I've got a flat roof I cant seem to fix . I've spend hundreds pouring Liquid rubber over it. Still leaking, the flashings are good. Can you put this stuff over old liquid rubber ?

there comes a certain point when you can't just keep adding more and more crap over crap over more crap. pretty soon your got 5 layers of crap and each layer has probably not done it's jb an let water get underneath which will eventually trap the moisture in the roof system itself and on hot days is when you'll develop blisters on the membrane that won't generally leak unless you step on them. as soon as you do you've just caused a hole that needs to be repaired. anyways....you can only keep adding this crap for so long before it just going to have to be torn. or if it's a nice warm day, go over it one last time two ply torch on system. if your roof doesn't have gravel on it you might be able to torch down the base sheet instead of mechanically fastening with screws and plates. plates are big washers to hold the base sheet down the the granulated cap sheet roll gets torched the that. I don't advice doing a torch on roof by yourself and especially not with a big heavy "tiger torch" with a dial or a tap like on and off styled valve. there's apecil torches used for roofing applications and the aren't cheap. Nesta I still consider to be the best of all time. there's a new seivert titanium torch out on the market now that everyone seems to think I super because the field torch is so light but the problem is that are TOO light and once in a while you put your torch down to go get another roll or something to and depending what hose is attached to the torch itself you run the risk of a hose flexing on its own and can flip your torch sideways and burn a nice big ugly ass hole in turn new roof you now have to fix afterwards that always looks very un professional

Yes you can as long as it is clean and dry; if in any doubt an adhesion test is advisable.

    We don't have GACO-PRO in the U.S.
    What's the difference between GACO-ROOF (U.S.) and GACO-PRO (U.K.)?

What's the purpose of gravels, is it old method? What's the lifetime and benefits of GACO coatings? can this be applied on flat asphalt roof?

      Hi Lyna,
yes the Gaco system can be applied to asphalt.

+Lyna Le The gravel in the asphalt board is to protect it from UV light. The white color in the GACO product is pretty much of the same reason. Ultra Violet light from the sun fucks shit up.

+He Ka originally the gravel was used to prevent the edges of the felt paper from standing up as well as give the felt paper ballast. providing a sunscreen was just an added bonus. the gravel can also be put on thicker in low spots to keep the water from pooling too deep. bur roofs are meant to hold water but it doesn't mean you want the roof 4 inches deep all the time.

Hey there I'm at a point of frustration I've hired two different roofers, one which bang more holes in my roof than before, and another who just placed a tarp over my roof as a temp fix from the other roofer's mishaps.
My roof is leaking in 3 different areas one leak I fix and it has reoccurred after this last major snow storm. The products I used that seemed to work temporary were Gardner Gibson Silver coat Stop leak and another elastomeric product they sell, NONE LASTED!!!
I am now deeply contemplating GACO, ETERNA KOTE OR TROPI-COOL all of which are 100℅ silicone.
I am a point of disbelief, DOES THIS STUFF WORK? DO I NEED TO PATCH THE EXISTING LEAKS BEFORE APPLYING? IF SO HOW LONG AFTER CAN I APPLY THIS COATING?
Also I've seen a ton a of negative reviews about Gaco on Amazon about bubble and flaking after years, Is this stuff genuine?
Any assistance would be appreciated I couldn't get the answers from the roofers besides them ripping me off, and big box stores can't assist because their sole purpose is profit so they would tell you anything to sell this stuff.
