Hi Brad! Can you make go into more detail on what a “risky” decision looks like? When you approach a script, what do you recommend doing to prevent playing the obvious and going the safe route? Thank you! Love your videos so much.

Hey there! Let me give you an example. When playing a villain, instead of the usual scary vibe, you might try to flip the script and make the villain surprisingly nice. It not only would defy expectations but would add depth, making your storytelling truly memorable. And remember, honesty is the key to connection.
Choosing the unexpected might feel unusual at times, but often our instincts guide us to the right path, and it's worth embracing that creative instinct.
I found a few more videos on this topic for you to review. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and don't hesitate to share your own examples!🙂

    Hello,
I am the one that got into Laguradia HS in (nyc) for Drama
i have noticed that when i am in front of many people i tend to preform better then when i prepare. (for ex: before play my acting is off, while preforming my acting is more effective , my voice is more clear, my charecterization is a lot better (*i do not how to explain*).
my question is why do i preform better in front of many people, (is it because of my nerves)
i am curious to know because it is very frustrating to preform in front of mirror and feel like im doing bad, but preform on stage and nail my piece.

      +ChickenNoodle Soup ,
Hello, and thank you for your support to the channel! I am not entirely sure why that happens for yo but it could be that when you are on stage you are now executing, and no longer preparing. It sounds like you are letting go and trusting your work, which can bring out new colors that you didn't specifically plan. It's a great thing! Also, I would recommend that you stop preparing and practicing in front of a mirror. This is a habit that will only work against you. Hope this helps! Stay tuned for more acting videos!

    Hi Brad,
Thanks for making these videos for us. I am soon moving to L.A and I want to be an actor. I am only 11 and would love to be an actor, but I dont know how to tell my parents because my family doesn't believe acting is easy and that I wont make it. Should I tell them what I want? Can anybody answer me please?
    P.S make more videos please.
    Thank you, Omar

      +Omar Hakam ,
Thank you for your kind words and support to the channel! You sound very eager to become and actor, and if it's something you are passionate about we encourage you to pursue training. The industry is very competitive but if you never try, you will never know. Acting lessons would simply be a way for your to see if you enjoy it, and want to continue working on the craft. When you move to LA, you can always audit a first time class for free @ the North Hollywood studio, and you can bring your parents along with you. In the mean time, maybe you can look at our website, read up on the technique, and why the Heller Approach has been so successful for many of the students who attend. We have some great testimonies on the page as well. www.thehellerapproach.com Let us know what you decide! We look forward to hearing from you. If you would like to contact us directly you can fill out your information on the 'contact us' page. thehellerapproach.com/contact/
      Best of luck!
