@@TheUltimateElvisChannelbyLeon I agree he added some new color to the songs. Love Glen D Jerry Lee Lewis style but this guy had his own thing going on.
Strangely, Elvis stayed in one spot for the duration of the song! That's not something we've often seen. Another obvious observation is the change in the drums pattern, sounding like a different drummer, though it is Ronnie Tutt, most likely trying out something new perhaps.
Thank you for posting! May 1, 1977 Chicago Stadium.... I was 19 when I attended this concert...is there a audio recording of the full show? Wow, 43 years ago, where does the time go?
Both shows are available as complete audience recordings, in very good sound, titled "Chicago Double Strike" on the excellent Straight Arrow label. There are a couple of new and reasonably priced copies on ebay John.
It is 1 May 1977 Danny. Elvis' only 1976 appearances in Chicago were on 14 and 15 October 1976 and he did not perform "My Way" at either of these shows.
No doubt the greatest entertainer the world has ever known!
Alllllright Elvis was there never forget that night.
One of my favorite Elvis songs, who would of guessed we would lose him in 3 months.

Loved so dearly, forever in my heart...😢🌹🌹🌹🙏✝️❤️❤️❤️😇
Always loved the 77 versions of my way. Tony Brown on piano also does a great job.
I agree and that is why I felt it was important to mention the piano in the description.
Yes he had a different style to Glen Hardin. Thanks for these uploads keep them coming.

FTD through elvis.com has both Chicago shows that year.....I was there also....got the cd....good stuff
@@TheUltimateElvisChannelbyLeon Thank you for the info.
Actually FTD released the 76 shows. From 77 we only have a few tracks. But the audience recordings are great also.@@brucebailey9020
I was there, too. Awesome talent.
Elvis thought Frank Sinatra was from Chicago, lol.
He work n work just to satisfy his fans n loved ones. ..not thinking of the bad outcome of it on his health.
Who's on the drums? Sounds different. If it's Tutt he sounds like he really wanted to whale.
They do sound different, but It is definitely Ronnie.
@@TheUltimateElvisChannelbyLeon it was the 2nd verse maybe trying something new and exiting the 1st bridge.
Ronnie was on the drums. I think you find this was flat mix, and they where going mix it later in the studio.
its 1976 not 77

It was May 1st, 77. I was there.
Man vergleiche mit Aloha from Hawaii. Man merkt dass er am Ende ist. Aber noch schlimmer ist die Band. Das ist Katzenmusik.
