I just went to the comments to post the same thing! First a “god” named after a Kiwi, now a tea ceremony from a different continent. It’s going to be hard to watch this...
Thanks a lot! I'm glad it helped you! In case you didn't know I have done almost 100 Rules Schools that you can see a sortable list of here - www.gameboygeek.com/rules-school
-My rulebook says it recommends using Teapot for the first game.- Ignore this, I remembered wrong and checked when I got back to my copy. You can apparently take an allie figure hostage if you, an allie, and an opponent is in the same province where a battle occurs.
the seasons cards which where not bought are removed after the seasons end. My question is, are the player owned season cards also removed after a season ends? (because they are "next to the board" description of the rules...)
After reading the rules I would disagree. When you acquire a season card you move it from "next to the board" and place it "next to the clan screen". Under the rules on the Train Mandate p16. To me it implies they are unaffected by the Set Season Step(p10) which you remove season cards in Seasonal Setup. And in the same step it says "If there are any Seasons cards left next to the board from the previous Season, discard these cards.". This too implies bought season cards remains in play. Hope this helps you and others!
is resolving battles done after resolving provinces or during the resolving provinces. because he cut to resolving battles at 23:36 without saying if it's done after or during resolving provinces making me confuse.
During the war phase, resolving provinces IS the same as reolving battles. One by one, you resolve each province by executing the battle, if that's the case (i.e. if the players involved are not allies)
Hi Dan I am wondering could the killed figures from the previous season be recruited again in the next season? Or do they consider to be completely eliminated? Thank you so much!
Thanks for the video! Great game. I wish I'd had your rules video when I first played it as we did a few important things wrong. I love it - Rising Sun has indeed risen to become my favourite dudes-on-a-map game.
Glad you enjoyed it and that it helped you. I would have had it up earlier but I literally just received it late last week! What rules did you play wrong?
TheGameBoyGeek - Thanks man. Your explanation of the game is very clear and well put together - you must have put a lot of thought into it. I reckon you'll get a lot of views on this video as there's no concise rules explanations out there as yet (just 90+ minute playthroughs). Our mistake was we played it so that the strongholds were worth 1 force in harvesting and combat, which they're clearly not (other than the Turtle clan). I was the Turtle clan in that game and that one mistake cost me big time, although I came a close second place and enjoyed it immensely. Second play was much more strait forward. It might seem hyperbolic but this is the area control game I've always been after. I'm so pleased with it.
Awesome video!!!!! Thank you so much! Also, 9:23 been playing magic lately? Enhancement, but a very easy slip up. Keep these rules videos up, you killed it
I wouldn't say either are beginner friendly. Either of these would take just Monopoly players into a world that might be too deep. I'd recommend one of these for them to start with - ruclips.net/video/heZAbWuRrtw/видео.html But between the two I'd say blood rage is a little easier to grasp.
Great video Dan.. the tea at the beginning was a good choice don't listen to these PC people.. they love being offended.. it shows how morally superior they think they are.. so Virtuous! Virtue signalling 101
You dumbass... nobody's offended, people are merely pointing out that mate was the wrong choice since it hails from South America, not Japan. Morality and virtue play no part in it, nor does being PC. Oo Mate tea was simply not a good choice since it's usage quite literally makes no sense.
Great presentation, but that Yerba mate in the opening shot is a southern American thing ;)
Jonas Hellberg just was about to see if anyone notice that
SOUTH American....as in Argentina...not southERN American
Argentina and Uruguay have the culture of mate, but are not the only places where are very used... also in Chile and Paraguay
Also 2 mates? Its a group beverage, 1 mate for up to 6(ish) people
I just went to the comments to post the same thing! First a “god” named after a Kiwi, now a tea ceremony from a different continent. It’s going to be hard to watch this...
Thank you Dan! Im running this at my local game store for Tabletop Day and this helped refresh and strengthen the rules! :)
Gad I could "Help you Enjoy the next Board Game You'll Love"! Graham!
ty :) a very clear and useful video! *now* I can start reading the manual :P
I have only one question. Are the strongholds of a player who loses the battle destroyed after the battle?
Great video, thank you! Really like your style of explaining! Additional thanks for examples, they help a lot.

Hey I need to know if ronin are used to win the ronin advantage or if its only coins
You can take 2 or more hostages if are in that province 2 or more enemy?
It looks like a really fun game but it's so bloody long to learn
...and play.
But more fun than expected
Hell of a explanation great job bruh
Thanks Manoj!

Mine says Archway for first game.
That's weird that our rule books say to use different sets of season cards for the first game! Correct you can take an ally hostage.
Retail version differs to Kickstarter then?
Nevermind. I remembered wrong and checked my copy when I got back home. It says Archway.
Yes there are many component upgrades that I didn't show in this video purposely to not confuse retail buyers.
the seasons cards which where not bought are removed after the seasons end. My question is, are the player owned season cards also removed after a season ends? (because they are "next to the board" description of the rules...)
st0ox yep they do!
thanks. this means that monsters which where bought in the first round are not available in the second? (because they a gained via season cards?)

Great video. It made out first game easier to set up and play :D

Hi Dan
I am wondering could the killed figures from the previous season be recruited again in the next season? Or do they consider to be completely eliminated?
Thank you so much!
They come back next season from what I remember.
QTN: why is it top 4 I saw some reviewers and eric lang uses 3 only to choose from? Sorry for asking since I do not have not the game yet. thanks
When you win a War Tile, do you have to keep them face-up or can you keep them face-down and not be forced to reveal to others?
Christofil Anciano war tiles are face up
Por qué sirve mate?

Great video! Thanks!
This or blood rage? Which one's more beginner friendly? None in my group has played board games aside from monopoly before.

Great video. Can't wait to play :)

Or maybe he was trying to be helpful by pointing out a mistake?
Why don’t you lodge a complaint with the American prime minister then?
Lol it's a really stereotypical south American drink and the game is from Japan.
