I found the "subtitles" its really a transcript. See 3 dots next to SAVE. Unfortunately can't read transcript on full screen ,so helps if you got a big telly.
"Why didnt you go?", He asked. "Without the Ghost king, the Ghost queen cant live", she said. I thought this was so touching..
The Ghost king was wicked though. Imagine walking into a town where its quiet during the day and noisy at night time. Everyone just comes out of nowhere.

Yōkai ketsune originates from Chinese folk lore. The folk lore is even older than Jesus. I enjoy both versions, although I think there are many more other ones that I've yet to see or read about.

I think he did leave with the real stone. There's no way he could have faced the Emperor with an empty box or a replica of stone.

There was solution to it. I think the emperor wanted to protect the stone so that it wont fall at the wrong hands. But then they could bring it to the emperor to complete their mission. And then since its belong to Nv xi clan they will surely protect it for the dynasty. To make good ends for the two sides. Emperor can bless the Nv Xi clan to keep the precious stone safe and useful. So if it ever happened again with the emperor blessing no one shall claim the precious stone from Nv Clan in the future. Its for the peace of the country.

Didn't quite get the ending part and glad if anyone can help clarify which of these 3 possibilities : 1) The tribe after all gave him the precious stone?, 2) The lady took it and handed to him?, 3) He brought to the kingdom only a replica of the genuine precious stone?
Ilen Star. I read English subtitles, I don't see the girl said she'll give him back the precious stone. She said she's worried when the guy go back to the palace and face the emperor and how to explain to them. The guy said that's he's responsibility and mission to give the stone back to the village, too. That's all and he left the note on the table. Maybe he stole the stone from the village ? (no description)
@@sc2277ka1 , Yes, that's one possibility I guess, but hope others here would be able to get it really right and tell us on how did he managed to bring that stone to the kingdom. The tribe understood that he only had his head to offer once he comes back empty handed with all comrades already dead.
At 1:27:53, his farewell note to the lady answers your question. He said the stone belongs to the tribe (so he did not take it), yet it is his duty to revert to the king although knowing the king will not let him off the hook. He will try to resolve this (escape death sentence), conclusion is 3).
