Been following for few months now ... everything on you channel is so bloody relatable ...I'm six months in at the ripe old age of 42 watching your videos is literally myself genuinely enjoy ya videos mate!!! Skatings the only thing I've found that's kept me sober through choice I now knock off to skate instead of going pub I love it best fathers day present I've received.....its actually starting to click now that feeling of elation landing something is uncomparable....keep posting mate
@Ungracefulmovement wish I never just sat playing encouraging dad and camera man for 8 years with my lad and just had that self belief I'd be sooo good now .....well I'm savouring every moment now for sure pure escapism for me !!!
Something you didn’t give yourself credit for enough I feel is your mindset shift with skating. You went from a more defeatist mindset to really wanting to battle tricks and not being as frustrated when you landed them. Really good work man!
Triple 3. Thanks for the vid, excellent summary! A complete beginner here at 36, had to realise that skateboarding is bloody hard, but still worth it just to get a tiny bit better after each session. Keep going, looking forward to the next one!
Hi I’m not new to skating - started when I was 8 and am now 61 but your clip reminds me of every time I get back in the board after a break - I feel the fear - but I’ve learnt to give myself an hour to warm up, bending, jumping etc takes a while for the body to get used to but it all comes back. I always wear wrist guards and also knee pads at the park or ramp - had too many slams not too. But after the fear there is the the fun, the exhilaration and sheer joy of it all - there’s a boy in me who can’t give it up - keep rolling.
Triple Three. Great vid, love to see your progress, and your attitude is an inspiration. Big ups from this 50-something who's still out staying young on a plank with wheels ;)
Another good one man, like the recap and it’s always good to remember why to skate and all true - the community’s been amazing and definitely keeps me going - cheers!
Just watched this after coming back from a very mediocre session. Inspired as usual, and fully reminded why skating is so great, even at 43! Keep rocking it man!
I started skating again at the end of college 9 years ago and I relate to this. I am happy to report back that skating can still be way too much fun after many years even for those of us who don’t pick it up naturally. Skating gives me a reason to get out and be physical which is great by itself, but that moment when I commit to something I’ve never tried before so I don’t even know what the bail feels like… that is the best moment. Because the fear never goes away. You just find ways to convince yourself to overcome it. Overcoming fear make brain happy. Simple as that.
Hell yeah! 1st time ive come across your channel just started back skating in November i cant understand why i ever stopped skating for 21 years, feels good to fall back in love with something which dosent have chlamydia attached to it! 😂
Nice round-up, the warming up part made me giggle. Resilience was so true, trying the same tricks over and over, across multiple sessions, and sometimes you make a small progress. But it all pays out in the end, when you finally land it, and then again when you see that you have mastered it. Best feeling! Have a nice day!
Started riding 3 months ago, when I turned 50. Best thing ever!! Can't go to skateparks yet, because of winter, but can practice inside at work. Taking notes of your progress, so I can be ready for the summer 🛹🤘
Get it while you can! Had to force myself to go to the local indoor at 50yrs old, fully padded, total beginner… worth it! Been talking about the session for 2days😀.
Great roundup man, and a solid set of reasons to start. Been amazing watching you push yourself, can see the progress. Looking forward to another year and a whole load of summer sessions 👊
Triple 3 ps I have followed on instagram! Loving the videos glad to have found your Chanel for inspiration as a 61 year old who hasn’t skated for over 20yrs and just started again last couple of months
Loved that moment when you were look around for /then undesirable/ spectators before the caveman, but also you did the same _after_ the successful movement, but this time because of joy. Now maybe that's something what sums up skating quite well.
Awesome video, great kickturns on the bigger ramp wow. Enjoying skating is the key. I see you battle with Ollie onto mani pad, smae here mate. Great rock to fakies and 5050 btw 08:05 where is this?
I have that deck from Triple 3! Well a version of it anyway, love the graphic but maybe not my size and concave choice 😂 Great roundup of your progress and what skating means to you. 'I don't really want to do that again' was probably the most relatable bit 😅
@Ungracefulmovement 8.25 high concave, can Ollie over the moon but anything else it just wants to go primo on me 😆 deffo a skill thing rather than a deck thing, decks are great
I started skating at age 38, together with my seven year old daughter. That was ten years ago and we still skate all the time. I need to warm up though, like a lot. 😁
I’ve seen the videos. You guys are great. It’s incredible to be able to get 10 years of a skill starting late. I have the same with basketball - had to learn how to shoot and dribble at 35… been 10 years now (still terrible)
Brooo when i see you ride, I want to go out and shred to man! but there is snow here so i can't :( So imma stay on yt and watch you skate! Love the content
Hey bud, your doing well mate, keep it up, I'm 36 and started skateboarding again after 20 years, it is tough but fun, now I'm older I feel like I can understand the science to a trick instead of being young n dumb n hope for the best, I'll recommend skate iq RUclips channel his instructions are very good also for beginners, might help you unlock some more tricks... love the channel fella, stay loose....
I agree 110% dude, there's no better feeling than conquering a trick no matter how technical or simple. Keep pushing dude, love watching your progress! 👍🛹🤘 P.S 333
i'm 52, started skating again three months ago, loads of small injuries, and one big slam ten weeks ago, i broke my right hip on a sketchy kick turn, had emergency surgery for a new hip, physio is tough, but i hope to be fully recovered by summertime!?!. ... great channel dude, nice deck, Triple8 (followed!)🛹🇬🇧👌🙂
As a 39 year old that started skateboarding last year it's really nice to see someone else in a similar position. Is the ungraceful movement grip tape you had ever going to be up for sale?

Such a great observation
cheers dude. i'm working on mindset a bit more too
yeah
Nothing more relatable than hearing you convince yourself it should be easy. Top work, top channel.

haha my self talk swings from supportive to insulting
@ least it’s honest
I'm 47 and still trying to go out and skate steady style. Can't stop nothing feels as good and it's free. Triple3. Keep up the good videos dude
addictive as hell isn't it

Fear is my biggest enemy, and the mind killer. So it’s a constant battle.

Glad you found it! I mean skating still hurts, less so with protection.

Haha. Winter in Norway? Or what we’re calling winter in the UK?
@@Ungracefulmovement That would be the Norwegian one 🥶 But another 4 months now, and the skatepark will be free of snow 🤞
@ damn. I’ve been to Norway in spring and there was still snow
Great year round up, loving the series at the moment really motivating in the new year. Triple 3 !!!

Amazing ! Not much happens on my insta. Wait… 20 years, so in your 40s before?
@ yes that’s correct used to go with my son instead of just standing watching at the skatepark then before that late 70’s when I was a kid lol
