- Thanks to Auto Vogel AG in Switzerland Cor drives a NSU Ro80 in this episode from Driving With Gloves. The NSU Ro80 was the technically most advanced car of the 1960's. It does not have a piston engine, but a rotary "Wankel" engine.
Well done on a brilliant video on one of my most favourite cars ever made the incomparable NSU RO80 it was light years ahead of its time such a shame it was not more successful
Thank you very much for the compliment!
A very pretty car, miles ahead as it was introduce in 60s
Audi definitely took their styling cues from this car.
Yes, the design of this NSU was way ahead of its time.
Such a beautiful car. I owned a Ro80 in about 73/4. little did I know the seals around the rotors were already on the way out.. However I agree with you comments about the design, the smooth running of the engine...It was a very advanced car in its day, the body design is still relevant in terms of wind cheating...
I like the wind cheating 😁
NSU went bust because of warranty claims on the wankel rotary engine.
It was a real problem that even engines which were not broken at all, were claimed to have problems.
A simple car but very elegant clasic one...and you nice in your gloves ¡¡
Thank you Victor
A very balanced look at an amazing car. Well done!
Thank you very much.
Subbed.
And sir, I like your style.
Thank you very much
I love that car. My RO80 is in blue and makes a lot of fun
You are lucky to have one!
Hi Cor, again a nice vid. Did you know how the RO80 driver they greeted each other?
They greeted with 2 fingers up, 3 or 4 fingers up! They mean that they replaced 2, 3 or 4 times the motor in his car! 😂
Btw. a beautiful environment where you live!
Hahahaha
It was because of this issue that NSU went out of business and VW bought them: VW got their first water cooled engined car, the K70 from NSU.
@@1963TOMB Thankx for the info, I did'nt knew that, interessting!
Audi's 100 continued some of the NSU's styling cues. Nicht scheisser übergänge.
It did, but the styling director of the RO80 Claus Luthe went to BMW and you can clearly see the RO80 in the older BMW and vice versa
Can i offer one piece of constructive criticism? The interlude music was way too loud when you were speaking, it detracted too much from what you were presenting on. Otherwise a very interesting video on a fantastic car.
I am sorry to hear that. On the devices I use it was a steady sound
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars, trucks and busses including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.
It is a horrible vision! I do not mind if people are driving E-cars, but it should be free to choose. It is very ought, for the last 50 years it was always said that you shouldn't use too much electricity and at once it seems no problem anymore how much electricity is used!
Wrong, what people shouldn't do is allow those dictators to control our lives. People just need to band to together for a cause and government pigs can't do anything
If you accept being oppressed then you're weak
Simple is beautiful.
As I already said in the video, it is not my personal design taste. But from todays perspectiv it is quite refreshing. And the design was futiristic in it's days.
❤️💯
Thanks a lot Collin
Best Regards from Brazil! I really liked this video. Congrats!
Obrigado!
This is car, beautiful, today cars are just tablets on wheels
I am glad that you like it, because it was a revolutionary car in its time.
