I always hated the old suction cup mount and I just ordered the big one suction cup mount. And like you when I ordered it waaay back in 2008 it came down to this and the Valentine One. It looks like the change the charger cable as mine doesn't have the USB port on the charger and you mentioned something about using an App which there were App when I bought mine.
I’ve had mine for 6 years and just like yours the clip that locks it in has been broken for awhile. Just recently noticed the black wire is slowly ripping exposing the wires. It’s still such a solid unit for being so old. I always love when products are quality and last long. This has been proven true for escort. Whenever it goes out if it ever does I’ll be satisfied and move on to another unit.
Great detector I have had one for a few years. The only thing that will stop me from upgrading is their support is horrible. So if you have an issue with it and especially their software don't plan on getting any help. I am looking to upgrade and am researching now. They would have been on the top of the list but since dealing with support I am done with them.

I have the 9500 ci but the blue screen shows firmware update but i noticed this one you are showing is more rounded mine is squared whats the difference? Oh and i have this little 6 button device attached on my center console thats tied in with the radar maybe there's a reset button?
How many devices do you normally run on the daily? I have my iPhone charger going into the UConnect and that's it... I'm thinking I need more devices to run
I have had mine since 2009, and I honestly can't use it anymore. Its unbearably going off every few seconds as if I was surrounded by cops. I think it has alot to do with newer generation cars with their BSM/radar combinations. I will sell mine to anyone for $100 lol
hahahahahhaa.....9500ix is 13 year old detector with no false signal filtering, very noisy on k band, very poor on laser detection, old M4 analog radar antenna, poor off axis detection, slow processor so its not going to scan entire band as fast as new detectors and will miss fast and short bursts of police radar, does not have ka band segmentation. Come on. You must be a slow driver if you dont get speeding tickets with this unit and without a laser jammer like AL Priority. Good luck bud driving 10 over. Suggestion: DONT BUY. Go for: Uniden R3 or R7, Radenso Pro-M, Valentine V1 3.8952 with JBV1 app (only this config), Escort MAX360.
Doesn’t matter how old it is. It covers all of the same technology the police are using that also hasn’t changed in two decades. You have to be the biggest pole smoker I’ve met to not realize it’s still a great radar detector. smh lol

I use the max 360 works great but highway Patrol uses Lazer once it goes off its to late to slow down. So only really works around town.
Use Waze in conjunction with this. They can never hide long enough to get a good spot. Waze users update every cop on the road.

Replace the old escort with a Uniden r3 and alps for laser jammers. The r3 will give you a mile or two more range.

Well it's time for you to up grade. They don't make that model anymore. Look into a Uniden R7 or a Escort 360c. The R7 is a beast.

Shouldn't you run Pop setting off? Ive read it slows Ka and isnt used anyway
