- Adam Hurt (banjo) and Beth Hartness (guitar) rehearse at Banjo Judy's house prior to a performance in Albuquerque, April 24, 2011. Cumberland Gap and Johnny Don't Get Drunk.
Holy crap - anybody want to buy my banjo. Excellent in every way Adam and Beth. Love the tempos.
Adam, watching your playing is just mesmerizing. Love it!
Wow. I love how Adam plays Cumberland Gap.
Judy that is a great Chucky Dobson you have there.. Nice to hear those hands playing it .. Love both tunes but the clearity on Jonhnny Dont Get Drunk is great for learning that tune right now.. Thanks for sharing this , Guy
Yep. Chuck Lee banjos are fantastic. However, in all fairness to other banjo makers, Adam Hurt is so good that I do believe any banjo he plays would sound wonderful. This is Adam's favorite of my three Chuck Lee's, by the way. Glad you are doing well, Guy.
GiggleBlaggle - the banjo is a Chuck Lee custom banjo, with a Dobson tone ring. It wouldn't matter if Adam Hurt played a cigar box banjo - still would sound terrific!
Very tasteful inded.
The most wonderful thing about this duet it just proves the point you don't have to burn the barn down with a tune.Better you play it somewhat slower bring the melody out and play it well...I see too many people playing faster than they are really able to play..!!!!
Word ! I love to hear traditionally fast tunes played at a slower tempo. All together different feel to them.
Ashley Turner - The guitar, imo, does not overpower the banjo. Keep on listening, and you'll hear the banjo plain and clear. The two instruments compliment each other, and Beth Hartness plays fantastic accompaniment here.
i know its a home video but the guitar is way too loud on this. Wish you could hear the banjo better.
Those coming here to play along Adam is in : ( e C# F# B C# )
I Tried but I can’t figure out what he’s doing…
