I trust in a certain Evenepoel, if he will participate in a tete-a-tete against Pogy at TdF 2023 ... Time will tell!
Tadej can handle the pace as well or better than his gc competitors. He has the luxury of thinking longer term. This kind of strategy allows the champ to keep the reserves of his most dangerous rivals stretched, so they will have difficulty drawing on them at the end of the stage and/or later in the Tour. Every day will be hard if you're chasing yellow and Tadej is wearing it with a smile.
It did not look like the UAE team was pushing real hard. None of the riders from the peloton looked exhausted. The breakaway was not strong enough to hold a big time gap.
UAE Keeping a high pace allows Pog to win sprint secounds at the end of each stage and nullifies INEOS and Jumbo attacks. Lets see if it burns his team out in week 2 in the heat, the last week Pog wants a 3min lead to nullify any TT or mountain stage in week 3.
Only explanation for UAE behaviour for me is they maybe wanted to demonstrate strength. To prevent that GC guys trying crazy long range attacks in the days to come. I think it is a real possibility to isolate Pog far from the finish
I'd say it only showed their weakness considering even a rider like Benoot came in quite well, probably only dropped when Pogacar went. By sending McNulty to break, they would be able to respond the same way if such a tactic was performed by their GC rivals. After smaller breakaways emerged and other domestiques gave up, McNulty returned to help his leader. So, it was just a precaution against possible strategies of their rivals.
His DS or Tadej Pogacar use their team as they see fit I guess, I am not really surprised he asks them to chase. What surprises me more is that he is fighting for 2-3s at every end of each stage. Maybe he feels Jonas isn't actually weaker than him on the climbs, but knows he (Pogacar) is more explosive, thus trying to grab more time at every finish? Though ofcourse if that is the case, he failed at that. It definitely could say something that he is using every opportunity to try and take a couple of seconds. Is there a podcast where I can learn more?
The ghost of Marc Hirshi 😂
2:26 Cavendish made it to the TDF, but was quickly consumed,. Ah the life and death of a Top Banana!
Ooof!
@@brianwright9514 over-ripe fruits die, don't feel guilty, there are recipes for bad bananas, unlike bad apples😁
They need to think outside the box and start the stages earlier if it's going to hit 40c.
What a beast 🫢
Had a nice win on jungles today 45/1
Man I should have bet, I called him for yesterday's stage because he was in great form all week.
Great call 👌
at least $20 surely (or whatever your varient is £€¥)
@@andyolsen4517 yeah had £20 on him and pinot
If JV and INEOS can't beat tadjie straight up. Maybe his own marshalling his boys for no real reason, burning full books of matches will? going to be interesting He's very strong but they lost 1 already and Mark H isn't on prior years form. All it takes is one bad day for 1 or 2 of his guys, or a crash /mechanical at a crucial point and it can all change.
That's the one thing I like about the reduced team size. Shite get's real quicker if you don't have another engine
'maybe some reverse swing later' 🤣🙌🏼
Maybe some reverse swing later 😂 excellent cricket analogy, I reckon only the English and aussies caught.
And the South Africans😉
Maybe Pog meant what he said and was keeping the pedal down to avoid attacks from JV and Ineos?
A lot of work for 3 secs. Not a smart move for the third strongest team. Next week will be huge
what was t he tarmac temperature,
This explains why UAE are so disorganized in other races. Pog calls the shots and the DS is just there for water, bikes and food.
How do you know Tadej said that?

Is there a certain reason why you call Jonas Vingegaard by his first name?
Thanks for a great channel.
Because only danes can pronounce Vingegaard without getting their tounges horribly twisted ;)
@@MichaelAndersen_DK It is pronounced like "vingegooh" I guess. Even his teammates have trouble to call his name properly 😅😂

@@MichaelAndersen_DK Haha. Ok :-). I see. Just listen to the danes then. I think it's pretty easy actually.
Lanterne, they aren't 'EF Education First' anymore
No reverse swing as ineos took the shine off the shiny side
is he going to cook his team before the big montains come?
I want to see the jungel descent video 🎉

no one who finishes the tour is going to win the vuelta the way its playing out. this is a hard one. yates v carapaz in my opinion
Follow the rulebook! What rulebook?
Pogacar seems to win everything too easy, which is annoying for me xD
I hope Jumbo or other teams will get chance to attack him (crosswinds, early attack, random events) and proof that they have stronger team, because in normal conditions I can imagine Pogacar just pacing whole climb doesn't care about any attacks and still winning.
Pinot descends like a granny, today was never gonna be his day.
Why did INEOS change the helmet/color?
They are the current leaders of the team competition which earns them yellow helmets.
