Jon Dorenbos, you sir are AMAZING. This is the most amazing interview I've seen not only on this channel, but in years. I thought the David Goggins one blew me away. Wow, this one just took me to another level of introspection, learning, healing, just wow. Thank you for this Jon and Lewis.
This is so thought emotionally Lewis. I could not imagine how it was for you during this dialogue. I can feel here his profound sense. "In my own prison"... the chains we put to ourselves are often the roughest. Set yourself with forgiveness to the past events, RELEASE. Take pain as a weapon... I am speechless.
Lewis always have these amazing guests on. I was feeling so crappy since this morning and Jon just made me smile and shift my energy when he told his story about him and the man in the hospital. I really clicked on this podcast when he spoke about what you tell yourself and what will be seen in the world.
Whoa! This is incredibly moving, difficult, and how beautiful of a man Jon is...He's stronger than anyone I've listened to almost ever..God Bless you, and thank you for being so strong and amazingly vulnerable to share your story
Thank you so much for having Jon Dorenbos on to share his story. As a parent, I always look for inspiring messages to share with my kids (all adults!) about life's meaning and purpose. I thank Jon for the absolute best life advice and applaud his courage and wisdom. Thank you Lewis and Jon. His mom would be proud!
WOW!!! One of the best episodes I have ever seen. He said it ALL! The definition of life and the choices we make, what it is like to always show up and the miracles you get to experience when you do. I am really grateful to both of you. It is shaking up loads of things within me, thank you. Lewis is in total admiration, like a kid, beautiful.
I want to acknowledge you, Lewis Howes, for being such a kind, open-hearted man who listens intently and empathizes deeply. You create a wonderful mix of a fluid conversation and properly structured interview. You bring to life each person that you speak with, while only interjecting personal commentary when highly relevant to the subject at-hand. I've been binging your podcasts lately because they are so poignant and well-composed in a time of my life that isn't those things that... well, it helps me. So, thank you. Really, thank you.
Damn this was DEEP. He hit me hard when he said "I wanted to sit at the table with my dad and feel every emotion about that relationship and I wanted to think about everything that him and I missed out. And everything that should have been having my mom there having my dad there the things he should have taught me how to do. The way I should have looked up to this man. And then I wanted to look him in the eyes and look into his soul and feel everything he did wrong in his life and maybe I'll leave a better father because of it all." DAMN! This was a great interview.
This is the best episode of The School of Greatness I've heard, and there are so many quality episodes. I'd sum it up by saying it's about forgiveness and life. What happens to us in life can impact us, but the largest impact will come from the story we tell ourselves about what happened and how we decide to progress through life there after.
That’s the first time I’ve ever listened to a conversation on football. I’d listen to anything Jon has to say. Powerful advice & an incredible role model. Bless both of these men ❤️
Two heroes sitting at one table... This hour and a half was so intense!!! Thank you Lewis for that powerful interview, you really are a kind soul and a great interviewer. I will watch that again and again. Thanks to the two of you for this life lesson.
miss42310 So many parents out there hurt there kids with every action thinking that there lost in their own worlds, but that’s a lie, we’re always watching what they do, and we always get hurt if they say something to hurt us no matter how our expressions are portrayed. I’m so glad I found this.
Be careful with the word you tell yourself* How you view yourself* How you talk to yourself * How you look at the mirror * How you perceived yourself * That's right there is the Same way you see the world * Same way you talk to the world * Same thing you gonna get out from the world **. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Thank you both for this great inspiring interview ❤🧡
Love this. Love the last story 😭 my husbands has had 4 open heart surgery. My daughter one so far. Mind set is everything. My husbands the one walking around cracking jokes before and after surgery❤️
Best interwiev I heard, my ❤️ it's touched completely, Lewis thank you for this humen, for amazing person in this world, love your podcasts, so greatful for everything you do 🙏❤️🤗🍀🤗
This is one I needed today as a reminder of choosing happiness through the stories we tell ourselves. Thank you so much for both of you being so open and vulnerable. I had a smile the entire time even when I wouldn't 100% understand the football references. It was great energy and it was evident.
Listened to this episode the other day and found it so powerful that I had to come on here and leave a comment. Thanks for having Jon on the podcast. Such an amazing story he shares.
I met him in Vegas my company hired him to talk to us. He blew us away. I have read his book which is so good. You did a great job on this interview. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼.
Hello Lewis & Jon Dorenbos, This is one of the most uplifting & inspiring videos ever; going to share it by email with some family and friends who might also appreciate it. (and also on FB). Thank you for sharing your story truth/life/wisdom. Wishing you continued health, happiness and success.
I watch a lot of your podcasts Lewis. This one is so amazing! I found myself nodding my head "yes" over and over again. Goals....Happy! Pride! Forgiveness! Oh yes ...yes yes 👍 I think this is one of my all time favorite interviews with you.
Hands down perhaps THE BEST ‘mano-a-mano ‘ i.e. “bro” conversation to listen in on. The kind of convo that everyone whether male or female wants to listen in on.. (it’s so great to finally listen to a convo btw men that isn’t superficial & egocentric.). So glad u didn’t cus, cuz it made it super appropriate for anyone from little kids to recommending to one’s 80 yr old mom. 👌
Solo pity partys are the shizzle ! Once in a blue I step off on my own and tear up overwhelmed with gratefulness about the sacrifices my family, especially my grandma made for me and how I was going to make it happen. THEN I fall back into the world and do the work ! EPIC Podcast thanks guys !
This by far was one of the most amazing episodes! I loved it and the lessons I learnt are so valuable and I admire his strength. Thank you both for such a great interview! ☺

Agreed! Jon is an amazing story teller!
I second that!
Don’t think I’ve ever seen Lewis impacted so visibly by anyone.
My favourite parts were when Lewis laughs joyfully out loud!
I’m so glad I got to hear his story on UPW tonight
Forgive others, not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve peace.
Agreed, my man! Inner peace is everything!
