not tight coils but I love the shape. I’m sorry you went thru hell to get there but it turned out great!

The end result is absolutely amazing. I was stressed out and about to cry with you. I just got my hair cut and colored from a woman that I have been going to for 5 years and she has never jacked up my hair but did it for the first time last friday. It is so uneven and it needs to be fixed but I don't trust her to fix it again so I'm going to try to do it myself. I've trimmed my hair in the past before but nothing too crazy. I'll know when to stop though. Wish me luck.

@@Kimosabe- it went okay. Better than I thought to be honest. It's definitely more even so I can wear it out now and I knew when to stop. Now starts to growing process all over again.
It really is addicting ive done 2 big chops in the last 3 yrs cant believe my hair has grown thicker longer and healthier each time 🤦🏻♀️ got my hair straightened smh so mad at myself and my current issue now heat damage after all that hard work no more heat from now on only straight wigs

I this video was much needed! I cut my hair 4inches a couple months ago also trying to try a different shape and I had a traumatizing experience like urs 😭 and gave up for the time being and jus threw sum box braids in but I’m going to try again tmr trying ur for ur results!
My hair is curly . My curls range from 3a,3b,3c and 4a. My hair is weird cuz some parts are less curly then other areas but its curly. I cut my own hair every month I trim it about Half an inch to keep it clean and fresh. And I noticed it grows faster doingnthat. But your final result was beautiful
So that first curl that you cut is literally my ENTIRE HEAD

I've been cutting my hair for wha feels like every month b/c i get fairy knots and my ends always look bad. i have some gaps in the shape of my hair i just dont trust anyone besides myself to cut my hair
I ALWAYS shape my hair dry. I like my ends to have clean lines and shape. Cutting curly will never get those results and it will look choppy. I'm pretty sure this sentiment has already been echoed. You did a good job with the cut fix and it came out beautifully!

Atp I just let my mom cut it and whatever extra hair I want to cut I do after doing a wash and go atleast 2 times after, that way I can see what else I want to cut. I have the habit of cutting too much of my hair lol but its gets easier the more you do it
I have a method to cutting my own 3c hair, so it was nice to see someone else's version. I straighten mine first, wash it....then go back in and put the final touch up cuts after it hair dries curly

We have similar hair types. I get frustrated with the shrinkage and always cut or perm it once it gets about armpit length.
