Sunday morning, I was extremely surprised when I woke up to several inches of beautiful heavy wet snow on everything, which was still falling. I smugly thought I'd veg out in my PJs... until I remembered the new shrubs and trees, I had planted last fall. Needless to say, that thought is very motivating... so I got dressed and headed outside with a broom to do what you did in this video. Mother Nature and Father Time need to stop all this Tomfoolery. (Now, that's a really goofy word, if you stop to think about it, lol!) I'm sorry that you lost the top of that beautiful tree.
We are in zone 4a (Edmonton, AB Canada)and probably will see this sight before winter is done, even though it is technically spring! I use the same tool as you to knock off the snow, 🤗Good news winter is behind us and the fun begins!! 3:41
You can keep it 😊 I wouldn't cope, looks beautiful from afar! I will stay in my temperate Mediterranean-type climate thanks. Don't envy you guys at all ❣️
Yes it's Spring and I feel your pain Erin! 😅 Love your humor, too! I live in the northwest part of Oregon, and we have had continual snow, ice, rain, repeat, and so very cold! We can't get a leg up on our Spring cleanup, pruning, and planting yet!
I did the same thing. I feel like a kid when it all lands on my head! Lol! It was pretty! We did have some breakage too. A couple large branches are still stuck up in our huge spruce….right over the house.
Greetings from SE Wisconsin. I usually can put the shovels away on St Patricks Day. It was so heavy to shovel. And now Im watching all these garden videos and they are planting already ! 😅 Have a great day and happy gardening
I'm envious of this beautiful scenery. I moved back to Maryland in August and was looking forward to snow this winter. We only had one barely cover the ground snow , so I am quite disappointed! This is gorgeous! Love your channel and all your gardening information!
We are about to have our 12th atmospheric river here in N. Calif. The rain just won't quit this year. BUT...after so many dry years we're happy to have it. Like you, waiting for the real Spring to appear.
We are over in northern Indiana and have a greenhouse now and is so much more fun with plants. It’s only 16 x10 but can grow everything flowers , roses, and some house plants. I keep it at 72 degrees while it’s snowing outside Get your husband to set one up for you and your channel will really take off
Good snowman snow that wet stuff but yucky to drive in or walk in. Hi to the majestic goofs. -26C in Winnipeg today. Spring will come one day and the next day will be summer!😂
I started pruning my hydrangea blossoms off in the fall. I live in NH, and snowstorms like this actually caused branches to snap off my Pinky Winkys (Winkies?). Leaving the blossoms on just cause too much weight on the limbs. Yes, pretty, but enough already!
Yes, that is probably a fair assessment! Here in Columbia SC spring is in FULL bloom (pollen season 🤧 too!) The chance of temps dipping below freezing has past. My hope is that the spring sticks around at least til the end of May before the Hot& Humid summer arrives. No matter where we are, we can appreciate gardening in all seasons! Happy gardening everyone!
Hate to break it to you, but we in the deep South are having our issues too. 😂 Although, I'll take it over the snow. If I want snow, I'll go to where it is, then head home to thaw. 👍
I'm just over the US border in Quebec, Canada... We've had late snow into May before, hard on trees already leaved out! I've seen frost into mid-June. Feel for you, cause I'm over it already and still have a ways to go, sigh. Going to go start my tomatoes and dream of all the spring bulbs. 🌷🌷🌷
I’m in Stevens Point, the snow missed us! I walked around in the yard and checked all my bulbs, lots of shoots popping up. Knock on wood, we are supposed to get sone snow this week
Same challenge in Central Ontario this week, although to be fair, it certainly melts faster this time of year, especially if we get some sun. We're expecting another storm tomorrow just in time for the weekend. At least the winter sown containers are happy!
WI winter is so beautiful, but the one thing a camera can't catch is snow that sparkles like diamonds. Newfies love it but they also enjoy the muddy season too. Bop away, it is better than being cooped up in the house. I don't do the snow bopping thing. My newfy is blowing his undercoat and grooming him is keeping me busy. I am anxious for planting more bulbs. Daffodils and tulips are starting to poke out of the ground in WI zone 4.
The heavy wet snow creates the most beautiful scenes but is also the most damaging as seen in your yew. I hope you don’t lose anything else in your yard during this snow. Thank you for showing us the snow. 💝
I like to think that going out and wacking my trees with a broom in the middle of a snow storm keeps my neighbors from getting too friendly 😂 😉. Gotta keep 'em on their toes.
We are faced with the same thing here in California along with wind and continual rain. I have 11 plants I cannot get into the ground. Yes, it does happen sometimes in March, but for my area the amount of snowfall was very unprecedented. Also, my poor little boxwoods were being split down the middle by the snow, and I had to get out there and take care of it just like you did with some of your plants.
