straight to the point and right way to do it in few easy steps, exactly what i was looking for. watched many tutorials before this which got more views but their method is long and complicated and 50% of the time doesn't work causing lots of other issues. Well done, ty
You saved my day ! Now I have a great clip for me instagram page ! Thank you !! Straight to the point ! yayy Your tutorials are amazing, especially this I can use for driving tutorials. Thank you a lot for sharing the knowledge!
Great tut thank you. Is there an easy way to paste the path as keyframes but still be able to go back in and edit the path? Or is that a different process, ie parenting a Null for example. Cheers!
The easiest way would be to split the layer at the point where you want to stop the car (it needs to be on one of the keyframes) then move the split layer that's at the top forward to where you want the car to move again, then extend the bottom split layer until that point and remove the keyframes from it that come after the point where you want the car to stop. Hope it makes sense😁
I know you posted this video a year ago, but when I try to do this exactly as how you do it, it says "After Effects Error : Attempt to iterate over a time stream with no key values (29 : 34)" have you ever encountered a problem like that? do you know how to solve it? Also thank you for your videos! they are awesome man
I insert all the keys, but the position of the figure and the center point changes and it goes along the wrong trajectory, although I press on autocorrection, what should I do in such a situation?
... I'm not understanding 😨 How does the custom path have key frames? Because when I follow the tutorial, copy, then paste onto my images position-it's just blank. No keyframes.
There's a different approach with creating nulls along path and parenting the object to that null, it's a bit tricky to explain, try searching for similar videos maybe you will come across something
I've just confirmed in the latest AE version that everything works as supposed to, you should select path and copy it by ctrl+c / cmd+c , then paste it into position by pressing ctrl+v / cmd+v
Yes, I know, I did exactly that, when I go to select the path it's giving me different results, it's selecting SHAPE 1 PATH 1 and PATH it's selecting all three at the same time... I press ctrl c and ctrl v and it doesn't work@@SmertimbaGraphics
I skipped 3 other tutorials until I landed here... Simple, clear. It's been an immediate help. Great! Thanks alot!
Great to hear💯

You're very welcome, enjoy❤
Just amazing! It's so nice that you have picked one example that can teach some tricks of that process! Really appreciate it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
After Effects is sooo useful! Thanks for the tutorial 🙏
You're welcome 😊

Thanks for watching!
Concise, clear information :) Well done thanks!

Great tut thank you. Is there an easy way to paste the path as keyframes but still be able to go back in and edit the path? Or is that a different process, ie parenting a Null for example. Cheers!
I would say this is the most consistent way, so I'd just stick to the steps😁
@@SmertimbaGraphics Ok, so after pasting the path onto the object you want to follow it, how do you edit the path? Cheers!
very helpful Thanks
You're welcome!
Exactly what I needed thanks
Glad I could help
Great Video. Can you please tell me how can i stop the car in some points for 4-5 seconds and move again?

Welcome ♥️
Thanks a lot
Happy to help
Thank you for your video! At first mine was not working. But when I increased Anchor Point the car followed the path :D
Nice work!😁
Thank youuuu 🙂
Welcome💯

I've never seen that error before, it seems like you didn't add keyframes, did you?
Thank helpful
You're welcome
How did you loop the effect... Can you please tell me?
I didn't mean to😂 Just place the end keyframe at the end of the timeline and it will loop itself
thank you 👏
Welcome💯
omg thanks brother
Welcome✌️
thanks!
Welcome!

If this did no work then there is other method but I don't have it on the channel
in after effect 2024 ther is x and y position diffrent in transform so how to paste the path
By default the position values are linked, did you separate the dimensions? No changed were made to that in 2024 version as I am aware
... I'm not understanding 😨 How does the custom path have key frames? Because when I follow the tutorial, copy, then paste onto my images position-it's just blank. No keyframes.
You have to click exactly as in the tutorial, it won't add keyframes otherwise
What i need to do, if I need that car must rotation? But not like drift, more like barrel roll
There's a different approach with creating nulls along path and parenting the object to that null, it's a bit tricky to explain, try searching for similar videos maybe you will come across something
@@SmertimbaGraphics ok, thanks. maybe its idea for your next tut?)))
hey, how do i change the starting position for this? i have to animate 2 objects on the same path.... my path is a loop
You can adjust the path as needed, select the pen tool and make changes to individual points
I'm using the 2024 version of after effects, when I click on copy path I can't copy and when I press ctrl c the keyframes don't appear
ctrl c to copy, then ctrl v to paste, it should work as long as you have path highlighted while copying
Im having the same issue, just nothing happens in AE 2024 when I hit "command p" on Mac. Any idea why this is happening?@@SmertimbaGraphics

@@tyuxs4968 i'm having the same issue.. did you resolve it? :(
Hello, there is no option "none" in fill & stroke, it's just showing the colour chat, please help
You should click on the blue word, not the color
@@SmertimbaGraphics thankyou soo much, it worked
Every time I do this, I get no keyframes, following the tutorial exactly step by step. Not sure how to fit it.
Are you sure you select the path that has a stopwatch next to it and not the part that says "path" above it?
i can't, its not showing anything is it because im using only a png image? pls helpp
What do you mean by anything? PNG should not be a problem
😇
♥️
bhai grow up, har baat pe pen tool nikalna is not funny
What do you mean?😂
