I was an Army brat living in Lincoln Village from 81-86. Nothing but fond memories. Brought a tear to my eye seeing it this way. The youth association was called the DYA at that time. Walking to the Commissary and aafes on base. I even went to the day care by the Officers Club. My dad was with Stars and Stripes. Thank you again for sharing!
Hi, Jen - I worked for AAFES during those years (warehouse and courier) - my dad was the American Red Cross Field Director and my family lived in Jefferson Village on top of the hill. I came to visit them, then got an apartment and stayed... great years, great memories.
I wonder if your dad worked with my mom. She worked for the Stars and Stripes back in those days too when my dad was stationed there. Heck, either myself or my brother most likely was in school with you. Small world. I'm sad to see these bases shut down.
This was one of the best, if not the saddest, video of the place I used to live and work in Germany... the silence was deafening... the lack of human occupation a little ghostly... but a damn good steady cam you have my friend! Excellent job - done with much respect. Thank you.
I was stationed there in 85-87 and have very fond memories. Your fellow soldiers became your family I'm sad to see it deserted like this. I remember it being so full of life.
Wow great memories... I was stationed at 11th Sig around early 90's, also Dj'd at the Rainbow club not to far from rear gate, and used to eat these awesome jaeger schnitzel & pommes frites with the mushroom gravy all the time near the front gate. Thanks for the footage. Salute
I spent a year there in 64-65 at V Corps Artillery HQ (S-3). Air Force guys were across the quadrangle. I'm surprised it hasn't been turned into apartments (as they did in Rivers Barracks up in Giessen). Those big buildings were solidly made.
Thank you for posting. We were stationed in Darmstadt for four years. Like other posters, was itching to return home. Now as I watch this, memories flood back. It was where my girl and boy were tiny. It seem magical now, quite, and lonely.
Wow! Amazing. I lived here from SEP 03 to AUG 07, assisted in the closure. The video actually walks right up to my building (22nd SIG BDE HQs) and the door I use to enter every day. Then it went up the steps toward JAG and Legal, the steps my Soldiers and I would always hang around and smoke (I since quit). So many memories flooded through me, it's amazing how this little Kaserne is such a big part of my life. Thanks man!
Wow. Kelley Barricks and Cambridge Fritsch were my home from 01/1983-07/1984. This place was beautiful. From here to Muenster. Man the flood of memories I've carried for the last 30yrs.
Wow! I was stationed there in early 90's. It was brief (under a year) for training and then ended up being placed at Larsons Barracks in Kitzingen. I almost forgot about this place...(I'm 100% va disabled, major TBI) so my memory sucks now..thank you for posting this! A memory brought back!!
I was stationed here between 1983-1987 and served with A Co. 11th Sig. Bn. as a generator technician with Thomas P. Hines as First Sergent. A Co., I believe, was reassigned and all of us later became a part of HHC 11th Sig. Bn. just before I went back to the states. The opening scene of this video shows the motor-pool where I worked. This video prompted many fond memories of this place and as I look back, I truly enjoyed my time. I made many good friends here which was a real blessing. Thank you for this video.
I remember you Sisco, I was there at same time, same unit,, NBC Specialist for the unit. I had no idea it was abandoned. Many fond memories of being there.
Sad, so very sad. What was once a live, vibrant home for many young men and women is now a lifeless shell of it's glory days. Long-lasting fond memories is all that remain, and those who cherish those memories are passing on and taking their memories with them. Thanks to all the wonderful German people who befriended me during my tour with the USAFSS 6910th., and to all my many fellow airmen who began our lifetime friendship at this wonderful place. Thanks for the memories. Bob Ferrell Sr. 292X1 (1964-67.)
The German Fairs in the P.X. parking lot were so fun.....my band played the beer tents...I worked in the Beverage Shop/Food Store next to the Cafeteria.....great memories....Frankenstein Castle was a fave to visit with my friends.. especially during Halloween time..... Thanks for posting!
Thank you for posting. I was there from 92-95. I have some really great memories from there. I have been dreaming of going back since I left. Hard to believe its been almost 20 years. Soooo sad to see the state of it.
