What is missing from this review is how much "fan service" there really is in this film. So many moments that real fans of the franchise can recognize as homages or references to the former movies. Like when they are chased in a flaming van, the music is exactly the same as the scene in Bad Boys where they are chased in the flaming vans with the ether barrels, the many shots that directly reference the older movies (some with Marcus instead of Mike) especially during fight scenes but even just using the orange sky filter for the Miami skyline, the Fletcher scene, etc...
It just feels like it was made with love: for the fans, for the franchise, for the characters themselves.
Oh, and it doesn't try to subvert expectations or basic morality.
Good triumphs over evil, the once evil son is allowed redemption after he selflessly sacrifices himself to save others on multiple occasions, no ambiguous gray areas.

Honestly, the biggest crime is the fact that Reggie was so underutilized. I personally think that he should’ve been given some focus. Basically make the movie a fathers-and-sons movie, where Marcus decides to teach Reggie about responsibility, only to get involved in the conflict, therefore is willing to help his father-in-law. Plus, it would give some time to flesh out Armando more when he wonders how does Reggie manage to handle such a life of family, especially considering how Mike and Marcus treat him. Only for Reggie to remind him that there’s more than that.

Which is all of the more of a crime when you realize that he should’ve been in the movie more. I mean, cut out some of the unnecessary subplots and twists, and actually have the duo pair up with Armando and Reggie. It actually would make more sense since this film was seemingly tackling more about family and it would be nice to see the duo bicker with their son/son-in-law with one of them arguing how they never given them a chance to prove themselves and the other one questioning why is their father so keen on not giving up on them.

Will Smith getting slapped multiple times in the movie was kind of a good move. Tricking people to believe that since he is being slapped it's all good to forgive him now.

I forgive him. At the end of the day people do stupid things. He knew he did something stupid, and has more or less apologized. I like the idea he gets slapped a lot in the movie, and it is a good way to trivialize it, and parody it. Humor conquers a lot of things.

It's still wild to me that so many movies lean into that video-game trope, where a former enemy that was single-handedly giving your whole team a run for their money now ends up joining the good guys but somehow is just mid, barely on par with everybody else. It's like there's some kind of major debuff that instantly gets applied whenever a bad guy switches sides.

If it was you in a bar I am sure you would have just taken it as a fucking joke, if you weren't a cuck. If you ask any real man on the planet if you got slapped what would you do the response would not be just take it and continue on. I give huge props that this bs didn't get Smith at least arrested by rock. He took it and acted more a man than Smith did. Anyone on camera doing this would have at least been charged with assault. More of this, PLS... (Knowing they won't listen but hoping anyway)

What i loved about it is they dont throw social agenda crap within it. No forcing gay couples or having a main character "come out" or neding to affirm someones delusion of what gender they think they are. No luciferian subliminal messages that usually creep within every hollywood movie. Thats why i love Martin Lawrence, even though he still makes movies, hes not apart of the wickedness hollywood pulls. If anything he exposes the evil within hollywood and almost ended up killed because of it. Hollywood runs deeper than most people realize. Of course they will say martin, dave Chappelle or kanye is "crazy" when they whistle blow. Yet, people still listen to the ppl behind the scenes, who they btw have never even seen who is calling the people they have followed crazy. I listen to the people i have seen and followed as a fan who are in hollywood and saying what really happens in it. I would never listen to the media telling me that they are just crazy...of course they will say that when being exposed. The patterns of stars dying after exposing. It's just too much to call it a coincidence. Only about five percent of those people who have Died prematurely have actually died the way that they said on the news.
