    Thank you for showing the types of clips these are. Every single other video just goes "unclip the wires" as if that isn't the most difficult part of the job. Any jock with half a brain can remove a few bolt, but removing these wire harnesses without breaking them is such a pain in the ass sometimes

    I just bought a new seat cover for the bottom of the seat off ebay and installed it with no problems. Thank you for your very informative video!

    Just replaced the bottom cover. Took me a few hours. As for the hug rings, I reused the old ones. Simply opened each hug ring appx. 1/4" using plyers during rod removal. Then for the install, I forced each hug ring back onto the rod and closed them using regular plyers. First was the side rod, then the center rod, then the other side rod. Worked well. Great video! Wouldn't be able to do it w/o it.

    Absolutely fantastic video! I bought a new seat bottom off of ebay and installed it in a couple hours using your tips/ direction. My drivers side plastic panel was also broken. Looks like a slight design flaw.
    Great job & keep it up!

    I needed to replace the seat belt pretensioner to resolve an airbag light issues ((B1 B28) 1st row driver seatbelt pretensioner circuit low) on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Your video was very thorough and extremely helpful in helping me with this task. Thank you much for providing it.

    I watched several videos. This was the most useful. Doing XJ seats but close enough.

    Thanks- was looking how to remove the door side panel of the seat. My Commander's looks like it is broken at the same spot yours was attached to the seat when you removed the panel.

      Did you swap it out yet? I have a Commander and am also thinking about doing this.

      @@jacobolmos2475 I bought the part and am waiting to replace when the existing literally falls off. The design is problematic, so I wanted to grab the part while it was still available.

    This video is awesome and very helpful. Thanks! It looks like if I only need to replace the bottom cover I will not need to take the plastic covers off of the sides of the seats. I looks like the only reason you did that was because you needed to also replace the back cover. Is that true?

    Hi, thank you for the video, @ 3:38 that switch I have not been able to find where is plugged. Do you know what it does? I even removed again the seat and couldn't find where it goes. Any insight is really appreciated

      Chrysler in the late 90s and early 2000s often put full spec optioned out wiring harnesses on cars without the option to save cost by makings fewer harnesses types. Depending on your trim level you may find connectors that go to nothing. Like this Jeep doesn’t have heated seats but all the wiring in there from the factory. Some Jeeps didn’t come with heated side mirrors. If you plug in a heated side mirror it will work. Same with the auto dimming mirrors and auto headlights. I hope that was helpful.

    Is it possible to remove the wiring harness of the bottom in situ without having to pull the entire seat out? It looks like once you remove the two bolts, you just need to unclip the wiring harness?

    • @jth1987leb
      @jth1987leb  Год назад +1

      It depends on the options in the seat

      It’s very difficult to find a driver seat leather in good condition. That’s why I used the passenger side leather for the drivers seat. Also to buy a seat at the junkyard is expensive. Taking the time to remove the leather made the total 7 dollars
