I don't like the use of the word "boring", it may be boring to cosmologists but the universe doesn't care.
I agree; "periods of low activity," is a less judgmental phrase, and perhaps more accurate. "Boring" is too vague a word, anyway, in my opinion.
Hello, cosmologists, describe this "boring" in more specific terms, please.

Nice try, but timespace existed before the big bang, in perpetuity. The big bang was simply what created our section of the universe, it's more likely the universe experienced a series of bangs, across everywhere, and that the universe existed prior to this, obviously.
