You and RBP inspired me to resume my trainboard world. Seems you, like me, enjoy landscaping to create stories on the trainboard . Then there is collecting, shelve displays, learning the history of the pieces, accessories and actual train runs. Im working solo, sometimes overwhelmed but I appreciate all your efforts and see what can be accomplished. Come june 1,2022 I will run my trains and do my first video. My channel will be " the trainboard " much appreciated. Gary
I think people want to do everything and start gigantic. Just start with a basic layout and it will grow naturally. Put down basic landscaping, no huge details. Then over the years you go back and just keep adding. Great for rainy weekends! Good luck!
Wow! What terrific fun!. I have some of those accessories. What is really amazing to me is how well those Lionel operating accessories actually work. Great video of a great layout. I would have liked to have seen that industrial chimney smoke effect at night.Interesting that your rotary beacon doesn't seem to revolve. Absolutely perfect otherwise. Thank you for all your efforts,
Sean you have a wonderful train layout. I found many good ideas to add to my new train layout. I have a 10x 101/2 ft. layout with some postwar accessories. I'm planing to use on the layout and will incorporate some of your ideas. Thanks for sharing your train layout. I enjoyed your channel and subscribed. Greetings from New Jersey.
Very very cool Sean. Been waiting to see this update for a while. You have done an amazing job. Can't wait to see what the mountain will look like and the town. Very awesome.
Hey Sean, the layout looks really amazing! I'll have to watch the whole video when I have more time. I really like how your roads and sidewalks turned out. May I ask what material you to used? Thanks!
Nice layout setup! On the tall trees in the corner, needs some lumberjacks up in the trees cutting them down. How do you get the coal, after dumping it at the coal unloader? How about a hobo camp somewhere?
About to add many roads to my 18 by 27 ft o gauge trainboard. What do you suggest for adding those many white or yellow traffic lines . Perhaps correction tape? Did you paint your lines using forms with small slits? Please suggest alternatives, given your very nice results.
I was hoping to see a train running at night. Pretty nice layout. I couldn't imagine the time and money you have in it. Hopefully you are financially independent because that is an expensive hobby.
Hi Sean, Congratulations on your layout your almost there. By any chance are you going to run the Trackside Crane somewhere on your layout? On the House on Fire Display you mentioned something about using a waterproof driveway, I think you said waterproof foam. Now is that the name of the product or who makes it? I hope to see Episode 9 soon. Thank you for taking the time to read my questions and comments. Sincerely Allan
Hey Sean great job! It's really coming together. Just makes me feel bad about the lack of progress on my own layout. Thanks for sharing. You are an inspiration to us all! Beautiful wood work too. Is that a NJ state trooper making the bust?
Hi Sean! I love your videos and the layout is awesome! I'm building one too and I'm using a lot of your techniques. What products do you use for your roads, sidewalks and driveways? Where did you buy them? TIA!
Great video, Sean! Love that rockville bridge! May I ask a question about it, how wide is the bridge without the water section? I'm looking at getting one but I can't use the water due to space.
dear sean, very impressed with the work you have done on your layout. I am constructing 0 guage layout, using 20 sets of turn-offs. I note that you have different colours in the switch lights. How have you done this. I want to be able to set the switches on my control board, in batches of 4, so I can use the lionel numbers supplied. Regards, Tony Bailey, Deans Marsh, Victoria, australia.
About to start doing videos june 1, 2022 on my o gauge the channel will be "the trainboard". Was disappointed that your channel has very few videos posted although you mentioned 20 sets of turnout. I made the mistake of buying all my atlas o switch tracks in 2 months 14 years ago, delayed with the benchwork, then 18 of the 25 switches had probelms with bad designs. Atlas changed their design but mine were, by that time, out of warranty.stopped trains for 4 years, overwhelmed, but back now, trying hard. But, I'm a train guy, missed them much. Please post some of your layout.
Sean. Layout is obviously awesome. I'm just gonna say it: I rank you right up there with Eric and pgh train fanatic. U said you do roads with woodland scenics roadbed base. It's 2 3/4 wide. Do you just butt two strips up to each other 2 get a two lane road width? Response would be seriously appreciated. I like my roads...but not nearly as much as yours. Thanks
They come in different sizes. For a regular width road I use the ST1470's which come in a pack of 6 that are 5" x24". For larger areas like parking lots , etc I use the ST1477 sheets which come individually and are 12" x 24".
Cool layout, looks like you've put a lot of time and effort into it and it really shows. I love all the operational accessories, my only gripe with operational accessories (not yours in particular, the items on your layout are great, this is just a general statement) is that their movement is too quick and sudden. Awesome video though, I watched the whole thing and enjoyed it!
It's Woodland Scenics track bed. Comes is different sheet sizes. They are like a spongy type foam but have a asphalt like texture I thought looked good, are flexible and easy to shape, cut and bend. When you put cars on them they sink just a hair into the foam so they don't roll around, but if you move them to a different spot the depression in the foam will disappear in a day or so. I used them because I found I could run them right up to the Fastrack rail because they were so flexible and they were the exact right thickness to be flush with the rail.
Actually I don't know. It was just a fire truck I found at my local hobby shop. There are actually very few fire truck in O scale made and if you do an eBay or Amazon search it will bring it up. It was less than 20.00.
Very Nicely Done,In All Aspects Of a Layout The Pavement For Your Roads Should Be Dulled Or Weathered To Add a Little More Realism To The Awsome Job That You Have Done.
Great idea with coal tipple to bad you could not run another train under neath to fill another set coal cars and make it look like coming out of coal mine with full load
Hi Sean You mentioned In Several of Your Review Videos about The Fire Chief Plug and Play Starter Sets (The Polar Express, Harry Potter and Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine). You Said That I Only Run High end Premium Diesel Engines and Steam Locomotives as well as There Rolling Stock and there Passenger Cars!!! Because they're Heavier and Better Quality than The Starter Sets. Then Why Don't You Use Ross Premium Railroad Tracks and Switches? Didn't You Say In The Past during your review segments of your videos That Fastrak Tracks are Low end Railroad Tracks? You yourself wouldn't run a Starter Set Because You Only Run Premium Trains. Except you are running on Low end Railroad Tracks. You be better off Running On Tubular Tracks. Thank You For Your Time. Sincerely Allan
I don't remember anywhere saying Fastrack was low end. I use Fastrack because it is part of the entire Lionel ecosystem. Everything works together perfectly. Fastrack Remote Switches controlled by the Legacy Controller, Fastrack Operating Track and Uncoupling Tracks controlled by the Legacy controller. The Entire LCS system (sensor tracks blend right in). Lionel Crossing Gates/Signals. I don't have to create all kinds of transition tracks, or add switch motors to Ross Switches and then wire all that up, and then buy LCS modules to control all those, plus the cost is much much higher for all that. I like that it is all one ecosystem and everything just works together. Plus ballasting Ross or Gargraves is a ton more work, requires a large amount of ballast and much more difficult to keep the glue off the rails since you have to go in between too, which you don't for Fastrack. I weighed the Pros/Cons and cost of it all and I like the Lionel system better. It has been years now and the system still runs perfect today.
Awesome layout, love all the animation... My new club layout video is up, "CHERRY VALLEY, O SCALE, 2017" check it out if you have a sec. (pretty nice "two-rail" layout, worth the view)... Thanks so much, Moses...
Awesome your layout it amazing, keep that great job it is very educational. Thank you for sharing you nice work