I was stationed at Kelly Barracks 1962-1964 547th Engrs, but worked long hours at both kaserns. I truly enjoyed the time I spent there and really did not want to rotate back to Conus. It was really fun to go to the Grossen Woog and enjoy an afternoon swim and view the local supply of beautiful natives in their bikinis. The people were wonderful and they treated one very well as long as you showed respect for them and their culture. It is so sad to see the kaserns closed up. BTW: A strange thing that I observed in my trip to Germany last fall, No graffiti on any of the closed up kaserns that I visited. One sure as hell can not play that tune on your guitar in good old USA ! And yes, I did observe some graffiti (a minor amount) in some local towns but nothing when compared to the display one is treated to on an empty structure back in the good old USA!
I was in Darmstadt, Cambrai Fritchz Kasern 11th sig from 1978-1980. Will never ever forget it and wished I stayed instead of going to Ft Dix NJ. I also remember the 440th! Especially remembering the Pizza Restautant right outside the gate. Still the best pizza I've ever had.
Hey Joann long time no see. What have you been doing with yourself? Do you see any of the old crew we hung out with back then? I talk to Clyde Jones all the time. Take care of yourself. Drop me a line sometime.
I served here in 1958-59 with Company B 32nd Signal Battalion 5th Corp. I enjoyed most every minute here and was able to travel throughout Europe and England. There"s not too many of my era still alive. Many of my friends from here are long since gone. Thanks for the video. Too sad to see it in this condition.
Thank you so much for posting this. I was stationed there late 1980 to April 1982 with the 42nd MP Group (Customs). We were the guys who checked ration cards and stamped your household goods for return to the US. We were towards the "bottom" of the post, both gates and the Main PX (commissary was at Nathan Hale), and billeted in the USMCAD building. Lots of good memories. I note the video is mostly the main area of the post; I'll have to check out the second video! Thanks again.
Lots of memories. I tought I was over this place, but seeing it again has brought a lot of nostalgic and good memories. It makes me sad to see empty and abandoned. I was stationed there, Det. II, 44th Sig. Bn from 1984 to 1988. Our barracks is the building that appears at 0:30 to 0:34 secs of this video. Also the Motorpool where our Comm. Equipment was (TSRT-6) also showing 1:45 to 1:52 time index. Was checking out Darmstadt videos because I might go there next year. That's when I came across this video. Had no idea CFK was abandoned. Thanks for taking the time to film this and sharing it.
THANKS! I was there Dec 83 to Dec 86, worked in the HQ 32d building, then moved over to the HHB building after renovation, then upstairs to command HHB. Such great people there. Have always wanted to go back for a visit. THANKS again.
I was stationed HQ Company 440th signal battalion from Oct 88 to Oct 90. I remember so many good things about this place and the city. The bar outside the main gate where you could get St. Nicholas Beer during the holidays. Does anyone remember going to Smugglers Inn downtown? You could get 2 for 1 beers from 7pm to 8pm. Round dance floor. Used to have a lot of parties in the Quad. Hated the Frankenstein Castle run each year though.
That opening shot looks like HHC 22nd Sig Bde, and the area where my office was. The Waterloo building was my barracks, 1994-1996. Thank you for the memories. Sad to see.
I was stationed here as an SP4 in 1977/1978 at the age of 19/20 w/A Co.,11th Signal. This was a tough time for the military services post Vietnam. I remember the experience here propelled me to finish college, where I decided I would then become a Marine Corps Officer. I learned many leadership and life lessons, positive and negative at Cambrai Fritsch and went on to retire from the Marine Corps with 25 years of service. Appreciate hearing from old friends.
WOW it's really nice and sad at the same time to set eyes on this place ! I was stationed there from 1980/1982 in 247th DECON Detachment and I can truly say I learned a lot there. Smitty from Ohio
I miss Germany so much I lived in Frankfurt at that time on platenstrasse where I could see the TV Tower every morning as I went off to School. Places that were recently abandoned can be made into new housing developments or a luxury housing developments I think it's nice to preserve the history. Germany is just so beautiful ! I miss my friends Sharon Troy Mark Bridget and Jose . My brother Jamie went to school in Darmstadt . We had so much fun. Plus being an 80s kid was awesome 😎
Was stationed here from 1964-1966 with the 6910th Air Force. Many excellent memories. Played some gigs at the Jazz Keller in Darmstadt. Thanks creating the film.
I grew up there from 1987 to 1992 it brings back memories and sad to see that is close down bless you for taking this video. I had a dream that I was there and I woke up and thought I still was living in Darmstadt Germany.
