  • Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player Model: BD-HM51 | Cleaning
Well my Samsung Blu-ray Player was giving me read disc errors, and I decided to take it apart and clean its optical lens which worked flawlessly. This was fun and interesting to see the inside of a blu-ray player not my usual disassembly cleaning videos. But was lots of fun and easy to take apart. Its a wonderful idea to open the tray after the top cover is off however be very careful doing so as the powered equipment without a cover can be dangerous. So please use all precautions. Safety is paramount.
    Thanks for watching!

Some blu-rays were refusing to load or taking many tries. Watched this video and decided to clean the lenes, there were 2 in there one slightly higher. The manual eject wheel was a great tip. I used windex on one end of a qtip then used the dry end, being as gentle as possible. Put it back together and bada bing! All problem discs loaded on first try. THANX! Watching GoodFellas

Greetings and welcome to the channel for cleaning most optical devices i use 99% Isopropyl Alcohol that i buy in bulk and dilute when needed. This player has since been replaced however it does still run plays movies just frequently it will restart a movie mid stream or locks up and requires it to be unplugged many of my players are doing this so its not particularly this model. Be sure to fluff up your cotton swab just before gently sweeping motion across the lens and to mot have it too damp or the ipa will dry and leave a film if not the greatest of ipa brands. Thanks again for watching its greatly appreciated 🍻

Did you just lightly pull on the tray for it to come out or is there a mechanism inside to free the tray?
I have an older Samsung model similar to yours & I definitely need to clean the lense to avoid constant disc errors. I also have a Samsung 4K player that's freezing occasionally with most 4K discs, but I'm not going to mess with it; I'll send it in since it's still relatively new.
More people should take advantage of this potential solution because Blu-ray lense cleaning discs are to be avoided; with those, the lense is likely to sustain small scratches from the microbrush and it just spreads dirt & debris around inside anyways.

Due to community guidelines i paused the video plugged the system in and used the remote to open the tray off camera, caution ⚠️ is advised. There's components that are potentially dangerous while powered on.

Many players do this as Amazon sells many region coded for UK or overseas this could be a possibility for your sporadic disc read issues. I would check those discs in question for proper region codes. Hopefully this helps cheers!