I can watch this all day!! Great job!
I like how you explain your layout. It is awesome that I ran across this video

Layout is really good I was anxious to see your progress since your last layout tour. Keep up the good work!
I thought the layout looked great but then I saw the access bridge go up - absolutely brilliant. Now a subscriber and look forward to future updates.
Great layout! Your videos have helped me with mine. Love all the details
Very nice I must say. One of the better ones I've ever saw.
This is just beautiful great job !

Too good. Wonderful design plus the woodworking is beautiful.
Very very cool Sean. Been waiting to see this update for a while. You have done an amazing job. Can't wait to see what the mountain will look like and the town. Very awesome.

Lots of Bethlehem Steel accessories and Pennsylvania Rail Road trains and accessories. Nice layout
Very cool layout, train room and video tour.
• Cheers from The Detroit & Mackinac Railway 🚂
Entertaining and Educational all in one. I thoroughly enjoyed the video Sean.
Impressive! Thank you Sean...
That fedex guy destroyed my ipad. Great Layout . Really Inspirational.
Very well planed and constructed. Who is the manufacturer of the house under construction?
Amazing thanks for sharing great work.
.
I would say 90% done, Great Clean Job!
absolutely awesome . great work!!!
Awesome, just awesome!
Hey Sean, the layout looks really amazing! I'll have to watch the whole video when I have more time. I really like how your roads and sidewalks turned out. May I ask what material you to used? Thanks!
very unique layout never seen anything like it awesome job sean!!!
Congratulations ! Very nice
Well thought out layout - very impressive
Nice layout setup! On the tall trees in the corner, needs some lumberjacks up in the trees cutting them down. How do you get the coal, after dumping it at the coal unloader? How about a hobo camp somewhere?
Very nice layout!
This is the best detailed structure i have ever seen. Can you please tell me what type of material to make the road? It looks like realistic.
Awesome! Is that static grass you used by the church?
About to add many roads to my 18 by 27 ft o gauge trainboard. What do you suggest for adding those many white or yellow traffic lines . Perhaps correction tape? Did you paint your lines using forms with small slits? Please suggest alternatives, given your very nice results.
Pinstriping tape
LOL...love it !!...i hope you have that FEDEX pkg marked fragile...
I was hoping to see a train running at night. Pretty nice layout. I couldn't imagine the time and money you have in it. Hopefully you are financially independent because that is an expensive hobby.