LOL. This is too funny. Thankfully we have no snow in the Chicago area. Before moving to the Chicago area, I lived in Montreal Canada. Do I ever know about snow.
We were so close, I live in Minnesota, we have the same problem lost a branch on a crabapple tree and my 5' Degroot arborvitae is about 2' right now. 😬
I moved to Indianapolis last March. I expected to see a lot of snow, since I use to live in a south suburb of Chicago. We had one decent snow, that didn’t keep me from driving. I am 68. Funny how the younger people couldn’t make it to work.
Beautiful scene, but sorry for damage 😢 I hope our Norway gets that big 😱 And I find that birds get a little frenzied at our feeders in bad weather. Kind of like a run on milk, bread and eggs 😅
Looks like Michigan lol. I lost the center out of my 20 year old pink dogwood a couple weeks ago. Can you do a video of you pruning your limelights? How far back can you cut them? Crazy heavy snow! 😊
Erin I feel your pain. Here on the front range of Colorado we are used to those types of heavy wet snows in March. It is usually our snowiest month of the year but not this year. It has been cold with just spitting snow the past few day. I did start my seeds today😊
its so PRETTTYYYYY! Eek, I know it sucks wanting to get out there and garden but thank you for sharing!! This Georgia girl hasn't quite seen that much fluffy snow up close
I hear you we had 18 in last week here in Vermont !!! Where is spring !?!? luckily I"ve not had much spring growth but would like to start cleaning up the old to make way for the new growth
It’s a new feeder we got for Christmas. It’s just a rod and you buy compressed cylinders of seed. This was a seed and nut mix that is treated with super hot pepper to ward off squirrels (which is only semi effective).
How clever to use a small broom! I always use my hands and they get so frigging cold. We also had snow and hail (zone 7) though not as much as you did! Looks very pretty! What's in the bird feeder? Hopefully it'll warm up soon for you!
We are in Wyoming, and what you showed is a pretty typical spring for us here as well. Unfortunately, most springs, we end up with some sort of damage from the heavy, wet snows. More Springs than I want to remember we’ve had lilacs blooms already budding up when we would get that sort of snow, at the end of April to the beginning of May. We have 12-15 foot tall lilac shrubs the length of our property and we wait all season for them to bloom. So yeah, my husband and I are out there knocking the snow off! It’s worth it… I think. 🤔😉🥶
It’s a crazy spring here in Sweden too. We have snow coming and going and woke up to 17,6 degrees farenheit (-8 in celcius) this morning. It makes my heart break to see Helleborus and snowdrops laying flat on the ground. They will proboably get back on their feet again, fingers crossed, but it is a sad sight.😔
The scenery is stunning and so beautiful even if there is more snow! Our daughter lives in northern Michigan and they must have gotten the same snowfall that you received first. Your dogs have the right approach - just chill ❤ Thank you for sharing your beautiful landscape. Soon there will be sunshine 🌅🌺
What a WONDERFULLY BEAUTIFUL WINTERLAND SCENE! We here in Maryland barely had a dusting of snow this past winter, my heart is always with SNOW. GORGEOUS!!!
It's so beautiful
Hi 🌺very nice view of snow on the plants like abeautiful painting Have awonderful day .🌺🌻🌺
Don't know how you stand it Erin. But it IS beautiful.
"The sun will come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar ... Tomorrow, tomorrow ...." 🎶
Great reminder to knock the snow off certain plants and trees!
😮Wow!!! Happy Spring
Puppies are happy!!!!
😮😮😮. But it is beautiful!
absolutely beautiful
beautiful
My oh my, so sorry, heavy snow is the worst. 😮🏵⚘️🌿
Sunday morning, I was extremely surprised when I woke up to several inches of beautiful heavy wet snow on everything, which was still falling. Beautiful snow. What a natures do life is better beautiful bold brave to passing moving walking watching
A gardener wearing mittens. That's dedication 🙂
Ohhh, I feel your frustration over tree damage.
Gorgeous! Glad to see you’re knocking the heavy snow off with a broom.
Looks so beautiful!
Oh my goodness! It’s beautiful but I would about be in tears.
It looked pretty satisfying watching those limbs pop back up when you were saving them!
Your pups are adorable!
I am so over Winter too. Love your dogs!!!
My goodness! Although, it is so beautiful 😍 I can see where you’re over it. I know I would be for sure.
We are in zone 4a (Edmonton, AB Canada)and probably will see this sight before winter is done, even though it is technically spring! I use the same tool as you to knock off the snow, 🤗Good news winter is behind us and the fun begins!! 3:41
Gorgeous! I love a world blanketed in snow. We had this Saturday, but unfortunately, it melted. Love seeing your dogs in it.
You can keep it 😊 I wouldn't cope, looks beautiful from afar! I will stay in my temperate Mediterranean-type climate thanks. Don't envy you guys at all ❣️

