"Subsists" = unique and incommunicable (in Scholastic terminology)

I had to listen to the last 20 minutes four times before I could form some sort of cohesive thought about it. It seems to me Fr Smith is purposing that, while this way of looking at the relationship between Tradition and Scripture is new, in and of itself it is not heterdox. I'm left feeling like a lot of the de-emphasis on Tradition by the "spirit of the Council" folks is again a result not of the council itself, but of those who claim it supports their goals. I wish Fr Smith had gone into that more explicitly like he did for Lumen Gentium. The end felt rather abrupt.

I know he is just trying to cover the documents and their history from a rational/unbaised view, but I can't help being annoyed when he mentions the heretics of the council.

Christopher Marlowe annoyed? In what way?

I guess I am annoyed because the priest is talking of heretics who did great harm to the Church without calling them out. I understand that many of these have not been officially condemned and so father Smith does not condemn them either. He is being obedient as far as I can tell. But this is the weakness of the post Vatican II Church: they will excommunicate Archbishop Lefebrve, but not Hans Kung.

Christopher Marlowe trust me he's not a Kung fan but as a diocese priest he can only do so much.

I agree, but we should keep these thoughts to ourselves. There are many good men that are a bit feminine in their manner, but are good men, such as men primarily raised by women. As a general rule of thumb, don't outwardly focus on people's faults that don't really need to be addressed.

I think he comes across really well.
I have never heard of him before or seen him on here so I was wondering does he have his own site?
Father Wolfe seems to be absent much lately and I really miss him.
