Joy of Living , Like previous years , we have to clean our brass items , which is ment , only for our family Durga Puja. To clean then all with Brasso , it's a tedious job.
This year , just now , we followed your prosses , with salt , lime & vinegar and with wheat atta & vinegar . Both the methods r time saving & result r outstanding.

I have used tamarind in method 1. Only use white vinegar ( synthetic vinegar).

Thank you for the tip. Mix of wheat powder, common salt, vinegar and water did wonder. However boiling dismantled brass parts of my hanging brass lamp in tamarind water mixed with little vinegar did not give desired result. Rather the colour of brass parts has become copperish. Please advise how to get back the original shining brass colour. Regards.

Take 2-3 lemons, cut into half. Dip the lemon ( cut side) in dish washing liquid, and rub all over the brass, keep squeezing the lemon juice, on brass vessel while rubbing. Wash it with fresh clean water. The lemon juice will restore the natural shine of brass.
