At ANY point, he could have done that same thing and gotten the gun. But he didn’t.
Would you rather tackle him like that with cops all around you with guns or do it in a small room with no one to help you if something goes wrong?
Probably a better idea to wait for more appropriate resources and position I.e swat or at least long guns and a way to escape quickly
@@frog2924 That wasn't the point. He believed the guy, and was helping keep up the charade. He also believed the only way for the police to actually act and put full resources in was to perceive such an imminent threat.
*Also, right when he realized the "dad" was moments away from getting blasted by the officer with the rifle, he pulled the reversal and escaped in order to save the dad's life. At the end of the day, he believed him, and knew he wasn't a bad guy... he was just very desperate, so he didn't want to see him get killed.*

Well, he certainly gave them motivation but still pretty illegal the way he did it of course. Though it would've been nice if he just reported the recently used credit card like a normal person instead of holding a gun to someone's head, since that would involve zero, well, jail time. But hey I guess it got the job done.

The gun was unloaded btw, they found his daughter and were both reunited, dad had to serve for a short sentence
Actually I think is was loaded, and it was implied that Mouse unloaded it before he handed the evidence to the cops so that the dad would have a lesser sentence because the felt empathic for the man's situation.
I think it was a last resort with the gun he wanted his daughter and police elsewhere said she ran away he knew so actually good on him not for the gun but to get Chicago P.D involved they sort shit out