Where did you get your crossings signs from
Where did you get your cars and what did your use or your road and sidewalks?
Hey Sean great job! It's really coming together. Just makes me feel bad about the lack of progress on my own layout. Thanks for sharing. You are an inspiration to us all! Beautiful wood work too. Is that a NJ state trooper making the bust?
Hi Sean! I love your videos and the layout is awesome! I'm building one too and I'm using a lot of your techniques. What products do you use for your roads, sidewalks and driveways? Where did you buy them? TIA!
Its Woodland Scenic's track bed for roads and Woodland Scenic's foam for sidewalks I just scored with a knife and painted using their concrete paint.
Amazing 🚂❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎
Great video, Sean! Love that rockville bridge! May I ask a question about it, how wide is the bridge without the water section? I'm looking at getting one but I can't use the water due to space.
If you don't use the water base the widest part is the bottom of the piers which is 6 - 1/2 inches.
Sean's Train Channel Thanks for replying.
Nice layout.... wat are u use in for the roads
Hey do you live here in New Jersey by any chance? When I saw the scene with the Corvette getting pulled over the squad car was of NJ State Police.
Hi Sean, great update. But I have a question. How does the Coal Tipple not tip the car infront / behind as the knuckle starts to twist?
They are special gondola cars that have rotary couplers
Hi Sean, Love the layout. What did you use for the roads and sidewalks?
Outstanding!!!!
BTW, the MTH house on fire is too cool with your detailing.
With something this elaborate, can you tell me why you chose fastrack over one of the other high end track systems?
dear sean, very impressed with the work you have done on your layout.

what scale vehicles do you use?
Love to see a full run video
Sean, what do you use for your street guardrails?
Hello where do you find the figures for your layout?
very nice
How much did it cost to do all this
Sean. Layout is obviously awesome. I'm just gonna say it: I rank you right up there with Eric and pgh train fanatic. U said you do roads with woodland scenics roadbed base. It's 2 3/4 wide. @Sean and @Adam i started a month ago and been watching your series a lot. what curves are you guys using? Great job!

Sean nice video. Layout is coming out nice. What did you use for your guardrail?
They are the guard rails used with Superstreets. I just bent and cut them to what I needed.
How big is your layout
Looks awesome, what did you use for you streets? They look amazing
It's Woodland Scenics track bed. Comes is different sheet sizes. They are like a spongy type foam but have a asphalt like texture I thought looked good, are flexible and easy to shape, cut and bend. Also where did you get the engine she'd housing the 765 and 5344
That's just a standard MTH Double Engine shed.
Sean's Train Channel oh ok thanks
Very Nicely Done,In All Aspects Of a Layout The Pavement For Your Roads Should Be Dulled Or Weathered To Add a Little More Realism To The Awsome Job That You Have Done.
The best part is the guy getting arrested
Hey Sean what did you use for your sidewalks?
Woodland Scenics 1/4" foam.
@@seanstraindepot thank you!
Whoa! You don't believe in doing things small! :)
Did you win the lottery? Damn that's a lot of money in one room! lol
HAHA, no just collecting and buying over time.
Great idea with coal tipple to bad you could not run another train under neath to fill another set coal cars and make it look like coming out of coal mine with full load
Amazing, just amazing. Please do a running session!
How is the police car lighting up???
Led's with a flasher circuit board.
I imagine a future world where Siri toggles the switches. Wouldn’t that be sick
that mk1 escort at 8:55 is killer
Haha Good Eye. Most people don't know that car.
it's a sweet car. not as sweet as your layout though. one of the best layouts i've ever seen!
hi sean
fantastic layout you should be proud
its just a pity about the camera as it is making the layout buildings
look out of shape
liking the fire house the water is really cool. idea

Do ALL model train accessories sound like they are drilling a hole in your brain? WTF.
