Replacement ear cushions for my HD800 are over a $100. This is about normal for expensive headphones. Focal Utopia's cushions on the other hand are crazy--
I'm not an over the head headphone guy, but the color combinations are cool. They are more than the Apple Watch so they definitely should have some kinda Airpods Max Studio situation.

I bought the Airpod Maxes and quickly decided that they weren't worth more than twice what I paid for my Sony XM4s. That was before both my ears swelled up with an INSANE allergic reaction to wearing the headphones. I've never gotten an allergic reaction from a consumer product before yet, it's happened 3 times to me when buying new Apple products. I got itchy rashes from Apple Watch sport band and the sport loop but these were NOTHING compared to my ears blowing up and turning an angry red after wearing the Airpod Maxes on and off over the course of 3 days. I can't believe I'm the only one that has had this experience.
Just get the Pro’s, they are great. If you want to get overheads as well then just get some XM4s and you are still under the $549. I would only recommend the Max’s to someone that already has Pro’s because then they know how the smart switching, spacial audio and the whole jazz works and are probably deeply invested into the whole Apple ecosystem.
If you can spare the initial outlay (on credit card) get the pros, Sony mx4 and Bose n700 and see what are best for you, I went with the Bose, there is no wrong choice, just what's best for your needs and return the others, I found the Sony too be a bit too tight a clamp for example (wasn't able to but the Pros at that time)

Does anyone actually have these new AirPod Max’s? In a 1 to 5 scale? I spent $340 for the Beats Studio 3 and they suck? They are extremely cheap and have already broke, I had to replace the ear cups and I’m not a happy camper. I mean really $540 is a lot of $. Because I’m so hard on headphones I’m gonna. Red to get the $$$ AppleCard + with these phones. I heard that there is no on/off button so when u r. It wearing them and they r in their funky case the trickle charge drains the battery. This sux

I’m just glad the ear cushions are replaceable at all. I‘ve seen so many headphones where the faux leather starts flaking or peeling off like crazy
B&O replacement pads for the H9 are $70. These seem inline with that. Both a bit much IMO, but Apple is at least in the same ball park.

if you plan to spend AirPods Max money, probably having AirPods Pro for convience and a pair of real headphone for home listen is the way to go.
