Honestly having Joey talk about movie theaters is SO deeply appropriate. Also I like that every AMC employee is just normal but they have a deep voice. Cool choice crew!
No it's not. It was that time with your dad, remember? *That was the most important moment of your life. Or the most significant, at least, right? Remember?
@doom3798me too! my town only just got a cinema again a few years ago and apparently it’s at risk of closing down because people don’t go enough even though it’s actually a really nice cinema. But I think people would rather drive all the way to the Odeon instead in the city because that’s what we always had to do for YEARS. Hey fellow Bri’ish, or I guess for me Sco’ish since the glottal stops in the accent from my town are insane 🏴
as someone who’s been planning to apply for a job at the exact amc they’re talking about once I get my license who’s also a starkid fan I feel really seen by this one
Good luck, hope you get to work there! ☺️ Also I’m so excited for Cinderella’s Castle to drop on RUclips, really wish I could have contributed to the kickstarter or see it in person but I’m in 🏴 This AOAOA is practically made for you 😸
I'm so glad they said my favourite Anson Michael Clark quote! Fun fact (which I learned from Jackson), there are actually two very similar quotes that are slightly changed depending on if you're reading the manual or watching the training videos. Here they both are for any non-AMC Theater Employees who are curious: 1. "Back when you're in a crossroads and you see two roads in front of you: one is the harder one and one is the easier one. Pick the harder one because it's harder to do, and that will get you farther. Now let's make movies!" 2. "When you're faced with a crossroads where one is easier and one is harder, pick the one that is harder because it is harder to do. Now let's show movies!" I really think that the difference between the two shows Mr. AMC's true genius.
WTF! They just improvised an amazing movie in the Clerks/Empire Records vein. This would make a wonderful movie. Paul John the middle aged employee with his super natural ability to spot outside drinks. All the little kids stacked up in trench coats. Twist throwing candy into the counter in slow-mo like the bullet curving in Wanted. While they are filming the really bad movie you could have good actors do cameos as customers interrupting. And deliver truly moving small emotional dialogues, which they promptly ignore and go back to the crappy movie.
As someone who literally works at the amc Burbank I was expecting to see my crew members 😭 not Angela from smosh bro😭… they did a good job with the whole bit of “amc will lead me to a director job” lol some people do act like that😭
I use to work at an AMC and I won’t lie it was a difficult job for me in many aspects to the point that me walking back into a theater is kind of hard for me considering how I and others were treated. Other then that I love talking smack about my time there lol.
Ok but a horror movie set at a movie theater is actually pretty dope. Juxtapose it with a bunch of other movies running as they escape the killer and show bunch of different characters as they are picked off or fight back.
I had a dream that I was the ghost of Kylie was holding a baby bunny or kitten in the air and it was flying next to a baby bird. I wanted to help them because I didn’t know it was her at first (I just saw the impression of a hand of the bunny/kitten’s back). I ran to keep their pace and started counting to stay in time and eventually was able to hold the little animals. The baby bird was super determined to move in a certain direction while keeping that same pace. We got to a temple and at the opening was a woman standing in front of a red portal. I don’t remember exactly what she said but she broke off a handle in the portal and mentioned that Kylie Brikeman (Brakeman, it was too specific a name for me to think it was talking about no one in particular) was holding the animals. I broke down crying and said, “Kylie [Brakeman] was holding them… she was holding them the whole time!” I got Graham Chapman vibes from it (the member of the Monty Python troupe who passed first of the six), but it may also symbolize a debilitating breakup of some kind. I don’t know. I just felt like I needed to share this. I hope she’s okay P.S. I turned onto a “Collins St.” before I saw the animals floating in the air if that’s significant

11:02 "glass stones throw houses" is so good
was going to say that, had to go back cause at first I thought I misheard it.
joey AND lauren in two weeks?!?!?! oh this is it for me i can die peacefully
This one is the first one where there is a real possibility the real people working at the place might watch.
idk, musical theater majors was two weeks ago
This is the most important moment of my life.
Hell yeah.
This is also the most important moment of my life.
I audibly gasped
No it's not. It was that time with your dad, remember? *That was the most important moment of your life. Or the most significant, at least, right? Remember?
i couldnt breathe the final 15 minutes i was laughing so hard. could really use the communal inhaler right about now.
Yes and…I was on a cruise 😂😂😂
I love when everyone starts making LA specific jokes in AOAOAOA episodes, so an episode that's just entirely LA specific jokes is perfect for me 😆
Me watching this as someone who lives literally across the country 😐

Me who lives on a different continent
As someone who worked at an AMC for 5 years, this is very important to me
as someone who’s been planning to apply for a job at the exact amc they’re talking about once I get my license who’s also a starkid fan I feel really seen by this one
omg wow!