I 2 was stationed here in the 90’s OMG what memories are flooding back and the RAINBOW CLUB and my Barack’s and for some reason my memories of flag duty,,,,it’s sad to watch being so overgrown and lifeless because I grew up here from a young unsure young woman to a confident self assured independent woman
This is Tom McCormack. I was in the Air Force stationed on CFK from July 1968 to July 1971. We were the 6910 Security Wing of the Security Service. Our operations and antenna field was outside of Darmstadt. About a 15-20 ride to our operations bldg. I was in Able Flight. A 29252 AFSC. I loved Darmstadt and all of Germany. While stationed there i was able to go to Oktoberfest in Munchen twice. Berlin and Check Point Charlie, Berlin Zoo, the track that Jesse Owens won his medals in the 1936 Olympics. Jimi Hendrix in Frankfort. Deep Purple in London, Grand Prix in Spa, Belgium, 24 Hour Le Mans Race. Anne Frank's hideaway in Amsterdam I could go on and on. In 1999 my wife and I took a bus tour of Germany, Austria, Switzerland & Italy. While on the bus we saw the AN/FLR-9 antenna in Augsburg. Our unit in Darmstadt moved to Augsburg when it was built. I think in the 1970's.
Can't believe how it looks now...I spent 2 years there from March 1966 to April 1968 at the 6910th Security Wing, then on to Osan, Korea. Got bused to the operations unit every day. Thanks for the video.
Man allot of good memories there. I was there 78 - 80. A Co., 11th Signal Bn. I came back in 83-86 and allot had changed. I still have great memories from there. They have really let it go. I went back to visit in the 90's just about every year.
Yes I read different stories regarding Cambrai Fritsch Kaserne. Also there is gridlock with converting Lincoln Village into housing for students since Darmstadt has the Technical College. Kelley Barracks and Nathan Hale Depot will be torn down soon. Sad to see all this happening. Camrai Fritsch has so much history and looking at your video makes anybody sad who been there.
Couldn't agree more. It was my home during the late 60's early 70s. A place I called home while adjusting (ha) after the Nam. Oh, yes, much history. Met my future wife there and we've been together for 50 years. She provided much more medicine than the VA every could, or tried.
WOW what memories come back when seeing this. I was stationed here from Jan 78 through Dec 79 - 440th Signal I think it was Charlie company. Worked up on the EDCN Site 49 and have had a career in telecommunications ever since. I wish I had taken more pictures when I was there (I have like 4) so appreciate this video very much. I was 18 years old then and had the time of my life exploring the sites of Darmstadt and nearby cities. Geno's was the watering hole just outside the gate that we stopped in at on our way out or back from the barracks.......it was so long ago now the memories are fading but I will never forget the lifestyle and friends I had there. Those were the days my friends!!!
Hello Ed ....I remember you....yes Charlie Co ran the site (Melibokus) for the most part...l remember Mike Morgan..Jeter...Schweihart.. of C Co...I was in D Co....my team was added to the site in 79 and we took over in mid 80....great memories...everything up there has been torn down except the tower and a small maintenance shelter. The german tower is still there and the hang gliding ramp. Fence is gone. I was on return assignment to the 440th having been in D co previously in 76 and 77. .. worked on the hill then as well..sad to see its condition now....take care...
Brings back great memories of this place. I’m corporal Gomez from Charlie company 440th sig battalion. My buddy Sgt Willie”J”Jordan ran the 31C’s. Gizmo Out!
Fond memories. I was installation coordinator only a few years before it closed, 2004 to 2006. Half of the tulips and daisies that come up every spring were added at my direction. I even supervised basic improvements to the theater for the Dallas Cowboy Cheer leaders show. It felt like "my" base for almost 2 years. I tried to make it shine....
I was stationed there 64-65 (PFC E-3, clerk-typist in V Corps Arty. HQ. Good duty. Beat the heck out of being in an artillery battalion (even HQ). Too many alerts, too much field duty.
I served in the 32nd Signal Battalion (Corps) n 1960-1961, alternating between CFK and the I. G. Farben Building in Frankfurt. After 57 years away from there, it's strange to again see the familiar shapes. Mostly good memories, and lots of wondering about the men I served with. Thanks for the tour!
Good times there! I was there from 79-83 44th-44oth Sig. I worked the gate as a unit police officer UP, and the Pizza at "Geno's " was great... could always walk out the gate for a fast meal! Many good memories , good people, and good fun.
