- A couple new mods for my 2019 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2. Method race wheels, truxedo lopro bed cover, sportsbar and nilight light bar. Decals by @jlocustomvinyl on instagram
That is like the exact amount of modifications a Colorado needs to get that perfect look you have in there, congrats.
Got my ZR2 about 2 weeks ago and have been plotting on replacing all of the bolt in the roll bar with stainless just so I could put a plate behind the zr2 painted red and the thing wouldn't look hokey. Now I see someone else thought it would look good in red as well... was hoping that it wasn't just me. Looks good bro.

What a beast. Wish the tech inside was better. I'd like a push button start and more modern digital gauges. Can't wait to see what Ram does with a midsize. I have a Dakota now, so ready for something new but for 40 grand I have to love everything about it. Beautiful truck.
Yeah true. Only thing its missing for me is the push to start. The center gauge info box and all the offroad features is way better than the jeeps and tacos. Navigation is awesome too.
Chevy missed the mark on interior for this truck.. 45-50k brand new should have all the bells and whistles.. Including a sunroof!! Every hit the trails with the sunroof open?? Pure Living!
Heated mirrors would help.

Nice truck! I have a zr2 and love it. Tempted to add sport bar but I completely don’t understand the execution of the lights that would mount on it. You would think the idea is to flood light the entire area in front of you but they do not mount high enough to do that.
Love the ZR2. I’m a Jeep guy, but would really like to add a ZR2 to the garage - probably need to wait for more used ones to hit market.

Just bought a 19 in black. Awesome truck. Tinted the windows and swapped out all the interior lights to leds so far. Toyota guys are always gonna hate.... Don’t know why

James Wisrik far from jealous. I owned a Rubicon and it was a cool vehicle but it pretty much lived at the dealership. I learned to grease the palm of the service guy in order to get things fixed. I’m not hating at all. I’m a fan of many brands. You gotta relax, I was just stating your going to pay full pop plus to get one. Jeep acts like they are selling water in a desert. If anyone sounds triggered it’s you. Ahhhh
@James Wisrik traded the Rubicon for my zr2 and never looked back, 50k vehicle couldn't even drive down the street without given me a headache, 11mpg, an outdated ass radio screen and headache along with dog of an engine, no thx.. overpriced mess, enjoy the fiat
That's truck is sweet. Definitely wouldn't go any taller. I would put some armor on it. Like a rear bumper that has recovery points.
Awesome looking truck.i a jeep guy I have the Rubicon. I am going to get the zr2. I am very impressed with them after seeing them off road.the front and rear lockers was a big factor in my decision on getting one.

I have a very similar one! I just bought some lights for the sportbar... would love to know how you wired them to make it look tight. How did you get the power back and forth through the cab? How did you route the wires through the sport bar. Im a little intimidated to get started.

Dude your truck is sick! I need that light bar on mine. On amazon they have an antenna that’s way smaller then that 8 inch one . It’s called the stubby makes a really nice difference! Anyways keep up the great work truck looks dope!

Did your lightbar hook up to the factory off road light plugs? I have the oem off road lights, trynna get a lightbar up there tho.

I'm looking at buying a '16 Colorado 2.8L Duramax with 6" lift, 22x12 fuel forged wheels, 33x12.50x22, deleted, tuned, 3" straight piped.
Love the light bar! Inspired me to get one for my ZR2. Question, did you use OZ-USA mounts or different mounts? Also, to confirm, that is a 30” light bar? Appreciate the help!
I bought bumper crash bar mounts on amazon that are Colorado specific. They fit 31 inch light bars but work for the 30 inch.

Hey bro, I know you leveled to get rid of the factory rake. I want to slightly lift while still maintaining the rake (think it keeps the aggressive look- I know about clearance blah blah lol).. Im thinking of leveling the front and blocking the rear. Any thoughts or ideas? Have you seen any like it?? Sweet rig and thanks for the vids.. They are the gospel! lol
No I haven't seen that. The ZR2 already has a 2 inch block in the back. And even with a level it still has a bit of rake. Maybe try the diesel springs if yours is a gas model they give about .75 to 1 inch of lift in the front

Haha thanks! Yes it's an OEM sportsbar I picked up from someone local that put a camper type shell on the back of his and removed the sportsbar. Also it's a zoneoffroad.com 1.5 inch bodylift

How were you able to mount the roll bar and have the tonneau cover? The roll bar from chevy mounts on the bed, made it look difficult to have both.
Theres only 2 brands that will fit with the sports bar. This one is a truxedo lopro with sportsbar.

