Amazing interview. If only he knew (I hope he does) how many lives he has touched, changed or even saved with his music and words both sung and spoken. He’s my biggest inspiration. Thank you, Gary!

What a special man, have been a fan of Snow Patrol for years since around 2005 but only really got to “know” Gary as a person through our shared experience of his kind and generous acoustic gigs that he gave us during lockdown. He truly is a beautiful spirit, so open and like others I have often found solace and so much joy from his beautiful lyrics and music. His music just sends me to a higher plain, I can’t wait for the release of the new album.

A classic "empath lightworker" with a name to match, thank you to interviewer for enabling Gary to share so much of his humanity. More men like him would make the world a better place. Heart and voice meld as one, love prevails, a valuable ambassador for Northern Ireland.

I can’t believe there are only 32 comments. What an amazing interview. Gary is such a beautiful soul. I’ve never seen such a down to earth, genuine “rockstar.” His story about his dad, then his performance of “Soon,” following that. Wow. Breathtaking. I really love this man and Snow Patrol! I hope to see them one day. ✌️👍🏻💜☮️💟🦋

I am often critical of interviewers however this person did a great job, especially his ability to allow Gary to talk about his alcoholism and recovery. The song about his father's dementia is beautifully sensitive. Gary's grandmother was a wonderfully warm person and clearly had an impact on his worldview. Thank you all for putting this together. I am in love!

What a humble and genuine artist. I am increasingly amazed at his talent. I have introduced many to his music because I just have to share how much it has meant to me. I know these interviews must be difficult, but he handles them with such grace. Bravo Gary.

What a truly poignant and honest interview from a man who I have only relatively recently discovered. musically but now have seen another side of a man who obviouisly wears his heart on his sleeve. And has a wonderful empathy and compassion.
thank you for sharing this with us all.

Everything Gary talks about leaving and returning to Bangor and n.ireland I can relate to..the ones who left are a unique group of people who understand his feelings..I wonder how many we are who have got to a place of peace in our selves after leaving and now love and appreciate our country 🙂☘️

Fantastic interview. As an American living in NI, it really highlighted all in f the things I love about Norn’ Iron. It also put into focus the potential to change some of the more divisive issues. Gary also could not have been more down to Earth in person. He chatted away to each person he met. A true Ulsterman.

Gary avoids crying when he is talking about his dad. As a Latina, I don't understand why men aren't allowed to cry in some European countries.