Well Kevin...Glad to see you are still alive and kicking...Marty Swiss and were reminiscing not too long ago and remembered you. Hope all is well..Take Care...
I was stationed there from 1987-1989, with the 10th ADA Bde (worked on a different Kaserne. I lived in the BOQ just across the street from the medical clinic.
1967 to 1969 ... You open on what was then 6910th Air Force Security Squadron area. Quad near motor pool. Enjoyed seeing the old barracks and actually aside from it being neglected hasn't much changed. Thanks for sharing!!!
This is a great Vid ... I was stationed at CFK in the 4/92nd MP Co. from 1990-1992 after the 61st MP Co. disbanded in Hanau. I still have contact with a few of my old buddies. They will love it. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
Thank you for this memory. Stationed at CFK from "72 to "75 with 557 Med Co, Amb. Building 4006. When I arrived I was confident that I had assended to the depth of hell, but quickly found that it would become one of my most treasured early life adventures. The video is great but sad to see the lifeless facades. Thank You, Bernie
Brainard Janicki You're very welcome, Bernie! The area is probably in worse condition, now that almost four years have passed without people moving in.
The tunnel entrance was walled off in the southern motorpool. There was also a second entrance on the west side that was less noticeable after a few rounds of reconstruction.
I worked at "SPIES" while I was in college around 1977/1978 at a bar/convenient store near there a lot of American's frequented. He had the best ham and cheese sandwiches and gullashsoup. I think they called him SPIES. It's been so long, but great memories, great people, great loves. I was
I remember it like it was yesterday. I was in the US Air Force 6910th Security Wing Dog Flight from May 1967-July 1970. A great experience. My cousin was an X-ray tech in the Army there for about a year or so while it was there. We loved the area.
I was stationed at Cambrai-Fritsch Kaserne from 1976-78 in Co A 11th Signal Battallion. These were some of the best times of my young life. Sad to see what has become of it. Someday I hope to go back and visit it for myself.
Stationed there 76-77 and again 79-82. D Co. 440th. I have some great memories of the times...great folks..spent 1 year pulling 6 day shifts on Melibokus..geno's pizza place across the street...next to Margarets..(cleaners and seamstress). Some guys from my unit started the Frankenstein castle run..Sorry to see it now.. Ray Estrada
So, so sad. I was stationed here from July of 1963 until December of 1966 with the 6910 Security Wing of the the U.S. Air Force. I see my old housing unit and it saddens me.. The happy moments of my life were here and in Darmstadt.
'69-'72 for me! Lived in Lincoln village and attended the school there. Have many memories of my dad being stationed here. Wish they would restore it and use it for something!
I was at Cambria Fritsch kasetrene back in 1965 to1967 v corps artillery headquarters. If anyone out there was there at that time you'll know me jod CG command section. We had a lot of good times at the rocket club at rhein Main Air Base. That's if I could ever get out of the field. Ludlow mass. 01056, God bless
i was stationed here in the army 7th evac hosp. 1960 to 1963. any number of times i have thought i would like to visit but looks so different than when i was there... too late now besides too old to make that trip.
I'm happy I was able to bring back some memories, even though not all of them were good... Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment - much appreciated!
Thank you for posting the pictures from the base in Darmstadt. I was stationed there with the 32nd Signal Battalion from November 1957- March 1959. Sorry to see the shape of the base, but as we get older things fall apart. I am sure the fellows that were with the 32nd, at this time, will remember Lt. Lewis. White sidewall haircuts and hill 242. Fond memories.
I was stationed at 32nd Signal Battalion from October 1983 - December 1985. It makes me sad to see the place so lifeless. I have lifelong memories here
Several kaserns. Cambria Fritsch Kasern, Kelley Barracks, Griesheim Army Airfield. Several more around the area... Babenhausen Army Kasern ! Reforger, I emplore you to check out the movie Buffalo Soldiers with Ed Harris, Scott Glenn Joaquin Phoenix and anna paquin
Cambrai brng back so many Great Memories! Was Stationed in Darmstadt from 86'-'99 ad meet My Wife & Son Born in MarieHospital! Was a Boy when I first got there and left a Man!