Having a spring snowstorm here today in New Brunswick, Canada, very pretty, as is yours!
You cold zone gardeners are so resilient!
I'm happy to say that central Wisconsin was spared your storm! It is super pretty, though.
Yup I can’t hear the snow crunching.🌷💚🙃
I did the same thing. I feel like a kid when it all lands on my head! Lol! It was pretty! We did have some breakage too. A couple large branches are still stuck up in our huge spruce….right over the house.

Yeah it's pretty .. sure.. I know I'm pretty sick of it 😂 happy gardening from your neighbor in MN
That definitely is a Michigan spring too. I don’t know what blew through here Saturday but it wasn’t nice. 🌷💚🙃
😲
I'm envious of this beautiful scenery. I moved back to Maryland in August and was looking forward to snow this winter. We only had one barely cover the ground snow , so I am quite disappointed! This is gorgeous! Love your channel and all your gardening information!
I woke up to the same surprise. Thought we were just getting rain. It was Beautiful but it can go away now.😂😂😂
So sorry about your Cedar. 😢
We are about to have our 12th atmospheric river here in N. Calif. The rain just won't quit this year. BUT...after so many dry years we're happy to have it. Like you, waiting for the real Spring to appear.
Wow living in fl can’t imagine... however it’s gorgeous!!!
Dorthy is like come mom play with me.

Get your husband to set one up for you and your channel will really take off
Here in Western NY, March was our snowiest month too. As long as it is not still snowing in May I will be happy.
So beautiful, but makes me thankful to live in Arkansas. I transplanted my onions today. Sunny and 70 degrees here.
🤣 this is my spring as well. Still 6 feet of snow in my front yard and 0 degrees this afternoon. ❤️from ND.
Living in SW Michigan I can relate !
Good snowman snow that wet stuff but yucky to drive in or walk in. Hi to the majestic goofs. -26C in Winnipeg today. Spring will come one day and the next day will be summer!😂
We are also living the bad dream. MN
WoW !! I know how you feel ....am in Bridgton,Maine. I cannt even see my raised beds right now
This is exactly why I retired and went to the south to live. No more snow for us.
We just had the same experience here in Finland.
I started pruning my hydrangea blossoms off in the fall. I live in NH, and snowstorms like this actually caused branches to snap off my Pinky Winkys (Winkies?). Leaving the blossoms on just cause too much weight on the limbs.
Yes, pretty, but enough already!
Spring is simply a calendar date. Whomever decided That .. had to live in the south. I just sit back waiting for Mothers Day ... 🌱💚
Yes, that is probably a fair assessment! Here in Columbia SC spring is in FULL bloom (pollen season 🤧 too!) The chance of temps dipping below freezing has past. It’s so beautiful! But I’m thankful we seldom get that kind of snow in Oklahoma 7a.
😜 so crazy..here in South Carolina zone 7b upstate it is high 70 and actually hot. And with my darn hot flashes I would prefer snow 🥵
I think I'm a little north of you and we got around 15" in that same storm. Thankfull it won't last too long.

Us too! Ontario, Canada 🙄🇨🇦💝. Seriously pretty in December not so funny end of March
Omg! Those snow covered pooches 🥰🥰
I like to think that going out and wacking my trees with a broom in the middle of a snow storm keeps my neighbors from getting too friendly 😂 😉. Gotta keep 'em on their toes.
We in PEI are in the same situation 😢
We lost the top of our cedar too this winter due to heavy snowfall.
The snowy scenery is absolutely beautiful.
Yeah I had a bunch of small branches break off with this one. It seems we might get a little more this week too 😅 I’m kind of done with winter
snow, melt, repeat

That’s crazy weather.
Love the snow on the puppies!😂😂😂
its so PRETTTYYYYY!
We had 18 last week IN ALABAMA! Then it warmed up to 83 and we had tornadoes. Spring is fickle!
I do the same thing when we have heavy snow.
That’s Newfie weather for sure ♥️ we have a Great Pyrenees and I can’t get him inside when we get snow. They love it 🥰
I love all the beautiful evergreens on your property.
It's an enchanted winter wonderland!
It's so beautiful. Hope it isn't heading to Boston!
What do you have hanging out for the woodpecker?
It’s a new feeder we got for Christmas. It’s just a rod and you buy compressed cylinders of seed. This was a seed and nut mix that is treated with super hot pepper to ward off squirrels (which is only semi effective).
I try and tell myself.. enjoy it it’s the last snow of the winter. Dogs are happy tho. So sorry for your damage. Hope you have a quick melt.
Dogs are loving it!
Like here in Russia, Saint-Petersburg
Ugh! I feel for you, Erin. That was me 2 weeks ago. I got almost 2 feet and it’s almost melted. I hope that was it for both of us.
How clever to use a small broom! I always use my hands and they get so frigging cold. We also had snow and hail (zone 7) though not as much as you did! Looks very pretty! What's in the bird feeder? Hopefully it'll warm up soon for you!

I bet you Newfies were loving that snow! Don't like snow, but it is beautiful, for about 5 minutes! Time for green and blooms.

Your dogs have the right approach - just chill ❤ Thank you for sharing your beautiful landscape. Soon there will be sunshine 🌅🌺
I am so sorry my gardening friend! Sometimes Mother Nature just doesn’t make sense 😮
A winter wonderland!
Oh Erin, this is my fear a spring snow. My heart couldn't take it😄
So beautiful! ❤
What a WONDERFULLY BEAUTIFUL WINTERLAND SCENE! We here in Maryland barely had a dusting of snow this past winter, my heart is always with SNOW. GORGEOUS!!!
The snow is pretty, but it can be very damaging to the trees. 😞
Looks like that in Utah as well! I just want real spring! This is cruel!
March snow is a challenge, however seeing the Newfie's makes it all worthwhile 🥰
