Charlotte Mason advocated to wait to start formal lessons until a child is the age of six. My youngest is an eager learner, so I've come up with a gentle kinderleben kindergarten plan. These preschool years are for gentle and quiet growth. You won't find a lot of workbooks and flashcards and rigor here, but the invitation to slow down, learn through play and discovery, and encouragement to teach your child to wonder at God and His world.
My youngest will also participate in our family subjects, but I won't require him to narrate, but just enjoy as much of the feast as he is willing and able to. we also work on Charlotte Mason habits and chores, and read lots of good books! Come join the feast!

Beautiful video and intro, and thank you for the number stories books, I have gone ahead and downloaded the pdf and went through the first one. It’s a beautiful way to introduce math concepts.

I’d love info about the gloves and knives your kids were using in the intro video. My son (6yo) loves bushcraft/whittling but I’m nervous about a sharper knife than a butter knife. 😂
I’d love a booklist also, I love seeing what others are loving for this age.

My husband is in charge of all weaponry and teaching them how to be safe and smart about their use. We just buy children's work gloves from Amazon or Menards.

A wonderful okdfashioned kindergarten we love in our hone is Christian Lights Kindergarten 2 program. It is so calming, basic and since I notice that we do a lot of the same things with our little ones, so I thought I would share.

I’d love to see your video of favorite kinder books! I have a 4 yr old who’s turning 5 in September, so my plan looks pretty similar to yours! I’m using kinder TGAB language arts and math since it was free but won’t require it; just use it to help introduce or continue concepts we’ve already started gently. Our morning time during breakfast consists of looping Bible, scripture memory, catechism, folk sin, hymn, and manners/virtue (I have sweetly illustrated flash cards with a woodland creature and a virtue, and I make up a story of that animal practicing or not practicing that virtue and the result). I may dabble in narration, but only as practice, not requiring it, though he naturally narrates after a story by wanting to act out whatever we just read

My daughter turns 6 this November. For situations like this, would you go ahead and do a soft start to year 1 or do kinderleben for the whole year?
