Great video, do you know which speakers it connects to? Does it include the little one close to the windshield? Also does it show anything on the guage cluster display? what track is playing etc...
It connects up to the stock wiring. The Center dash speaker splits between the front speakers so yes, this does use that speaker. Data is sent to the gauge cluster. So the radio stations are displayed there. I’ve not tried the CD player but I’m assuming track info would also be displayed. Also I was able to map all the buttons on the steering wheel to specific commands. The stock radio did not allow all buttons to have a function.
Yes Steering wheel functions work out of the box. There was a setting that needs to be set with the Android Settings menu. But after that the buttons on the steering wheel can be programmed to many different functions. The steering wheel now has more functionality than it did stock. For instance by pressing the volume button I can mute the audio.
I would agree its not great. I am a sound expert but there is a multi channel equalizer that comes preinstalled. I installed Poweramp as my music player and it has a lot more customizations available and I totally recommend using a 3rd party app. One thing that really annoyed me was the radio app is kind of ugly. Unfortunately Xtrons does not let you use a different radio app. My Motorola phone came with a much better radio app and I wish I could have used it on this device.
Haha. Thanks man. Currently working on two more videos the the Xtrons. A deep dive into the connections on the back as well as App alternatives and basic unit configuration. Take care!

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it! Have fun with the head unit.

Did you get the steering wheel functions to work? If so, was that plug-n-play or did you need a special adapter? Thanks!

Wow, that’s nice. Thanks for the reply!
Does it have apple CarPlay support? Typically with such radios there is an option to connect external module by usb and use CarPlay
I believe it had an extra module you could purchase separately from the head unit.
Thanks for the video! A year later but, how is the sound quality with this? I heard it wasn't great but I doubt the guy that told me this?
