    I mostly use my shotgun for 3 gun but for practice will do some 5 stand and even done some sporting clay tournaments with my friends who do that full time.
    I take my 940 pro and stoeger 24 inch and do well with them. Had the highest score on the team last tournament and pissed off several over under guys with the longer barrels. I use the briley extended and ported chokes.
    I did however just buy a 28 inch over under and see how i do next time.
    I get so many mean looks with a black and gold 940 and black and red stoeger with +12 tube extensions at a clay tournament. The range guys say i better not see you load more than 2 shells.

    Great Video as always. To be honest I wish they were a little longer at times and a little more detailed for the shooters with more experience. I’m betting you have a wealth of untapped knowledge you don’t include in order to not overwhelm newer shooters. For instance (and I know you know this) barrel weight plays a big factor in picking the right length as well. As does the discipline. For instance, I have a 28” “sporter” that swings slower than either of my 30” trap guns due to it having much heavier choke tube barrels. My “international trap” gun is the fastest of the three with my old 30” Browning special trap being in the middle. It would be interesting to know what barrel weight you recommend for the different disciplines for intermediate level shooters vs advance and that type of thing. But I realize it gets technical fast and the nuances are basically limitless and much is shooter preference.
    Anyway, as always, thanks for taking the time to put these out. I really enjoy them when I can’t be out shooting 😁👍🏼👍🏼

    I purchased a shotgun with a 21" barrel...I do alot of bird hunting lime partridge...I like that it great in thick brush and it's a light rifle...however with a mod. choke what can I expect for distances with a reasonable pattern (shorting #4)? Is this barrel too short to hunt with? Thanks

    • @GoShooting
      @GoShooting  3 года назад +3

      Hi Sean, it's a great question. With #4 shot you will get a bit extra range, but in reality once you hit 40 yards you will start to have some serious holes in a modified pattern with that shot size. Is 21" too short for hunting? In tight scrub it's ideal, to shoot high flying partridge it's less than ideal, but if I was a partridge I still wouldn't want you shooting at me with a 21" barrel(even at 40 yards) as long as you know how to point it straight :)

    Hello - if a trap shooter is one-eyed, and thus has to move the barrel faster once the flash of the target is seen, should he/she use shorter barrels than a two-eyed shooter would?

    • @GoShooting
      @GoShooting  Год назад

      Your argument has some validity in theory as anyone that is forced to hold on top of the trap house will have to move the gun further to break the target than a two eyed shooter that can start their gun well above the roof. Generally barrel length in trap is guided by body size and strength