AbandonedKansaiVideo, thank you so much for posting. I was station there in 1984 Det II 44th signal. TYC 39's. Right at 1:49 is the small building what was inside our motor pool. I was told there on Janurary 30, 1984 just outside that little building of the death of my brother back home. After all these years, I remember when all the cobble stone was being put down on the streets and the sidewalks. Thank you again.
I used to have to visit many USA Bases and Kaserns but today I don't like to visit them because I get astrange feeling of lonelyness,I miss a lot of my friends and service men and women from the USA across the pond. Many are gone forever and Yugoslavia and desert Storm were the break up of our connections. Not many of us left today. Be Blessed all. With Love .
I worked at the officers club in 81-82, watching your video brought back some old memories. I have been searching for an old friend that I new back then, Andy Melhorne, and totally not sure of the spelling, he was good friends with my Boyfriend at the time, Tommy Adamson, and his friend, Dan Brennan. Does anyone remember these guys? I am glad these pages for the bases in Germany are here. Thank You :)
I was stationed there from 1977-1979. First in A Co., 440th Signal Battalion in a crash out team as Victor 1 Carrier and then in HQ Co. Was women's floor sergeant and clerk for the Installation Coordinator's office.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! There are plans to turn the CFK into a housing project, but stuff like that develops very slowly in Germany...
I lived in the housing at the top of the hill (Jefferson Village) from 1962 > 1967. My dad was a teacher at the elementary school there in Lincoln Village. I miss Darmstadt dearly. Anyone go to school there during those years?
Was at Darmstadt '63 to '66. Father was with the 6910th. Attended the school for 9th grade during the '63-'64 school year, then was bused up to Frankfurt for my Sophomore and Junior years at Frankfurt American High School. Lived in Lincoln Siedlung. Walked through the woods and up the hill to Cambrai many, many times. Spent most of the summer months wandering the woods between Heidelberger Landstrasse and the Autobahn. Had a blast. Good time to live in Europe.
Had to comment in case any other 7th Combat Support Hospital people from '74-75 see this video. I was unbelievably sentimental watching this....something I never thought I'd be as I couldn't wait to come back to the U.S. when I was stationed there. Now, looking back, that 15 months included some of the best times of my life. Thanks so much for taking this.video and sharing it. I've heard the U.S is going to ramp up its presence in Europe again in response to recent Russian actions. So, perhaps K-F will live again. BTW, there are some pretty neat other Darmstadt-Eberstadt videos on RUclips as well. Again, thank you so much for making this video available
I was with 7th Evac which was later redesignated the 7th Combat Support Hospital, 72-75. I actually worked on loan to the 4th General Dispensary and was the x-ray technician. 75 - 80 I was permanently assigned to the 4th. Stayed in Germany for 18 and a half years but not all in Darmstadt.
Walked here, worked here, lived here with most of my family - can't even begin to tell you what feelings these images stir up in me...

It makes me cry every time I see Frankfurt Germany. Any part of Germany really

No sir. No relation at all.
Time sure flies man. Its been 10 years since I left!!

Equipment was (TSRT-6) also showing 1:45 to 1:52 time index. Was checking out Darmstadt videos because I might go there next year. That's when I came across this video. Had no idea CFK was abandoned. Thanks for taking the time to film this and sharing it.
You were there in 1984? I was there in 1984 in Det II, 44th Sig. Bn. I was assigned to the TYC-39. I left in Feb. 1985
Yes I was there, I left in 1988. Those were fun times.
I was there in 1970 with the Air force. I think building 4028.
THANKS! I was there Dec 83 to Dec 86, worked in the HQ 32d building, then moved over to the HHB building after renovation, then upstairs to command HHB. Such great people there. Have always wanted to go back for a visit. THANKS again.
William Barringer You're welcome! I'm happy to hear that I was able to bring back some memories.
Thank you for posting the video. I worked G3, 32d AADCOM from '83-'86. Great memories.
Sad to see.
Kelley Fluharty I was at Kelly Barracks during that time frame!
My pleasure - thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!
I was there 2002-2006 Thanks for uploading this video, its haunting. I would love to visit and shoot some pics
Dave YHM i was there Christmas 2005-2008!! Wonder if we ever passed one another!
You are welcome! It's always great to hear from people who have actually lived and worked there, so thanks for your comment!
Thanks for sharing...lot's of memories as a Army brat living in Lincoln Village (68-76)
I was stationed here as well... August 1998 - August 2000 with the 2nd Signal Brigade.. Alot of good memories. Thank You for the video.
