The issue with your door hitting the countertop is either the wrong hinges for the door and I have a similar issue where my corner door (for my basement bar) is tight with the wall, Ikea in the planner tells you to have a spacer between the cabinet (where your door is and in between the wall) Basically you should have a 1/2 spacer between the overhang of your countertop and your cabinet door. But I got to praise Ikea cabinets for cheap (good price) and good quality built. A lot of custom cabinets company uses Ikea system and just get their countertop throughout a 3rd party.

Thanks for sharing! We thought about the spacer before, but it might look bizarre with a gap between the countertop and the tall cabinet.
