I think most of us 80s teens connect with this song in some way now most of us are 50 plus and still feel the meaning behind this music what a great time to grow up in
Is. Oct 2024. And still listening. And crying. Of what it could of been Jenny Figueroa, , Brooklyn NY Westminster rd. , I can still see you across the street.
Well like...she didn't write this or really much of anything in her debut album. She has gone on to write since and she has a lovely and distinctive voice. But the overwhelming amount of pop acts are singers. Not singer-songwriters.
This song really strikes a chord with me. As I fell in love with a man that was my world. Many times I've looked back and thought what could have been. But because of the circumstances never changing to make it possible, we'll never know what could have been. Man, this is crushing. I have definately thought about what could have been though, quite a bit. It's difficult when 2 people love each other but just can't be together.
In that same boat, waiting now for 5 years for circumstances to change in our favor and both of us having our crying break down moments but we both hold onto faith that God brought us together for a reason and we will go through this turmoil together
I remember hearing this in my room...31 years ago. 8th grade memories, filled with silly crushes and teenage drama. Never went through any real hurt or heartbreak...yet. But when I did this made sense. Now here I’m 45 years old, thinking about the only one I loved.
I understand you , I still cry when I hear this song cause it brings me back to my first. And only love. Jenny figueroa. From. Brooklyn NY. Westminster Rd
Oh my good this took me back! It's funny how you can go decades without hearing it and when you do, you remember every word and key changes. LOL I can hardly remember where my damn keys are, but I remember 80's lyrics!

The best part about the 80s? The absence of all the technology. No Facebook, no Twitter, no Instagram, no iPads, no iPhones, just good times listening to your 45s and cassette tapes. Loved that decade!!!
I remember seeing Tiffany in concert when I was 14. I thought she was so great! And you know, listening to this song, I still love it. It really takes me back. I remember playing this over and over in my room because I had a crush on a boy that didn't like me back, and this was what I deemed 'our song'. lol
@@Heartboy1031 I stand corrected, at least about her age. I took my information from "The Billboard Book of #1 Hits". It is in the first paragraph about this song. Tiffany's date of birth is listed in the entry for "I Think We're Alone Now"......

Kristel Jennison Sometines it’s hard to comprehend why we have to go through hardships. Wish we could spare our heart the pain and the sadness that comes with these challenges...but with everything, they are just the curves and steeps that are part of our journey. Know that this too shall pass..the sun will shine..your heart will mend. Good luck on your journey.
currently going thru messy seperation, not sure if i'm gonna be seeing my son this x-mas. Been here all evening going thru music to numb my mind, and this song has broken me. Nothing today can move the soul like these songs could. God is miss the 80's, I was always happy in those days.
It's sad that, after a few hits, Tiffany disappeared from the charts. She had a nice voice. But no one took her seriously because she was so young at the time.
song for the moment...:( i want to be with him but circumstances dictate we can't...super hard, the love is there but there are just some things beyond control...could've been...
Used to have the cassette tape of Tiffanys first album and I would stand outside in my parents driveway and perform the entire thing for my neighbors when I was like ten, eleven years old lol. Good times, good times.
you'll one day realize that everything that has happened was for the better.and God has something more worth remembering and fighting for.just be strong...i was really moved when i read your post but i know you can get through this...cheer up

So pleased for being part of 80's/90;s generation and having enjoyed the best music; this song is just part of it....
