  • Reverend Cristina Moon of Daihonzan Chozen-ji, a Rinzai Zen temple in Honolulu, joined the NYZC sangha to deliver a stirring dharma talk on the importance of keeping the forms of practice even if they feel foreign, aiding a fellow meditator during their unease through your own stillness, and the transformation that comes about as a result of being still for your own pain.

Yes, Buddhism has taught me to accept change. I lost my father which I wanted to get off this train ,but Buddhism has taught me to accept. Thank you.

I'm glad she brought up the point about being uncomfortable with too Chinese , Korean or Japanese and the importance to keep those connection with the practice. I would love to hear more or for her expand on that point because she is right when eastern practices make it here in the west a lot of things get left behind or stray away from its original form. Yoga is a perfect example of when it got here it went off the rails and people are saying things are yoga when they are not or they are made up to suit their definition of yoga and what's comfortable. beautiful talk and thanks for sharing!

My practice is all over the place, like the wind… I lack consistency, routine, and discipline. You seem like the bomb!
