It’s too hard to understand what he’s saying half the time. Even the CC can’t understand it. He’s certainly clever and knowledgeable but that doesn’t matter if you have a hard time following along. Hence the subscriber count. Maybe he should add his own captioning in post production.
Thank you so much for this video! I really appreciate, I was referred by Ted, he helped me throughout the whole process with no extra cost. This is my referral as promised mx076 on wickr or telegram.
I have tried myself to get along with hardware hacking but the contents found are too much technical or lacks where to get started. This video series is a great example to teach how hardware hacking needs to be carried out. Thank You so much keep making. Much love all the way from NEPAL.
This series is looking good so far. I'm about to research a device by hardware hacking it, so hoping these videos will help me progress. Thank you very much.
awesome tip at 13:27, using chalk to improve the readability of what's written on an IC. I also saw pictures of significantly improved photography /recording of PCBs by using polarized light. btw, the rotating zoom at 13:40 gave me TRON vibes :D
This video gives lots of basic info to start , i really like to share this video with my students to understand the basics to advance hardware hacking, i really appreciate the effort. :) Nice presentation keep spreading your knowledge many may get helpful
thank you so much for this series! I've been trying to learn hardware hacking for a while now, and this series really helps consolidate and demonstrate the concepts!
Yes, i loved your video! Just so you know, your English is well spoken. You speak well. Very structured and articulate. When I was learning Spanish, which I am not as proficient in as you are with learning Spanish as you are to English, I enjoyed feedback. Hopefully you do too. Dont think that you arent clear bc you speak well. Better than some English speakers. I could be wrong but it seems like you were trying to speak clearly that you come off as quasi monotone. I say this bc my Italian friends thanked me for saying this to them a while back when they were having to get used to English. They clammed up and they thought their English was awful. It was really good. like yours. My advice to you is to relax and not try to speak well on something you already do well. I said this so you would relax or you will sound robotic. I respect your time and think you would want to hear this. You wanted feedback. I know my Italian friends are so tense when they had to speak English as their main language. When they were together they got so happy when they spoke Italian again and are using their hands all the time haha. I almost learned Italian so I could see them normally but fortunately they got comfortable around me and then they became themselves. They were very happy when I told them and thanked Perhaps I am wrong and I have misjudged. Either way, It is good news for you. I have subscribed.
Thanks a lot for sharing this comprehensive information about gathering infos and sharing your principles as well. I'm a sw engineer and even I don't understand everything I'm always interested what's inside
Just thought I would add some info you may already be aware of. You can also determine the mfg of a device by the MAC address label. The first 3 octets of the MAC address are known as the OUI. Operational Unique Identifier and can be easily looked up wit a MAC address lookup on the internet. Each company has to request an OUI from IEEE before being allowed to sell their products.
The FCC site is such a treasure trove of information. It sucks that some companies have caught on or don't have everything listed because the FCC has let them hide it, but it's still a ton of information anyway.
Hello murrij, yes you're right, the FCC has very useful information, and, usually, it is the starting point in the information gathering. Unfortunately, if a product is not sold in United States, it doesn't have an FCC ID.
where do i begin to learn about all the components you mentioned in the motherboard . I am an electronics engineer doing my bachelor degree and I just know some analog electronics as of now .
Sometimes model of chip/id,partner number is removed (i tried to make it readable) from the surface, is it possible to test or fingerprint a chip (micro controller ) ?
Ciao Valerio, is there a device (a router, a modem, a device developed specifically for studying, etc.) you would recommend to buy for a test environment? To learn how to do Hardware Hacking... Thanks