Question for you man... I just put the zone body lift on and I noticed the steering seemed a little stiffer, did you notice anything like that at the time? Also what are your full tire size specs? Thanks and I love the progress of the truck!
Did you disconnect the steering knuckle like it said too in the instructions before lifting the cab off the frame? I did and have no issue with steering.
Also I'm running 285/70R17 Duratracs
Figured out what it was... before tightening the bolt on the knuckle, spinning the wheel full left and right lines it up. Guess the two pieces weren't seated just right cause it seems good to go now. Did you have to do any trimming with the 33s or does the lift solve that issue?@@FuhrerfaustSS
@@mtx20000 oh good. And for trimming if you offroad the tires will rub on some of the plastic fender flares. It's not much and easy to see what you need to trim. Under normal driving mine did not rub

I wish I could make my Colorado ZR2 like your that would be awesome but the lack of funds and Knowledge limits how much and how far I can go Purchasing and installing after market parts I have a 2020 Orange crush black trim extended cab Colorado ZR2 I just did a couple Add on parts Borla 304 Stainless steel Cat back exhaust and K&N air filter filter

Need to pic your brain some more... How much did you get for the stock wheels and was it for all 5? Any suggestions on where to try posting them for sell? Also your ditch brackets, are those the Rago brand?
Sold the stock 4 for $450. And yes rago fabrication. Theres a couple other options out there now like cbi and datin metal fab for ditch brackets
The curved light on the bar would be cool facing towards the rear. People will think twice before flashing their lights at you from behind because you would be able to flash them right back 🤣😀😅.
Haha true. On my 01 Tahoe I have some 7 inch slim led light bars attached to the lower part of the rear bumper for that and backing up

Nice....the only thing I not crazy about is the light bar....Light/roll bars just don't look right on extended or supercabs Imo...they just look better in regular cab 8 ft bed trucks....

Hey brother I have to say that I’ve always been in to sports car mods and I was about 60% for purchasing a truck and 40% to stick with a car but after seeing your beautiful little baby you nailed that coffin and wrote it in stone for me that it’s time to get a truck since recently moving out here to Tucson Arizona. Coincidentally I was Looking at a Colorado because I can’t afford anything that would be worth it like a Ford Raptor that is a mans big boy truck. I’d like to follow your Instagram or something cause I honestly have visions of what I want my Colorado to look like but I don’t know anything about trucks since I’ve never owned one. No lift. Zr2 comes 2 inches taller from the factory. I added a 1 inch level kit and a 1.5 inch zoneoffroad body lift. I'm currently running 33 inch tires but going to 34 inch soon

Yeah might get a roof rack eventually. I like the loom of the light bar on the sportsbar tho. I have plenty of light with the pods on the hood and the 31 inch in the bumper
I like these trucks a lot ..... just wish they came in V8
The v6 has plenty of power at 308hp/275tq. It's just as fast off the line as most full size v8 trucks

It's the truxedo Lopro made for the sports bar. It was a direct fit
Does that 32in bar even do anything? It doesn't look like it reaches over the hood enough to illuminate anywhere near the ground. Maybe the trees which could come in handy if you wanna see all overhead branches. Just curious if it's purely cosmetic. Looks cool for sure.
Yeah it works great in the washes at night. Illuminates the sides and brush really good. The bar in the bumper is for the road

Debating the gas vs diesel. I’m in Canada. And i drive a lot. Mostly highway.
Any must have options. And which engine would be better? Overall
Well if mileage is more important over power and better acceleration I'd go diesel. I'm really happy with my gas and my father inlaw is really happy with his 18 diesel. I would drive them both and see what feels better for you

I'm at 16k miles. Only issue I've had is I tore a CV boot offroad. Luckily they covered it under warranty. I really love and enjoy driving this truck over any vehicle I've owned.
Do these wheels stick out further than your previous Bora spacers 1.25"?
They are really close to the stock wheels with the bora spacers

No. GM even has a 1.25 inch level kit out now. Although its alot more expensive

Did you experience rubbing with the spacers running 33’s? I want to get like 1.5 to 2.00 inch spacers on mine. I’d like to keep them on when I get 33’s but I want to see what size I should get.
Yeah a little. I cut a small part of the pinch weld and trimmed a little bit of the plastic fender flares. They were Bora 1.25 inch.

Gap? What gap are you talking about? Theres only a small noticeable gap at the front skid plate of 1.5" the bumpers get new brackets moving them up with the body lift

Nope... dont believe everything they say on the internet. I live in Arizona with temps reaching 118 degrees in summer and had no issues.

@@casper24ism yes I know I saw the video too that's what I meant. Believe what ya want I guess. I'm just stating the facts of my daily driving in 110 degree plus weather during summer. Theres a AIT sensor down there that's the o ly thing I would be concerned about...not cooling the engine. Look at the actual grill and see how much air gets to the radiator thro it. Plenty

Have a question about the lo pro did u have to do any modifications to the brackets bc of the rollbar? I've seen lot of post where it talks about having to cut the piece off to fit around the roll bar?
No theres a Lopro specifically made for the sports bars. Let me check the correct part number i got

I know this is an old video but with the light bar on top did you have to do anything to the bracket that the light bar sits on? And where did you get that light bar from?
I had to drill 2 holes into the plate that lays on the top of the sportsbar... it's a nilight 32 inch curved black out light bar I got on Amazon for lime $50

Hey man, I know this is an older video, but I’m planning on adding the red lettering to my own silverado sports bar and front nudge bar. What was the paint/adhesive you used to attach the plexiglass?? Appreciate it!
I had plexiglass cut at lowes. Then sprayed red down then black over the red then displayed the clear glossy unpainted side up. Used 3m emblem tape to stick to the inside of the panel
