    I got the matrix drill & impact wrench when I was broke, & added attachments as needed. I'm a facilities manager, & now have some Hilti, & pro-grade Makita, Milwaukee & Dewalt at my disposal. Thing is, the bag & attachments work really well & are so compact, I still use them all the time w/o any problems. I would't use them for really heavy duty work, but same goes for a lot of prosumer stuff.
    Matrix is a great setup & the batteries are terrific & cheap.
    Btw, the drill has much less runout than my Dewalt XR, & a lot of XR’s have this problem.

    I bought one of these a couple years ago with most of the attachments you've shown (no router) I definitely recommend this unit. The fact that I can throw all these in a bag and put it under the back seat of my truck is great. You're never stuck in a situation without tools. I didn't even know they had a router, and yes I'm getting one now, thanks for the video bud.

    I have their first Gen drill that I picked almost 10 years ago with all attachments with two other batteries and bag. I've used all tools for countless jobs and I can say with the utmost confidence, this is the best investment for a DIY person. Love it. I'd like to pick up the new drill for the built in light and for a second drill to have. I'd recommend it.

    I added these tools to my workshop two - three years ago. Use them weekly. I find them very powerful for the handyman shop. Also added a leaf blower that works from same batteries. I'd about given up on B&D 'til I got these. Now I'm off to look at the bag.

    I have pretty much the exact setup you do minus the air compressor part. I have been super happy with my Black & Decker tools for years now. They really work nice and have been very affordable. I recently picked up some Ridgid tools, since some of the Black and Decker lacked the power for things, but then I bought a 4 Amp batter for the B&D and that really kicks it into a new level. I can weedeat my entire lawn, then use the leaf blower and it's still got charge, all on that same battery. Thanks for the video!

    The Black and Decker Firestorm quick connect chuck (FSD112) is the BEST DRILL ever made. I believe they have a patent on it because i've never seen them bring the design back with li-po batteries. you can only get old ones with older style batteries. i have yet to see a better chuck for quickly changing between pilot drilling and screw driving

    As an electrician that does strictly remodels this is an absolute essential tool. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx0vyBwjtx9GGOuiqUVT2sRoYqmDoNT_RI Being able to precision cut any material with a light weight tool is priceless.I upgraded to this Dewalt 20v from a competitor's 12v. The Dewalt 20v is just as light as the competitor's 12v. I am extremely pleased with the overall performance and battery life of this tool. As far as oscillators go, they just aren't very ergonomic tools. The dewalt oscillators have an offset handle that do make them somewhat more ergonomic than the competitors' oscillators.

    Fantastic job on this. One thing i wish you would of done and yes this is a very minor thing, but, you barely mentioned the router and no demo. Reason i even mentioned that is my you son was recently given the whole kit. When he named the router, I asked him if he had tried it out. He hasn't and not being familiar with the package, I am not comfortable with trying to teach him. But, he will teach me about the device and I will teach him by trial and error how to use the router. Great job and 5 stars and 5 thumbs up. B&D should hire you for sure and for certain.

    I would've designed it in three parts.
    1- the cylindrical motor as the main power part
    2- the tool attachments
    3- the grip attachments and a multi-function table attachment (from table saw to router table to drill press, including the fences, supports, all in one table)
    *The table could also act as a case with handle(s) and wheels, to put everything in. A workshop in one case

    I've been on the hunt for more info on the use of this system and this review shows up on the top of the results.
    After seeing it, my review of this review is...
    Pros:
    1-This is probably one of the few videos out there that truly shows the different attachments, how they inter-change so easily while also demonstrating their actual use.
    2-Kudos for making it and explaining everything.
    3-Very nice that you list all the items and where to get them, some I didn't even know existed after searching on-line. Very well done.
    Cons:
    No cons really, I was going to get the 6 piece kit but now after seeing this video I want to get all the attachments, including that workmate bench. So yeah, not good for my wallet. :)
    Other comments:
    Someone mentioned the Craftsman Bolt-On Grinder (model 9-26993). Only seen used ones on Amazon and ebay, but I honestly can't tell if its for cutting only or can be used as a grinder.

      As for power, the 20v has it where it counts. Most of the tools are actually rated at higher RPM's with the cordless 20v drill motor than the 4 amp plug in drill motor. I have 8 batteries so I don't even notice when one dies I guess.. Depending on the task the batteries last about 45 min of constant use which is usually more than enough. A fully charged drill will often last all day depending on use and ambient temp, Heat can negatively affect battery life. Hope this helps, Thank you for your question!

    I love this set! I just got the BDCMTHDFF hammer drill attachment recently. I like it better than the impact driver. I think the only attachments I am missing are the inflator and the garden shears/hedge trimmer attachments (the latter of which I have been unable to find for sale). I splurged and got the BDCDMT1206KITC 6-piece attachment kit when it was on sale. It's the older version without the LED. I also have the older batteries. I invested in a rapid charger for the battery and even though it is larger, it is worth it. My original default drill/screwdriver attachment disappeared on me (actually 2 of them did) and my trimsaw attachments got stolen twice. Hoping to someday get the inflator, better battery, LED base, and shears/hedge trimmer attachments.

    Thank you for a super informative video. I'm interested to know how long the battery lasts - on full charge and it's lifetime over a few years of use? Thank you in advance

    • @cloudcatmedia
      @cloudcatmedia  5 лет назад +1

      The battery life really depends on the use case, If you are hanging sheetrock it can last all day, or if you are cutting nail embedded wood with the cut off saw it may only last 45 min, It really depends. I have not done tests to failure of each activity to accurately answer your question. My apologies. TI hope that helps a little, and thank you for watching!

      Thank you for your response. I opted to get the drill anyway... Awesome bit of kit. Thoroughly enjoying it. You're right about 45 minutes on the saw. I've found the same to be true for the jigsaw as well.
      I'm thoroughly enjoying it, and use it often.

    i'm guessing the corded base performs identical just with a cord instead of a battery?

    • @cloudcatmedia
      @cloudcatmedia  6 лет назад +1

      Yes they perform very much the same, They don't seem to have an actual measurement of torque for the battery powered units however in my experience they all get the job done. If you are looking for doing hours of the same task like sanding or using the oscillating saw we would recommend the plug in unit as an option.
      Thanks for your question!

    what is the router bit size / shank size

  • @markharris5771
    @markharris5771 5 лет назад

    I have the separate drill, impact driver and sander. I got the combo drill and impact driver ridiculously cheap £70 with the bag and two batteries. I don’t think there’s another set on the market that can compete for the price, but I wish I'd seen the matrix first. I’ve seen two videos on RUclips where people have set out to take the Micky out of B&D and both were surprised by the quality.
    I’m not a pro so don’t need a set costing five times as much.

    Is it still good if i buy them now?
    And will it last long especially for the battery?
    Since they now have the gopak system.. will the battery work with that version?
    Or is there any other good brand that sell all in one tool like this?

    • @cloudcatmedia
      @cloudcatmedia  5 лет назад

      I have seen the go pak system but I do not own or use it. The Matrix Line of tools looks more stout than the go pak system. The batteries on the go pak system are only 12v vs. 20v with the matrix system. Your call!

    How deep can that cut off (circular) tool cut? I need something that can reliably cut 2x4, 2x6, etc. So, 2 inches. :)

      Unfortunately it is only 1 inch and is not adjustable.
