Strong, fast, technical, works hard, defends when needed, draws fowls, creates chances... Seems like a good piece of business to me for a 20 year old. Just looking at poor stats is how people think Gordon was a bad buy - stats are pointless, they depend too much on the team you play for.
That Sheffield Utd side was abysmal, so not sure how you can look at a striker and judge him on pure goals. Isak wouldn't have scored goals in that side.

Definitely some raw talent there. Look forward to seeing how he matures with good coaching and quality team mates around him. You can imagine the lack of confidence last season with the way Sheffield struggled to get any results. Once he gets a goal and some confidence, good performances will come.
Seen most of his games at Sheff Utd. He looks the part, tall and athletic, good first touch and decent awareness. The problem is regards his chances, he either just misses or the goalie pulls off a great save. We've been saying for ages it won't be long before he scores but he never scores. One for the future, 10 million seems overpriced but NU have the money to gamble and to be honest he might turn into a decent PL striker.
Jhon Duran scored 5 in 23 last season and West Ham are about to pay £40m for him. He’s a very similar profile to Osula. If Osula is in that Villa team being coached properly he likely scores 5 in 23. If he comes in and scores 5 off the bench next season he becomes a £40m player. Smart signing and the sort of player who proves context in scouting is important.
Very good point, haven’t thought about it that way. Physical attributes are there for sure. Howe has shown himself to be good at developing players who are perhaps a bit raw, Gordon being the prime example. And with Isak and Wilson’s injury record he should get some good minutes for development
@@tastycattoast8708 Howe wants an athletic target striker because it unlocks a different way of playing. Solanke would’ve been a dream target but for PSR, and DCL was considered as a PSR swap. Blades fan, Osula is quite the prospect, but mostly is still unproven. His highlights look great, and I've always said that in lower leagues or the u21s, he looks like prime r9. But against premier league or even championship defenses Osula looks often shocking. His dribbling is good, but despife being tall he lacks the strength needed. Overall for someone that young, I dont see him as a bad purchase for Newcastle, but i certainly see selling him for 10-15 to be great for Sheffield United.