How strange it is seeing Darmstadt in this condition. Back in the 80's it was such a bustling place.
TheChuck624
Its just the baracks the rest of Darmstadt is prospering
@@philipweber780 Exactly, and much better without the occupation.
Yes, I remember that Club
You are very welcome - it's really nice to see that the CFK meant so much to so many people!
Wow, I was stationed here from 2005 until they shut it down. It is very strange seeing it so overgrown. Thanks! I miss Darmstadt so badly.
Old memories, good times. Hello Juan Ramos, my motor Sgt back in 1984. Cisco I remembered you. Jose Rodriguez the fuel tanker 49c driver.
Brings back great memories of this place. I’m corporal Gomez from Charlie company 440th sig battalion. My buddy Sgt Willie”J”Jordan ran the 31C’s. Gizmo Out!
I was there 440th Signal C Company 81-83.. Thank you for who did this video!
I tried to make it shine....
royrporter I remember the Cheerleaders visit hahahaah!!
Wow, I miss this place. I was stationed here 95-98 440th Sig before going to Bosnia.
Thanks for the video. Many of us spent time on CFC back in the 60's-90's.
My pleasure - I am very pleased to see that this video attracts so much former staff!
Go OSU Beavers!!!!
Hope all is well..Take Care...
thanks had the best time of my young life there im trying to go back someday it's on my bucket list for now
I was stationed there from 1987-1989, with the 10th ADA Bde (worked on a different Kaserne. I lived in the BOQ just across the street from the medical clinic.
Wow. I was stationed there 2003-07 and have often thought about going back to visit...Thanks for posting this!
Sad to see all this wasting away. Darmstadt is my home town and I worked at 32nd AADCOM and the Civilian Personnel office from 1966 to 1981.
My wife did as well. Maybe you remember her. She worked there from 1972 to 1974.
@@tedgarlock1356 I met my husband in 1968 and go married in 1969. It could be possible that I know her. What was her maiden name?
I was at HHC 15th Ord. Next to the mess hall, near the front gate. Nov 72 - May 75
The tunnel entrance was walled off in the southern motorpool.
Ray Estrada
Was there when you were there, Co B, 440th, 75-78
Crazy how the base turned out, huh? Man I miss that place. So many great memories.
01056, God bless
wow I lived there for 2 years 91-93 440th signal battalion delta company....Cant believe its closed down....had some good times there !!
You are welcome, Brian! I hope the area will be used again soon...
I was stationed here in the late 1990s!
I was stationed here as well!!! Wow! Great memories now!
i was stationed here in the army 7th evac hosp.
I have lifelong memories here
Gordie Mc: Since i know nothing about military occupations, what does a signal battalion do? I apologize for my lack of knowledge.

Communications.
RJ Yellowhammer Thanks RJ.
I worked here in 1980 as a army medic. I miss it very much.
I was in Darmstadt for a Reforget exercise in Autumn of 82'...

I see my old barracks also. Was there in 1998 with the 704th MI Group after we closed the Gablingen Field Station in Augsburg.
Oh man this makes me sad, I was stationed there in 1991/94, C 440th signal.
When did it close down??
man I could cry seeing that.
My husband and I got engaged in this building thanks
The video was smoothened by RUclips, hence the bending buildings and traffic signs - nevertheless I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the footage!
great video! thanks for sharing it with us old Cold War Vets
Thanks. I was there 70-71 with S-4, V corp Artillery HQ and Stars and Stripes Newspaper. Great time and experience.
Me too. 72-74 B TAB, V Corps, as well. Stars and Stripes reporter, also. Think I managed to piss off the higher-ups with my editorials. All Good.
I was stationed there from 1977-1979. First in A Co., 440th Signal Battalion in a crash out team as Victor 1 Carrier and then in HQ Co. Was women's floor sergeant and clerk for the Installation Coordinator's office.
You are welcome - it was a great experience to explore the abandoned CFK, although I wasn't able to enter any buildings.
I was stationed there from 1981-1986. Wow at the memories this stirs up. I wish I'd appreciated my time there. Oh, the ignorance of Youth.
I hope they dnt take this historic base down. My father work at this base!
So did mine!
It's still there - I've been there less than a week ago. It looked like nothing changed...