@@TishyRosesame!!!! I got to see it live and it was fucking AMAZING I can’t wait for everyone to be able to watch it!!!!
“You can’t mrs. Doubtfire, Court” is everything

Anson Markle* Clark
Hanson Markle Clark😂😂
Left:
Out - Jeremy
In - Kylie
Right:
In - Joey
Middle - Patrick
Out - Angela
Finally a win. The intro gave away Kylie and Jeremy, but a win is a win
yay! you did it!
You’re a fascinating type of person never stop
@@JoshDudley real
@@JoshDudley For a games centered podcast, it just feels right
Congratulations! I've been rooting for you. Are you still going to continue?
this is a top tier episode, the « yes and i’m on a cruise boat » bit killed me
my mouth *dropped* open when i saw this show up on my feed
Omfg I love how hyper specific this is. Being able to see someone having an outside drink from a whole other movie theater is an awesome ability.
Wellbutrin being mentioned every other episode now😂
My favorite part of Runtime was the real time director's and cinematographer's and script supe's commentary
Getting the husband first then the wife is crazy

Hey. Let’s absolutely go.
i love how patrick went from cunter to gunter
Runtime is actually a really good name for a horror comedy
This is the hardest I’ve laughed at one of these in a while. Excellent
As someone who literally works at the amc Burbank I was expecting to see my crew members 😭 not Angela from smosh bro😭… they did a good job with the whole bit of “amc will lead me to a director job” lol some people do act like that😭
Ok I'm SO glad I actually watch these videos and not only listen to the audio because this was fcking hilarious 😂
Not me literally going to an AMC theatre for the first time tomorrow
this is so cineplex teen coded
Y'all were working at AMC ATE on this one
As an AMC a-list member I am very excited
im eating popcorn rn
how fitting
Also yay Joey!!!
I will now in the future whenever I run say to myself; "It's runtime".
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR JOEY
Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed mention LETS GOOO
Love your stuff Joey❤
i was SO expecting joey to do the Black Friday movie theater kid voice
describing sketchy AMC clientele as "teenagers cheating on their partners" is one of the most hilarious things ive heard
I use to work at an AMC and I won’t lie it was a difficult job for me in many aspects to the point that me walking back into a theater is kind of hard for me considering how I and others were treated. Other then that I love talking smack about my time there lol.
NO WAY
courtney 😐 don't cry 😐 courtney 😐
I wouldn’t have pegged Courtney Miller as an AMC worker but I guess you learn something new every day
As someone that works retail with a bunch of movie lovers this feels so fucking accurate 😂
This is SOO good. :)
Amazing ep 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is a very hinged episode, worth sending to the podcast network bigwigs
I’m late but I’m here 🥺🫶🏼
oh good, right off the bat we have kylie speaking nonsense about LA geography
This good
someone brought barbecue and a bib and just ate it at a showing of maxxxine in my local amc lmaooooo
When you're in glass stones don't throw houses 😂
Okay so I’m not a starkid person so I don’t know if this is his real voice but he sounds just like griffin from blank check.
yep, that’s his natural voice! you should hear the character voices he does!
Made it to the end! (Just kidding!)

Yippeeeeeeee
Wait till they find out I bring SushiStop into the AMC 16
OMG I thought it was Peter from Smosh on the thumbnail
Angela can spot and outside drink due to experience smuggling sandwiches in college
0:57
Joey richter and Riley from hivemind are gonna go full parent trap someday
1 view in 21 secs dang really fell off 😢
Anson. Michael. Clark.
Just a tip. I've heard thumbnails are more effective when they highlight only 1 or 2 people. People click on them more.
The word "movie" is deeply stupid
i think it comes from “moving picture” but i agree!
30:06 And im never gonna letcha
