It's mainly because there areany dead body's in most of the video that needed to be censored out of respect to the victims family. The original video is 3 hours long. These poor girls had to sit amongst their dead raped friends for hours before these monsters loaded them into trucks and stole them into gaza. The terrorist even took a prayer break while the girls where bleeding against the wall.
What kind of people demand to watch unblurred, uncensored inhumanly violent videos, to watch the victims horror and suffering in its whole, to watch their faces and expressions? Where is the empathy for the victims?
Especially since it caused trauma to every internationally selected person who had the opportunity to watch the videos?

I want to clarify that the images are terrible, and I don't think anyone disputes that but, how come 5 female soldiers are (suddenly) described as "horrified innocent, unarmed girls"? Am I being biased? I've already seen (and reviewed) the video and, honestly, I don't see any sign of "sexual violence" in it... without a doubt, the images are shocking (and that's why Israel kept them and waited 5 months before releasing them, knowing (calculating) the impact they would have on the Israelis (especially on the families of these girls). I cannot help but highlight the insensitivity and cynical calculation that Israeli propaganda demonstrated in this temporal "management"!
National service is mandatory in israel after you are 18, one of these girls is on her very first wk. They are field observers who are not allowed to carry guns an have had no weapons training.

Although there is plenty of red paint throughout this conflict the fact remains that the pre-eminent obstacle to peace is Israel's colonisation of Palestine.
There is no Palestine. The Romans destroyed Judaea, they killed or massively deported the local population (hence the Jewish Diaspora), and established there a province called Syria-Palaestina (after the Philistines, an Aegean population!) in order to obliterate the Jewish heritage.
War is hell and there is no war that has not done anything any different.

There are rules of war however and one of the key ones is not to take civilian prisoners or even non-civilian prisoners who aren't in armed combat, and none of these girls were; they were ambushed while sleeping in their beds on the base, all unarmed. Another is not to physically or s*xually abuse prisoners, even legit prisoners of war. POWs must be treated humanely, given adequate food, water, shelter, and medical care, be allowed Red Cross visits, and be allowed to communicate with their families.

If people in the media care about preventing these events they should be very careful when they report what is happening, and aim to establish peace in the region. Biased, rage-provoking coverage of the news is one of the things that has allowed this conflict to persist.
An Israeli could easily look at this report and decide to retaliate, making the conflict even worse. I'm pointing out the obvious here.
