What a great video! Detailed but to the point! You look like one of those people who, when you see are on your job site, your day just becomes a little bit more exciting and fun :)) Thank you!
The Makita provides a MUCH better finish. Makita is also the only company that makes 100% ceramic sanding discs. Using 180 grit will leave a completely scratch free finish. The Festool leaves swirls.
I have 3 makitas and they work great they overheat in texas summer but once they giveup makita have a great costumer service they fix it or replaced it
I’m not a professional by no stretch of the imagination, but do a lot of DIY projects for myself and friends. I work at my own pace these days…slow. I would never make it doing any kind production work! I have the Planex Easy and it’s a great sander. The dust extraction is incredible. The down side to the Planex Easy is that the length is not adjustable and it becomes a problem in small spaces. Otherwise I love it. That said, yesterday I ordered the Planex 2 which is supposed to be here midweek. You mentioned a soft pad for the Planex. I’ve never used one on my Easy, but I have gouged some of my work and had to go back and fix it. Do you think using a pad between the backing plate and the sandpaper will help correct that? If so, is one pad enough? By the way, great review!
My daughter just bought a house and she wants to remove the Popcorn Ceilings. House was built in 1993 - I understand these would work to get that off. What do you recommend
This would be great for that! Either one would work - the Festool is quite a bit more expensive but the vacuum system is amazing. It will suction itself to the ceiling which helps a lot
Love the video! I have been using vacuum power sanders since the mid 90s, did not know there was so many options out there. I have mainly used Porter Cable sanders. Just recently used a Harbor Freight power sander with a light built in, was not that impress with it. But I do like the light system! I had to put one on my Porter Cable sanders. Thanks again for sharing with us your sanders!
How much does the Makita weigh and festool, is there an attachments that fits in tight corners for the Makita and festool it would be nice to see how they sand in corners and tight spaces
what gritt paper do you use with the festool i have not had good luck with mine and spent a lot of money on it idk it seems really slow to me compared to my flex any thoughts ANYONE?!??!!?!?
@@DrywallShorty you're awesome. Thank you so much. I'm working on my bathroom walk in shower and what prime and paint would you recommend for drywall moisture resistance.
@@daengchounlamany4192 Kilz is a good primer and Benjamin Moore paint. Get exterior paint for your bathroom for obvious reasons. Keep a good pace though because exterior paint dries a little quicker. 2 coats of each just to make sure you get every nook and cranny.
Had a friend that helped when I was gone for a day a d girl we got out the black and Deckers 1oo gals of mud sanded 80 gals off and you could not see ha ha ha. I was going 2 do it with just sponges 🧽 😅 bad week love your videos
47 year taper here I've been using the porter cable for about 30 years now, wouldn't dream of sanding even 1 sheet without it
That porter cable is a back breaker, try out the mirka leros, the new Festool, or even this Makita. All vastly, lighter, and better balanced
47 year taper here! In half a century I couldn’t invest $1400 for a better sander and to save my lungs!

I have the Porter Cable sander. Works great, awesome vacuum, game changer.
Am in the dominican republic and i still haven't seen this power sander in some of the harware stores ❤ great video

The mirka sander is great as well, especially attached to the Festool ct26
Are adapters needed?
@@BushmanCanuck Nope, the vacuum hose fits great on the Mirka
@@granjitsingh Good news! I've never been really satisfied with the original non orbital sander. Tried my friends Mirka and love it.

We’ve had good luck with the hilti sander and vacuum
This bauer one is the only one I have tried but its a game changer
Had to subscribe! Knowledgeable, very informative, and absolutely stunningly gorgeous! Good thing she doesn't sell anything or I would go broke.
Thanks for the sub!
I have two flex giraffe sanders,, they’re great,,but your shoulders take a beating ,plastering in general does that anyway 😅

The Makita has a removeable brush to sand angles. The Festool does not. The Makita weighs about 15% more but I find it much easier to use.

I have an older version Planex that only spins and looking to replace it due to the swirls.
Harbor freight has a corded one .$150
what type of vacuum would work with these without the filter getting clogged so fast. oh, and something that is not a festool vac.
My buddy has a dewalt sander with the makita dust extractor
Could you do a comparison review with the planex and the new Bosch GTR? the price difference is almost double and I’d like to know why
😂😂😂😂 double price🤣🤣🤣🤣 joker
1400 $ vs 350$ 🤣🤣🤣 "almost double"
What other applications can these be successfully used on say light floor sanding and polishing.
That’s a good question, probably?
@@DrywallShorty HA that maybe is a good answer.
@DrywallShorty how does it work with painted texture ?
What grit are you using on festool?
what Makita model is this one please ?
Love your content.
Glad you enjoy it! Thank you!! ❤️
I sanded drywall when I was younger without a mask. I now have lung fibrosis. Wear a mask always.
Good work 👍👍
Hi is it ok to overlap drywall tape on top of each other?
Absolutely. When we tape we do butts, flats, then angles. The flat goes over the butt joint tape, the angle tape over the flat.

The beauty is talking!
He can buy his own sander!
At 1200 dollars that vac better suck more than dust
Mirka/hilti, the best.........
Run the Makita with a backpack vac.
I had to watch to see how dirty you got using it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stick sanding all the way
