Kleem is a one-syllable sound known as a bija mantra and is associated with Kamadeva, the Hindu god of love. In some Hindu traditions, Kamadeva is an incarnation of Lord Krishna. Kleem is chanted for its power of attraction.
From my point of view, It is not so much the words, but it is the loving heart and inner devotion, the attitude, which will make it effective. We send messages as emotional vibrations to the universe. You could sing any words, as long as they come from the center of your being, your heart, with pure love and inner innocence! The universal rule is that you must, first, love your Self unconditionally, the way you are now, then give freely to all who need your help, unconditionally, and as a result of that inner and outer attitude, the universe will return all the blessings to you, and the circle is closed! Peace be in your heart and in your life ! Namaste!

your point of view, however, is not applicable. words do matter, especially in the sanskrit language, and even more specifically in the context of the vedas and everything else they entail. the universe does not and cannot sense our thoughts as much as it can sense the energy from the words we chant, which is why using the right words is important. it is the right way to get the attention of the universal pervasive force.
Love yourself "first" is the biggest lie told in modern times. I or Swayam is foremost that we are asked to let go in the path to realization. How can you be a healthy ansh or part of the universe/god when you are trying to be god yourself?
